Oh really? Ok then, great! I trust the Japanese even less when it comes to romance so that's why I assumed it was tragic. LOL Plus, it sure does sound tragic in the synopsis ...
Yeah, I'm working on a review for Chunhyang now. It was an awesome movie! :-)

Ok for you I'm going to go against my convictions and watch Love Letter even though it's a tragic story. My tears are on your hands! :-)

Hey what's up? Haven't heard from you in a while. Merry Christmas! Hope 2013 will find you blessed. What are you watching these days?
Good or bad, I'll pretty much watch anything LBH is in. That man can do no wrong in my eyes! It's also nice to know that he's a really cool guy in real life too. :-)

The links don't work there, but not to worry I found it somewhere else.
Let him die ...? Dude, what kind of answer is that? lol
So you think he died? Then who opened the door & why does the new Queen mother look so shocked? Doesn't really matter, I just wanted to hear a second opinion.

Hi Unni, doing well thanks. How are things on your end?
I finished LYATT yesterday. Here's my long, slightly emotional review of it: http://mydramalist.com/reviews/id/6300
It contains no major spoilers, but I described in detail why certain characters didn't work for me. Hopefully it will help you decide whether to watch it or not.

I liked the lead actress in Concubine. Any idea where I can find The Servant? She also stars in it, but I can't find it anywhere.

Hey, I saw your review of the movie The Servant & wondered where you watched the movie itself? I can't seem to find it on any of the usual sites. Thx! :-)

I was expecting a slightly more complicated plot, but it was pretty okay. I liked it. Curious, though, to hear your interpretation of the ending. Do you think Kwon-yoo came back to exact revenge? Or what ...?
Wow, even while I know this is how social systems works in India, I'm always fascinated when it's confirmed. As for corrupting you ... yeah I worry because not only are you young, but you're also from a very conservative place. I don't want to write anything that may shock or offend you. LOL
And I agree about romance in movies. I'm not looking for soft porn, but I want to see believable interaction between characters who are supposed to be married and or in love. So a kiss should be a real kiss & a cuddle should be a real cuddle, you get my drift. Ah well, I guess its good I'm a filmmaker. That way, I can make the kinda movies I like to watch. :-)
Wow, that's amazing. I've seen lots of Bollywood movies, but its been awhile so I can't remember the kiss scenes, if there were any at all. So let me get this straight, young people in India don't interact with each other? Do they become boyfriend/girlfriend? And don't they kiss when they're in private? I mean like a real kiss now, a french kiss, not brushing of the lips. LOL, I hope I'm not corrupting you by asking these questions. I know India is a very conservative country, but this still fascinates me. To be honest I've gotten so used to real physicality between characters on screen that I can't fully enjoy a show when its lacking. That's why I get so frustrated with Asian dramas where the intimacy is completely fake, childish or non-existent.

Haha, I bet you do. You are after all a 19 yr old kid. If you get my drift ... ;-)
Anyway, in that case I'm sure you'll enjoy Spartacus. Keep me posted when you do watch it. Off to have some dinner & finish watching Royal Concubine, but watch out for some Western recs from me later. You've already seen quite a bit, I see.

Wow, it must have been bad for you of all people to give it a SIX? I'm shocked! LOL
Ah, so you want me to recommend you some western films? Ok, give me an idea of what you've already seen then I can help you with some good ones. I have seen A LOT of films in my lifetime so I should have some great recs for ya.
As for Spartacus, it's epic & it has all the elements of a great show for me: hot guys, romance, suspense, war, political scheming, treachery, treason ... you name it, it's got it. But it is also very, very violent. Sometimes the violence is so vicious & bloody I have to cover my eyes. And because it's aired on cable (not network television) the sex scenes are akin to softcore porn, LOL. Even homosexual depictions are screened without censor so if those sort of things offend you, beware.

I kinda spent the majority of my X-mas watching a 55 ep drama I mostly hated so now I have to take the few days left before the official start of the new year to get some work done. I have a movie coming up in the spring & I have to write tons and tons of funding applications that I haven't even started yet. I also have to prepare docs for my feature film to take to the Berlin Film Festival & I'm co-producing a documentary with a French-Cameroonian director so I really can't slack off any more. LOL But that said I'll prioritize watching Salaryman when I watch my next drama. Usually I have no interest in watching shows with no romance, but I loved the western drama Prison Break & it had very little romance. If SM is as interesting, then I'll be happy. I wish I could find more Asian dramas like PB. I wanted to watch IRIS, but after I heard the ending I decided not to go there.

What are you talking about? Bookworms are good. India produces all the doctors and engineers that's lacking in the West. I didn't even know schools in India are open during what is essentially Christmas season for us. See you learn something everyday.
I thought I was the only one who hated Friends. I have no idea why that show was so popular. Anyway, knowing that you're a voracious watcher you've probably seen everything I could rec, but what genre would you prefer the most? Have you seen any of the shows I mentioned before? Spartacus - very bloody & sexually explicit, but excellent. Game of Thrones is another great show. Also a lot of people seem to like Scandal, Breaking Bad, A Walking Dead, True Blood. What I've seen of these shows were pretty good, but when I discovered Asian dramas I put them on hold. If you like historicals, check out Downton Abbey too.

Just finished Loving You A Thousand Times & went looking for more dramas with Jung Gyu Woon. Found out he's in Salaryman so I read the reviews. Yours definitely made me want to see this drama now.
