By the way, sera, forgot to mention that I had no intention of watching I Need Romance 2 until I found out Lee Jin Wook is in it! I saw the trailer & he's like 50 shades of hot! :p

I have a specific day dedicated just to rewatching my favourite dramas. Somehow dramas like Lovers & Pride just never get old for me.
Do you have any good 90s jdrama you can rec to me? It's interesting that I'm so drawn to 90s jdrama, but I can't stand older kdramas. I find them too riddled with ridiculous cliches & you can bet your last dollar that they'll keep the lead couple apart until the very end of the drama when one of them dies from cancer. I avoid them like the plague. I try not to watch kdramas older than '08. Lovers & a few others being the only exception.
I know Stars Falling is very sad, that's why I haven't watched it yet. And the only reason I will watch it is for Kimo. Have you seen Beautiful Life? I hear that's another good but sad one. I can also highly recommend his movie Love & Honour.
I see you recently completed Petty Romance & My P.S. Partner. How did you like them? Your review of The Thieves reminds that I need to watch that movie asap! Sounds really fun!

He sure does! That kitchen kiss in Pride was wicked! Now if only more of these later j-dramas would follow suit. It's strange, I find that 90s jdramas are waaay better in the kissing/romance department than dramas of today. It's almost as if Japan experienced a cultural regression of some sort & this outlawed all french kissing on screen. lol
I've heard that A Million Stars from the Skies is pretty taboo - I don't know if it's incest or what's in it (don't tell me), but I've seen some pretty strong reactions to it here on the site. Anyway, those things don't bother me so I'm looking forward to watching it one day soon! :)
I thought I was the only one who was totally underwhelmed by QIHM. I got frustrated with the fact that every time there was a romantic scene something would happen to interrupt it. So you never get to savour those sweet moments between the leads. And not only that, the travel made no sense whatsoever. The rules kept changing as the writers couldn't make up their minds what story they want to tell. Either that or they were on crack. Nine is far more solid in the writing department; even the romance is lot better too (though I'm not a fan of the female lead).
And I'm so with you on those depressing melodramas! My first k-drama was a 'cancer' drama & it left me feeling down and out for days! :/

oOOO, always nice to meet a Lovers fan! Thx for sending the request. :) It's one of my all time favourite dramas & I loved Pride!!! It's what got me hooked on Kimura-san! <3
It's true though, isn't it, re those fish kisses! I don't know what that is but I know I bloody hate 'em! haha :)
Try to keep watching Nine. It gets more interesting with each episode. I thought it was a lot better done than its predecessor, Queen In-Hyun's Man (though not everyone will agree with me). Besides don't you find the male lead totally haaaawt? ;)
What genres do you normally enjoy?

Thx for your recent request. I see you like the couple from RMPW. So did I. I want them to do another special or better yet a movie! But I won't hold my breath...
And wow, 383 completed dramas??? Did you start watching in the womb? :p
Ugly Alert seems like just the drama I was looking for ! Your review and the comments here is really tempting…
Hehe ... NKDA has that effect on you when she's enthusiastic about a show. She made me commit to watching another 100+ ep drama after I swore up and down to myself that I wouldn't! hehehe

Haha pervy ... well there are the odd few of these idol youngsters that I like to look at. Call me pedonoona, if you will! That's okay! Bahaha.
Ok, those clips look NOICE! They do look very cute together!!!
Angsty period? Is there any indication that any of the leads are going to die? Is this based on a some tragic historical figure??? Cuz if so his/her demise is likely inevitable.
I might watch the first few eps although with my schedule I have no business starting such a long drama. Moreover it's still airing ...
But what the heck! 73 eps have passed so that's more than enough to tide me over until it ends. I won't catch up. Ok, tell me where you watch it! :P

Omo, I just realize King's Daughter has 120 eps!!!
I vowed to never watch such a long drama again after Ugly Alert. Do I dare? Is the romance really that good? Are you sure they're some good kisses and skinskip?
I'm soooo shallow! I know, I know! haha

Oh.My.Frekken.Jesus ... you like hot ahjussi Takenouchi Yukata too??? I LOVE that man! He makes a lot of romance dramas & I'm always a lil disappointed because he never plants one on 'em! I wonder why? WHY? Did his wife lock him down or what? lol But man I love his acting - so understated and cool & he's one sexy, handsome Japanese man! I actually haven't seen Rondo yet. I started one time but put it on hold because of the bad subs, but I'mma definitely pick it back up one day soon.
Listen, these little boys most MDLers love are so not in my league. Their fan girls can keep them. Give me my Lee Seo-jin, my Takenouchi Yukata, my Lee Byung-hun, my Kimura Takuya, my Ha Jung Woo etc. LMH? Screw LMH! haha I haven't even watched a drama with him yet! I have City Hunter lined up. I intended to watch Heirs but a combination of Park Shin Hye & the universally scathing reviews blew me off its scent. I'm adding King's Daughter to the list!!!

