Bahaha! :)
Oh the folly of youth ...
Whatever you say, mr. Knight.

Would you believe I haven't watched that many movies this year, neither western nor Asian, except those that I saw while working.
Of the few that I've seen The Act of Killing stuck out in my mind. It's a must see documentary about the wicked nature of a psychopath.
I don't keep record of my western movie watching. I've tried to on IMDB, but it isn't as good as MDL's lists. I wish I could find a site that makes it easy for me to keep track.
What about you?

Chankamanyo! *I* didn't start any rumours!
Moreover, if you have done nothing to be ashamed of you shouldn't feel pressured, mr. Knight. Don't you think? ;p

Yah, I saw your comment on Edu's profile, haha! So you're facing serious troubles and severe tension because of us, are you?
Well good!
Now you know ... if you cheat on Ye Jin, God help you. **evil grin**
True. Just finished watching her in Can We Get Married. I thought I expected to hate her character, but she was actually one of the few that I liked.

Oooh I loved First Kiss! It evoked a strong sense of longing. Very nice. Feel free to share more as you like. I love love poems! :) I'm sure your gf must be pleased, having snagged a romantic poet! My bf is a good guy, but not very romantic ... or rather, no longer romantic. He was when we first started dating. Ah well ...

Oh, I'm glad you enjoyed it! That movie just blew me away. It remains my favourite movie of all time!
Hey you should post one of your poems on your profile. Would love to read one. Can't wait to hear how you like Lovers, but take your time. I wished I hadn't marathoned it because I was so bummed after I finished. I didn't want it to end.

You summed it up beautifully. That's EXACTLY it. Finally, someone understands my complaints about the show. Fangirls almost had my head when I brought up similar points.

What's irritating you? The show overall, the ending or both? I know the feeling, I also gave it a 7. I hated the ending. Thought it was so uncharacteristic for a guy like Doc Son to NOT anticipate that move ... which goes to show the sloppiness of the writing once again. Every time the writers wrote themselves into a corner, they got out of it by changing the entire course of the drama or change the established characteristics of certain characters to suit their needs, rather than the story they've told thus far. They had not an ounce of artistic integrity. I can't understand all the 9s & 10s the show garnered on this site. It's mediocre, at best. Let me know about Never Give Up. I added it to my list the other day.

Those kiss scenes where the guy devours the girl's face are just wrong. They seriously make the guy look like a pervert.
That's actually why I wasn't on board with Joo Yoon Hee as the female lead when I first came across 9. Even though she performed better than expected, I've never seen a drama with her, prior to 9, where she delivers a good kiss! Granted, b4 9 I had only seen 2 of her dramas. Still, both were a disappointment in the kiss department.
Now I know a lot hinges on the director when it comes to kissing & intimacy, but I've also read that some Korean actresses are unwilling to do more than lip presses because they don't want to seem too forward to audiences.
I was like WTF? Dude, be a damn professional. You make your living creating make believe. If you don't want to kiss on screen, don't accept romantic roles! Moreover, who the heck refuses to kiss a guy like Lee Jin Wook (star of 9)? Haha! Don't get it!
Anyway, it's not that I'm super interested in seeing characters get naked. It's just that if you're trying to convince me that 2 people are madly in love I want to believe it. In Nine the fact that Min Young actually had her own apartment & didn't live with her parents is novel in & of itself. Even more so is the fact that Sun Woo was at her place, in her bed & you know they've been having sex without ever having seen the deed. It's a perfect reflection of modern day relationships as they occur in SK.
Yet, watching drama you'd think the entire country is stuck in a time warp from the very distant past OR that SK society is as socially conservative as the Taliban when it's not.
I'm all for dramas like Nine & CWGM which show the true nature of modern relationships. If this trend continues there's hope I'll remain in dramaland afterall.
I'm on episode 6 and I'm not liking it as much as I thought I would. I think her character is very close to her…
Yes, wolfgirl, keep watching. I haven't seen My Name is Kim Sam Soon so I can't compare, but I know these characters totally grew on me in later episodes. Hope it gets better for you! :)

Watch it! I'm curious to hear what you think of it. To me, it's absolutely amazing.
Honestly, even after a full year watching Asian TV, I'm still reeling from culture shock where the lack of intimacy is concerned. I mean there are so many ways to create intimacy without having the characters kiss or have sex, so why all the awkwardness remains a mystery to me. One thing I love about CWGM is that the relationships ARE real. Besides the kissing & the love making there's genuine intimacy between the characters - they cuddle in bed, they nuzzle each other's face tenderly, they walk arm in arm ... you know just like real couples do. And the women are not stiff logs when the guys kiss them. They participate! lol

Oh I see.
Yes, jdramas do that a lot! I'd love to see the drama that doesn't utilize such stupid troupes. It's hard for me to understand why, when it comes to romance, screenwriters feel they must throw in all this external conflict when it's hard enough to maintain a relationship just by being in one.
Anyway, thx for the reassurance. I'll watch the finale tomorrow. It's already after midnight here & I should go to bed ... but I'll probably watch a few more eps of Can We Get Married first. This drama is quite addictive! :)
Strangely, it's making a better impression on me than expected. It's pretty fresh in that it's nothing like what I described above. The characters have a lot of emotional baggage which makes for great conflict in the each relationship. AND it's wonderfully free of all that awkward physical intimacy we hate!
Seriously I've never seen so many bed scenes (or hot kisses) in a kdrama before. I LOVE it! I love this new brand of drama where the characters act like modern people. I was so shocked when I saw the bed scenes in Nine. First the honeymoon scene (LOOOOVE ... esp with the Whitney Houston song playing in the background) & the bed scene where Min Young's mother catches Sun Woo in her bed. I was like wuuuh??? lol I couldn't believe it, but you won't hear any complaints from me!
Please watch 3-Iron asap. You are going to luuve it!
