Hello my lovely dongsæng, the pleasure is all mine! Lovers is a phenomenal drama so if my review made you want to give it a go I'm glad! :)
My summer is not too bad so far. We've been extremely lucky with the weather. July is usually a rainy month, but it's be over 25 degrees celius and sunshine since the start of the month. And being the sun worshipper that I am I couldn't be more pleased!
I'm in Copenhagen right now with the BF and it too is wonderfully hot & filled with people! Having a great time!
What about you? I thought you finished all your exams already but you won't break until 5 wks from now, how come?

Knight! What's up, brethen? You good?
Thank you! I'm glad my review made you want to give Lovers a go. I think it's a worthy drama. The hero, Kang Jæ, is a real alpha male, but with a good heart.
I imagine he's the type of hero many men might like so perhaps you will too. And the female lead is amazing. Sweet, confident and ridiculously funny most of the time. She balances out Kang Jæ really well. If you decide to watch it, I hope it'll be a good investment for you! :)
IHYV doesn't seem like a drama I'm going to watch. Did you finally drop it or are you still watching?

Greetings from Copenhagen, Rita-ssi!
Forgetful dummie that I am, I FORGOT both MY laptop and BF's iPad at home so could not check in as I said I would. We have our iPhones but aside from the astronomical roaming costs I don't like using MDL on my phone. Great to start vacation with a miffed-out BF.
Anyway, ha! The floral shirt. Mi Joo is always making Kang Jæ do things he doesn't want to do and the outcome is almost always shake your head funny.
How are you getting on with the show, by the way? If you're getting on ... LOL
I totally understand if this isn't your cup of tea!
I know you prefer J-dramas anyway & I'm pleased my review at least made you want to give it a try! :)

Greetings from Copenhagen!
I have to keep the faith that I'll have more experiences like the one I had watching Lovers. 50 mil people strong, I'm sure many viewers in SK yearn for more mature fodder too & hopefully the TV execs won't ignore such an important segment of the drama watching population.
How are you getting on with the show so far?

Thank you so much and you're most welcome! I'm so glad you enjoyed Lovers. It's been a few days since I saw it and I still can't get over how great it was for me.
What were the best parts of the show for you?
By the way, I read your profile and I agree with all your drama likes and dislikes because they're mine too! We're also the same age so I can just tell we're going to be great drama buddies! :-)
Golden, the ending was a bit rushed but very poignant and satisfying. I'm still thinking about this drama, while on my vacation, days after I've seen it. In case it wasn't already clear enough I just love this show!!! ;)
Lumi, I know ... that's why I'm going to give a few of her other dramas a try. I have City Hall in mind next. I enjoyed AGD but not as much as I loved Lovers. At this point Lovers is #1 for me.
@Geng, so I heard! Or actually I read that they got together a few months after the show had finished airing. Who knows, who cares, who could blame them. Most important was that they had mad onscreen chemistry. Too bad they didn't last! :(

Awesome! Something I forgot to mention in my review is that there are a lot of LOL moments in this drama. Mi Joo is great. She can be quite silly ... in a very cute, charming way. I know you don't like the gangster setting but bear with it just this once & keep watching! ;) And I'm always happy to hear from you! I love everything about the chats we have! :)
I'm off to Copenhagen on the boat, but I'll be checking in here as much as I can. Let me know how you're getting on. :-)
Omo, and Yamapi without his shirt on your profile!!! I'm having the wildest fangirl moment hehe.

P.S. Re the Hong Sisters the main reason why I hate them is because their dramas usually start with a bang then nosedives because they're generally horrible at pacing. You end up feeling like you've wasted your time because they don't know how and or when to let things go. They drag shit out A LOT, and especially if you hate stupid love triangles as much as I do (I know you do) this is beyond frustrating. But don't take my word for it. Watch for yourself and make the call. I wanted to see My Girlfriend is Gumiho and Big, but not any more. As far as I'm concerned I've seen enough. Moreover, their dramas have horrible kisses.

Interesting observation. I can see why one might be tempted to have that view. After all I had that view, and to a minor extent I still do. Having said that I think those dramas which better suit our tastes are out there. At least I hope they are. MDL, however, is perhaps not the best place to find them given the site's main demographic. I also think the older the cast members (let's say mid-30s and above) the more realistically the romance is likely to play out. Not always, but many times, in my limited experience. Take for eg Pride, ADG, Coffee Prince, Padam Padam. So yeah I guess we just have to be vigilant in searching for what we like. I was about to write off Asian romance & focus more on other genres but then Lovers restored my faith. And that's a good thing because even though I enjoy other genres romance is the common denominator which makes them all the more worthwhile.

Awesome! Thx for the rec!
I can not tell you how many times I almost started that drama and then stopped. I'll definitely bump it now that I am urged by a good source. And it's Taiwanese. I have a goal to watch more Taiwanese dramas. I've been thinking about Mars, but I'll probably go with In Time with You first. By the way have you seen Love Keeps Going? If you have, how's that?

Yep, Bob earned his stripes as a legend.
His songs are timeless & will be around for generations.
Are you watching anything interesting these days? Just came off of a really GREAT drama, Lovers. Now I'm thinking about resuming Smile, You and/or The Greatest Love.

Cheers Addy, it does feel good! Let me tell you, I had been in a slump for weeks. Prior to Lovers I watched Love Story in Havard and it wasn't dreadful but neither was it what I needed it to be. I was THIS close to writing off Asian romance for good, then I thought let's give this one (Lovers) a go since it has the gangster plot and bam I was hooked from start to finish!
It's just a culmination of things that made the drama great for me! Here's to hoping you find your one and only one day too, and that Lovers will be just as great for you as it was for me! :)

Indeed they're not.
Back in June when I started The Greatest Love (which I still haven't finished - 5 eps to go) it was exciting and fun ... mostly because of Cha Seong Won's antics. The female lead was cute too, but by ep 11 she got on my last nerve with all the holding out. The progression of the relationship was so artificial. The back and forth between the characters without anything happening just made me lose all interest, basically in everything romantic. I actually chose Lovers at random not because it had romance, but because of the gangster story line.
I guess you're rewarded when you least expect it. Also Lovers is the 2nd drama written by Kim Eun-sook that I enjoyed. The 1st being A Gentleman's Dignity. I'm going to check out some of her other dramas, for eg City Hall.
From now on I plan to avoid any drama written by the Hong Sisters. I don't like their style.

Well, I'm probably the shallowest devil on MDL. Haha. So you're in good company. Moreover somebody would have to be freakin' dead not to have a reaction to Yamapi.
And without his shirt you say? I like the sound of that! I'll definitely be looking into this Summer Nude! :)
Another edit to add: I just checked Summer Nude and realized that I already have it on my list. I don't have the patience to watch airing dramas, but this sounds great! A defo watch for sure! :P
Give it a go and see, Sumi. It may (or may not) surprise you! It sure did me! :)

Rita-san, thank you! You're like my review Goddess so I'm glad that you like it! :)
For me this drama was just amazing. I hope it'll be great for you too if you decide to watch it anytime soon! :)
Edited to add: Now it's my turn to gush. I LOVE the reinvention of your page. Yamapi is a vision. He got me the moment he walked into frame in Buzzer Beat! I love everything about him, including his hands. Gorgeous young man!
