Damn! Can't believe he'll be 40 in two weeks. Doesn't look a day over 30. He's so gooood in Sealed with a Kiss! Great acting. This guy is just pure sexiness. My first Chinese crush. Yus! <3
The song at the beginning and ending of drama was too long. This drama teaches us "you gain some, you loose…
Noooooo! So you mean to tell me they don't end up together at the end? Someone told me that they did, ... married and had a child. Didn't that happen here?
Oh, I didn't notice the runtime was only 15 min each ep. I'll give this a go then! It's so rare to see a love story between a Japanese man and a foreign woman. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds, though knowing the Japanese the romance is unlikely to be a big part of the story.
From the very first time I saw him in My Precious You I've liked him. When will he get a proper leading role where he gets the girl? No stupid ass competition between him and another man, no overzealous parent trying to control his life ... just him ... and the girl? When??? Please drama god work your magic!
I'll be waiting and watching cuz boy he's the hottest thing since slice bread!
I'm on ep 3 and two incredibly hot guys(mmmmmmm huge eye candies) behave nasty because of girl... It's highly…
I share your perspective re love & when it's portrayed too realistically on screen. That's why I can't watch at least half of Asian love stories. They're often way too tragic or acrimonious. I like when there's a healthy balance between realism and fantasy so that the viewer accepts that love may be challenging but not impossible or having it leave a bitter taste in your mouth.
This sounds like a drama I could have liked, but I seriously hate love triangles so I'll never watch it. The other elements mentioned in your review above don't inspire a need to watch it either.
I gave this the same score. I've never liked Ha Ji Won and this drama didn't give me a reason to reevaluate my apathy toward her. Other than that the central story wasn't all that interesting to me. I got a few laughs from the body swap, but overall the story, the barely there fantasy elements AND the romance were all a real big arsed MEH. Ha Ji Won ruins a lot of shows and movies for me. I think she's a horrible actress; her demeanor and facial expression always make me want to pull a Jay Rice on her. Oska made me stay, he was definitely too loud, but I loved him.
A very restrained, one-note actress. She kind of reminds me of Lee Bo Young in this regard, although Bo Young makes an effort (but doesn't always succeed) to add some dynamic to the roles she plays. I feel like this Lee (Yo Won) never truly embraced any voice & movement (with emphasis on movement) class that might have been a part of her training (if she has any) as her acting is perpetually stiff and uptight. She can't seem to relax and allow herself to truly embody the character. She pretty much interprets ALL her roles with the same stone faced severity. I'm not sure I like it. Actually, no, I KNOW I don't like it.
Some people have naturally expressive faces and some don't, I understand that. Those who fall in the latter category perhaps can't change how they outwardly react to things, but a key part of an actor's job (with the help of a good director) is to infuse the character with ticks and quirks which set them a part from any preceding or subsequent character ... whether thru a recurring gesture or action or by how they deliver the text.
Perhaps the best work I've seen of Lee Yo Won is her performance in Golden Empire. While not as captivating and top notch as some of her co-stars, her act was the most dynamic of all her previous works that I've seen. A part of this is due to the excellent material she had to work with (great scripts like this in a Korean drama is, in my experience, very rare) as well as the fact that the character called for an outwardly chilly, restrained, non-emotive demeanor.
Otherwise I've been woefully underwhelmed with her other portrayals. She has unfortunately earned a spot on my blacklist, though I won't say no to a drama where she's present if the story is worthy or if she stars with one of my favourites.
This drama is perfectly watchable & entertaining. It features some of the usual silly cliches that are to be expected in Asian dramas, however the show's positives outweigh its negatives. There's great chemistry between the leads, the female lead in particular is sassy & outspoken in a cute, disarming way and most of the supporting cast are quite likable. Moreover, while there are some melodramatic elements (this is a j-drama after all) it never overwhelms the central plot so the drama remains light and buoyant for the majority of episodes. I think most who are fans of this genre will enjoy this show. Just check any lofty expectation you may have at the door and chances are you'll like this just fine.
I'm a pretty tough cookie, but man if I had a mother-in-law like her (characters), she'd surely put the fear of the Almighty in me! She'd kill me ... if I didn't kill her first! haha
Typecasting can be bad for an actor's ambition, but not necessarily his/her career. I'm sure as long as she's active, she'll never run out of work! :)
Also you might want to put your comment above behind a spoiler tag.
