Oh, I understand what you mean. So you probably meant to say he used one type of shot, rather than one camera, perhaps?
One thing they always hammer into your head at film school is to avoid zooming as much as possible because it's very distracting for an audience. There are some rare cases when zooming is appropriate, but most of the time it's not. This was a good example of when it isn't. Mostly though the whole damn thing just sucked! :)
I don't trust the writer of this drama. This woman is known for her tragedies. If this ends up being gut-wrenching…
Actually bimba beat you to it! lol
She posted an update for me on the feeds. That's how I know it's scheduled for February. And I saw pics from the set on facebook. I'm practically foaming at the mouth! haha My ahjussi just keeps getting sexier and sexier! LOL
BTW, I have a drama rec for you that I *think* you might like. I'll come see you later.

Hehe ... in case you're confused as to why I went all technical on you ... it's because of what you wrote in your review. About the film having just one shot angle because they used one camera. :)
While Ugly Alert certainly had its highlights I wouldn't recommend it personally. In the beginning episodes the male lead's martyr complex turned me off & I hated the entitled, bitchy sister. Later on when they become better people it didn't matter because their previous behaviour was stuck in my head. Overall I cared very little for the characters - except the love line of his brother & her cousin, which I thought was cute (though the guy can't act to save his life). The story also did not require 120 eps. Ultimately I felt like I just wasted my time on this drama. Please don't shoot me, NDA!
I'm still debating whether I should watch Horse Doctor. Having loved Cho Seung Woo in Chunhyang I've been itching to see him in a drama, but I don't like medical shows so this may not be my cup of tea.
Incarnation of Money was highly recommended to me. I'll give it a go eventually.
I'm still a bit conflicted with the ending... I definitely wasn't expecting a happy ending so him dying makes…
Exactly. Totally against his character ... which makes me hold the writing in less esteem because the writer wrote the ending to suit some sort of moral code rather than what is true to the character's nature. In my opinion at least ...

Read your review of Nobody's Daughter Hæ Won. I didn't like the movie either. Both the story & the acting (esp the female lead) were lame.
One thing though it's not unusual for a film to be shot with one camera. In fact, it happens quite often. Shot angles don't have anything to do with how many cameras were used. You can use multiple cameras and still have the same or similar shot/s throughout a movie. Shot angles are decided by the director (in collaboration with the cinematographer) & has more to do with his/her vision of what he wants the film to look like on screen rather than the number of cameras. So even if multiple cameras were used to shoot NDHW the result would probably be the same if that's the way the director envisioned the film.
Anyway, it was just a detail I thought I'd mention, otherwise I totally agree with your review! :)

By the way, I just had a look see on your dropped list (you've dropped almost as many dramas as you've watched!). You don't seem to have much patience, do you? lol I saw some reasonably good ones on the list, but many of these dramas don't get good until you're several eps in, by which time you've already dropped them. This is not a criticism, just an observation. Where Golden Bride is concerned, I don't know if you'll hold out. One thing to keep in mind if you do watch it, it's not a drama you marathon. If you take your time & watch it over time it won't frustrate you.

"A lot of romantic scenes and hot kisses that it makes your heart flutters.
P.S: You'll envy such a love story. I totally wished somebody will love me that much."
I read these words & immediately decided to add Sweet Sweet Bodyguard to my list. This sounds like my kind of romance. But tell me, does it have a happy ending & is it filled with melodrama?
I'd like to recommend you check out a drama called Golden Bride. The drama itself is a bit draggy, but if you skip the draggy parts it's totally worth watching for the amazing lead couple.
I just love the way they love & cherish each other. You WILL envy their love! Seriously. They're soooo cute together, the chemistry is off the charts. There aren't many passionate kisses, but you can expect lots of tender intimacy that you don't often see in most dramas. Even if they don't lock lips you'll BELIEVE they're two people who are deeply & genuinely in love because their skinship is relatively natural as opposed to outright awkward.
Give it a look see.

LOL, no, being an adult able to drink is not a bad thing at all! It's very good! I just wanted to make sure you're not like 12 or something! lol There are a lot of youngsters on this site!
Thx, my favourites are always evolving. I don't mind rom coms, but I prefer romantic drama (referring to the genre here). Before drama took over my life I used to watch a lot of movies. I still watch a lot of movies (because I love cinema AND I work in the film industry so watching films is a part of my job), but my patience & attention span have become as thin as a strand of hair. If a movie doesn't hook me within the first 10 mins I can't continue. I put it on hold & usually I have no clue when I'll get back to it. It's so weird because I can't drop dramas even when they bore me or annoy me!

I see you finished Nine & gave it an 8. What does 8 mean for you? Were you satisfied with the ending?
I always have to shake my head at creatives who think they're so 'edgy' and 'different' in their fashion choices. Oooooo!
Pfft ... what really happens is that you get epic failures like a number of the actors featured here. What in the world is So Ji Sub wearing? I'm always struck by his fashion sense. With horror.
And that guy with the yellow hair. I already don't like his face & then he goes and put blond hair on top of it?! You know what, lemme just leave this alone before I'm filleted by his fangirls! :p
It's incredible to me that of anyone they could've given the trophy to for Golden Empire ... they chose Lee Yo Won. #SMDH Not that she wasn't good. In fact, this is perhaps the only role I've seen her in where her stone-faced demeanour is well-suited to the character. But come on! Go Soo & Son Hyun Joo completely blew her out of the water, and yet they weren't even nominated? Not even mentioned???
Dafuq? That's soooo wrong!
That's why I don't give 2 shits about award shows, man. Most of the time they never get it right.

I understand. I kind of take the same approach, even though I tend to watch crime, thrillers and romantic drama (the genre) the most.
I also think dramas with older people deal with more mature topics & themes. I find that I enjoy these more than dramas about teens & young adults (18-24).
Golden Empire was amazing! That showed inspired me on so many levels & even though we were meant to hate him I actually LOVE Jang Tæ-joo. I love his tenacity & his audacity to challenge the establishment. Before Go Soo was just a pretty face for me, but now I respect him as an actor. That's one of the best performances I've seen in my life. And I became a fan of Son Hyun Joo. His rendition of Choi Min-jæ was just ... wow!
I also liked Nine. Not a huge time travel fan, but I always like the heroes of the writing duo behind the show. They also wrote QIHM & I loved the hero there too. Their male leads are always kind of scholarly smart, witty & sexy all wrapped into one nice looking package! haha. I was sooo drooling over Lee Jin Wook as I watched Nine. LOL
As for Two Weeks I might pick it up one day. I've heard good to mixed reviews about it.

Yes, when I first started watching dramas a year or so ago I was shocked by how silly many of them were! haha I mean I'm just not used to seeing late 20 somethings & 30 somethings make a huge deal about holding hands with someone of the opposite sex. It's not that I need to see every aspect of my life reflected in a drama, but when they feel like dramas fit for some long gone century I just can't get into them.
I'm happy with a few of the newer dramas that I've seen. Many seem to be taking a more natural & mature approach to skinship & just how they portray romantic relationships in general.
What kind of dramas do you like watching the best? I see you have favourites from varying genres, but do you have 1 or more specific genre that you like above all else?

Have a look see on my profile for an overview of my preferences, but generally I like romance, crime & thriller, esp when all 3 are mixed into one. Are you watching any dramas you're really enjoying at the moment? And by the way, are you an adult?
