3-iron is 1 of my all time favourite movies, of all movies I've ever seen, and the 1 I like the most from director Kim Ki-duk. That film really moved me in a way I didn't expect. I'm actually making a short film next year that's heavily influenced by 3-iron and Kim's style. That's how much I loved it! :-) I noticed you only gave it a 7 though. I'm interested to know how you arrived at that rating? Perfectly fine, of course, just curious. :)

As for Ghost, sounds pretty interesting! I'll be sure to check it out once I'm in the mood for a good crime drama. I think maybe you'll like A Dirty Carnival. It's a very good cautionary tale about life in the underworld. I have a review up if you'd like to get a broader impression of what to expect. I'm now 13 episodes into LYATT & boy is one of the couples pissing me off! LOL Only this time it's the man that I can't bear to look at!

Knight, long time no hear! What's up, mate? All is well on your side of the world? I am well. Just work, work, work and a few movies/dramas in between. I don't know if you celebrate Christmas or what not, but I hope I won't cause any offence in wishing you Happy Holidays! May 2013 be a year of discovery, joy and fulfilled dreams for you, my friend! :-)

Now as for Sweet Room, I watched it on You Tube. If you check my wall up to a few days back you'll see the links (they were posted by darkangel). Let me know what you think it if/when you check it out. You might be in for a shock! LOL

No worries, Unni, I'll continue watching since you're only a few episodes into Ghost. I checked it out and see that the popular So Ji Sub is the star. I've only watched one movie, Only You, that he's starred in. Still can't decide whether I like him or not though. How is Ghost so far? Watch LYATT when you can! :-) I'm not very familiar with the cast, but I'm liking most of them so far. By the way, recently I saw a great gangster movie called A Dirty Carnival. Have you see it? If not, I can recommend it. It stars that cutie pie actor So In Sung and was pretty awesome!

Annehyeong, Unni, how is it going? I found what appears to be an interesting family drama about infertility and surrogacy. It's called Loving You A Thousand Times. It seems to have good reviews too, most people loved it. What I find unique about it is that one of the main couples is already married ... which I think is nice since I've never encountered that in a K-drama before. Anyway, I wondered if you may want to watch it together with me? It's 55 episodes so quite long, but since it's the holidays I have some time. What about on your end? Really enjoyed our OB discussion & think it might be fun to watch this drama together & discuss it as we go along. What do you say? I've already started, but if you want to watch it with me, I'll wait for you to catch up before proceeding. I've only seen 2 eps so far anyway.

I agree with purplenette. Stereotypes, yeah they're really annoying but what annoys me much more is you misusing…
The only person I see blowing a gasket here is you, young lady. Relax.

DWL! I didn't realize So Ji Sub was talking English in that scene either. OMG, that was pretty bad! I didn't understand a word he said except "it's my wife's birthday tomorrow". And I barely made that out. But who am I to judge? I'm learning Korean at the moment and I'm pretty sure I butcher his language just the same! :-)

Nice review of My Little Bride. I share your sentiments. I wasn't expecting much when I watched it, but it turned out to be a very charming little film! I love it.

Many Asian people don't like it when Americans dress up in their national garb and put on slanty eyes as a Halloween costume or just for fun. They find it offensive, and at the very least, insensitive. I share their sentiments.

Well, personally, I'm a movie person more than a drama person. I prefer movies because they're less time consuming and not as emotionally demanding as dramas. I first became acquainted with Asian cinema through movies. I've been watching them on and off for about 2 years, mostly at film festivals. I started watching dramas for the 1st time in October. I'm enjoying them now, but I can see my interest waning over time because they're generally too formulaic for my taste. They're so formulaic I can predict entire sequences of events almost to a T before they occur. Where's the fun in that? Movies, on the hand, I'll never get tired of. Though I wish more Asian movies took a less pessimistic outlook on life, I think their stories are far more interesting than your usual Hollywood troupe. The characters too are like real people, not 1-dimensional and boring like in most Western films.

We're in the same boat. I only started watching in October, and I haven't looked back since. These days Asian cinema (TV & film) is all I watch.

It was just after she got of the bus and Hiroto asked her if they can try again. While they were hugging & agreeing to the terms of the relationship she mentioned something about distant love. So I got the impression that she did go to Hokkaido and that they're having a long distant relationship. Later in the very last scene we see Hiroto putting on the gloves Nao made for him. He says something as if talking to someone in the back room. I don't know if he was actually talking to someone or just himself. The scene got cut as he's in mid-sentence. I don't know if that's how the show ended or if it was a glitch caused by the people who uploaded the drama to the net. I watched it on Gooddrama. That's why I got confused. It's no biggie though. Just wanted to know your take on it since these events led me to believe the ending was a bit ambiguous.

Yes I saw the bus scene, but I'm still confused. Read the comment again.

Nice drama. Must admit that I watched this with a bit of foreboding because of the characters' age. They were too young. I couldn't believe their love story would last (even after the credits roll) and that made me sad.

Re: Tatta Hitotsu no Koi ... so did they end up together in the end or did she go Hoddaiko or whatever that place she was going is called? I wasn't sure because at the end when they were hugging she said something about distant love ... then later we see Hiro in his kitchen and he's talking to someone but it cuts off before we see who, grrr. What's your take?

Check out Sad Movie. Also I haven't seen it yet, but I hear Daisy is a tear jerker, and of course A Moment to Remember is a classic. I'm sure you've probably seen it already since pretty much everyone has.