Yup, I do. I want to exclusively write, direct & produce my own productions & produce other people's work at my discretion & convenience. It's still a very distant dream.
But yes, this is what I've always wanted to do. I started out wanting to be an actress. Ever since I was a child. Everybody told me it was a phase. Nope, it was not. Eventually my interest evolved to encompass the entire creative process. So I went to film school to learn about producing & directing and ... well, the rest is history! :)
I'm slowly trying to make a name for myself in the business. It's hard work, sometimes I want to give up, but I love it too much. As long as I still have some fight in me, I'll keep it & hope one day I'll be among the successful 5%.
Ok, enuf about me! :) Movie recs. I'll start you off with 3 from 3 different genre combos: Oasis (drama/romance), I Saw the Devil (thriller/horror), Everything about my Wife (comedy). I notice that you haven't rated everything you've seen. Why's that? Can't make up your mind?

My new chingu! I so agree with you about Taiwanese dramas! What they sometimes lack in quality they make for in not equating kissing to raping in rhino! First time I saw MARS with all those bed scenes I was like wuuuh? Couldn't believe it because previously I was on a binge of K & J dramas where merely holding hands with the opposite sex was a big frekken deal! lol I can't believe how much we actually do have in common, tho! I LOVE mr. Kimura Takuya! And J-drama from the 1990s do romance soooo much better than today, esp in the skinship department. How that's even possible I don't know. Did Japanese society experience a cultural regression or what? #smh Please don't hesitate to recommend any great dramas (with romance) that you liked! You've seen sooo much more than me. We kind of went past each other on Ugly Alert but I see a lot of my favs on your list and they're all rated 8 and above so we DO seem to like a lot of the same things! :)

Edinaa, my dear! Apologies that I haven't responded to your previous messages! I'm okay, how are you? How's life treating you?
Lately I haven't been watching much drama except one long drama that I watched on occasion. I finally finished it the other day and I surprisingly quite liked it even though it dragged somewhat. It's called Golden Bride. I haven't started anything else yet, but I've been catching up on few western flicks I've been wanting to see: Wolf of Wall Street (8) and 12 Years a Slave (9).
What about yourself? Have you been or are you watching anything good?

I actually work in independent film. I produce, write & direct both my own films and other people's films. I've been doing it for about 3 yrs. Still struggling though so it's not like I'm some big shot or anything. I'm not even a small shot. More like no shot! LOL But you know what they say ... never give up, Rome wasn't built in a day!
Anyway, movies! Yes, they're my first love. Before dramas movies were totally my thing. They still are actually, but now they compete with dramas for my time. Before I can give you some recs I need to know what you like to watch (genres) & how old you are. Are you really a teenage maniac? :)
By the way, I love your avi! So cute!
While Ugly Alert certainly had its highlights I wouldn't recommend it personally. In the beginning episodes the…
Omo, omo, omo! ME TOOO!!! Lovers is where I caught Seo-jin fever & I've been sick ever since! hahahaa
I can't get hulu in my region, darn it!!! I plan to tackle his long dramas soon. Under normal circumstances I wouldn't even watch dramas like Yi San & Gye Bæk, but anything for my Seo-jin!!! xD

It was the hand!
Remember when she was trying to get at the kids in the apartment & she stuck her hand through the dog door? The moment I saw that high angle shot of the hand I knew it belonged to a woman! Even when considering that Korean men can be pretty small in stature, that hand was far too slender & femininely curved to belong to a man. Also during the fight scene outside the brother's apartment, SHJ wasn't even TRYING in the fight with her. It was sooo obvious that he was allowing her to have the upper hand. I thought to myself if that was a goddamned man he'd be fighting him off with more force!
Once you know that the villain is female it became pretty easy to guess who she was since there was no other females around to do it. Aside from SHJ's wife, she (the villain) was the only one left!

Seo-jin is the best! I love him so much! I need to move to Seoul & marry him for real (I'mma have to beg him & his parents to let him marry a mutt). LOL!!!
I watched episodes of Grandpa Over Flowers just for him too! But I had to stop because I couldn't find more eps. Where did you watch it? And I'm practically foaming at the mouth waiting for February to come so I can see him again! He's the only reason for me to watch that drama (and he better freaken get the girl! ;)

Soumatra, I definitely agree with you about the male lead. If it wasn't for my inability to drop stuff I'd've given up after the first 10 eps or so. He was just too much with the 'everything is my fault' thing. Later on he grew a pair (kind of), but even then I didn't really warm to him. Maybe because I prefer more masculine men. But as NDA said different strokes for different folks. Whilst he's not my type of man, he's perfect for other viewers who like the sweet, beta type of male and there's nothing wrong with that. There's room for everyone! :)

Hmm ... I checked your dropped list. I didn't see any of my favs! ahaha
I see you dropped Freeze which stars my sexy ahjussi & drama hussy Lee Seo-jin. I haven't seen it & it's okay if you think he can't act. I would kinda sorta agree with you, if you do. It depends on the role my darling is playing, but mostly he's just nice to look at! To me, at least! :p
