I agree there's no romance in betrayal. And believe me when I say I hate it just as much as you do. Have a look at my profile ... I don't like cheating & acrimonious relationships in my dramas. At all. There's enough of that irl. Having said that you can not judge the content of a person's character just because they may enjoy a fictionalized version of a bad thing. Come on, doc, think about it. It's crazy to draw such conclusions about people you don't know. Moreover, if you dislike betrayals so much you should be more careful with the type of dramas you choose to watch.

It's the height of madness to judge someone because they wrote, played in or liked a show about betrayal or any other nefarious behaviour. Was Tom Clancy a terrorist just because he wrote about terrorism & espionage? Couple years back Charlize Theron played a murderous prostitute in Monster ... as far as I know she didn't become one irl. I love watching those true crime shows about forensic medicine, has it turned me into a medical or scientific genius? Nope. I hope I was able to illustrate the severe flaw in your logic, which, I believe, isn't necessarily because you're dumb (I hope you're not), but because you're allowing your emotions to rule your good sense. So I again I'll say it ... relax. Take a deep breath. And perhaps some meds. I say this with love. Seriously. Hugs. :)

Thank you for the request. I see you're currently watching Golden Empire. Good choice. It gets particularly good after ep 12.
What genres do you prefer, if any?
By the way, nice profile. I'm sure you get that alot.

Really liked her in My Precious You. Too bad I have no interest in watching any of her preceding or subsequent dramas.

One of the best young actors around. Totally love this guy. Although his act is better suited to the big screen, I wouldn't mind seeing him in another drama. He was perhaps the only highlight of Lovers in Prague.

I'm keeping an eye out on You Who Came from the Stars. If it ends well I might give it a watch. But just in case it's another Marry Him If You Dare ... I don't want to start watching it until it airs.

I recently saw Sung Joon in Can We Get Married. At first I really liked his character in that drama, but after a while he turned into a total wuss & that kind of turned me off. I'll keep SUFBB back of mind. I do push myself to watch outside of my comfort zone from time to time.

My Precious You was rather precious in the first 20+ episodes, but after that it became really melodramatic & I got fed up with the repetitiveness of the storyline. If you're interested in a more in depth opinion, you can check out my review of the show.

I think I started to watch 9 after MPY. I highly recommend it! It's a very interesting show with a really nice romance. Definitely give it a watch! :)

All changes which occur in the past are occurring to one & the same person. They're not replicas. Sun Woo 1993 & Sun Woo 2012, one person. Same feelings, mannerisms, thoughts etc. They're the same man separated by time. Sun Woo 2012 could anticipate the behaviour of his past self, that's why he said he'd rather not tell Sun Woo 1993 that he's deathly ill, so as not to ruin his youth. He'd rather find a natural way to get him to a hospital.

Thinking more about it, perhaps Sung Woo didn't really change the past, per se. As once time lapses it can never be changed, but perhaps altered realities may occur, allowing those affected to recall the reality already lived & any altered versions of the same.

I'm not convinced the theory of parallel universes completely applies here.

Sun Woo & gang were not transplanted into an entirely new existence (in which case your theory would hold more water). Their reality was altered, but their existence (their universe) remained by and large the same.

A parallel universe suggests an existence not only far removed but completely different, from the current one.

Second, your theory may very well be right. However, it's possible the writers' theory of altered realities & our ability to recall each of them may also be true.

Moreover, that could be the curse of the sticks. That you recall 2 realities, but can't choose which reality you prefer to live in.

Whatever we believe doesn't really matter ... as long as the theory presented contains the possibility of truth, which it does.

We'll never really know unless we happen upon a time machine of our very own!

'I also found his younger self communicating with his older self a bit confusing. It would've been more plausible had the messages been there all along without the older Sun Woo understanding what they meant until he came in contact with the time machine.'

On second thought this wouldn't have worked either ... since the past had not yet changed. There would be no reason for Sun Woo the younger to leave such messages.

The reason why they remember was explained.

However, the basic tenet is rather simple (this isn't really a spoiler). Irrespective of how a change occurred, whether by the hand of fate or the interference of an outside force (Sun Woo & time machine), the event occurred & is thereby etched on the memories of those said event occurred to.

So whatever happens to their past selves, their future self will automatically remember. Makes sense to me given that these past & future beings are ONE & THE SAME person. The future being will recall all past events, esp major ones, they've experience unless there's some plausible reason for them to forget (like a severe illness or injury). The past self won't know what its future self is doing ... since the past being can not interpose him/her self between their present & their future. Do you understand?

BOTH events, the one before Sun Woo's interference & the one after his interference, occurred so that's why they're able to remember each reality. What they experience is somewhat like deja vu except that they recall this alternative reality with greater clarity than regular deja vu experiences.

I also found his younger self communicating with his older self a bit confusing. It would've been more plausible had the messages been there all along without the older Sun Woo understanding what they meant until he came in contact with the time machine.

On the other hand, Sun Woo the younger was in possession of the time machine at the time the communications occurred so maybe just by having it he was able to communicate with his future self. After all, Sun Woo did not randomly happen upon the sticks, they came to him by fate.

I've never been good at explaining things so don't know if any of this makes sense...

Crazy jumps in time zones?
Well, what do you expect when you're watching a time travel drama? lol Nothing against QIHM, per se. It's alright, but I think it's a seriously overhyped drama & the time travel there was riddled with plot holes. At least in 9 it's logical & follows the rule of fate.
I don't understand your complaint about Sun Woo changing the past. His lack of anticipation of how it will change the future is credible because think about it ... how many times have you done something that you later realize wasn't the best choice? Hindsight is 20/20.
He thought helping his brother was a small gesture, nothing that would tempt fate to turn against him. The last thing he expected was that that little girl will come to mean so much to him in the future. To me his actions are very plausible & something most humans engage in everyday: acting without thinking of the consequences.

Not quite like a word processor or I wouldn't have asked now would I? :)

Take a look at my profile, in particular:

'What I watch' ...
I can't get rid of the gap between the title & the sentence.

Same goes for the genres section. I don't want double spacing between the heading & the text. And the 'Blacklist' & 'Let's be friends' headings. How do I get rid of that space where there's no text?

All this makes me feel like I'm not understanding the formatting are something. I dunno ...

I have an idea about collages, but I'm not quite there yet with making them. Please tell me how.

Cheers!
