Lol, Douban isn't even a credible site. the only use for this douban score is to help paid marketing accounts write hateful articles about YM. The users on douban aren't simple people watching TV, there are a lot of factors involved: paid antis, paid fans, antis, fans, rival fandoms, etc so nobody should get their pants in a bunch over it. People that actually enjoyed it will follow members of the crew on their next project, actors have gotten more exposure and others will get better prospects, this score is practically useless. A drama that is likely to hit 2 billion by the end of it's run gets 4.9 then is the entire Chinese population going to watch just the first episode and drop itπ§ Edit: Currently at 5.0 but still unacceptable.
I Personally feel YM and WC have real chemistry, it's the plot that's limiting the potential. I hope before things get angsty we'll at least have some memories to hold onto.
I like the change of pace. As much as I like our 3 OTP's, it's very easy for the writer to fall into a rut while trying to stick to the mushy mushy stuff. It was interesting to see the tactics of the Huku tribe on the battle field, "two legged sheep" and those levers for climbing make perfect sense considering their civilization. I appreciate the author's attention to details. Barbarian Zhou Ying looks much more handsome but it seems this is going to present a problem. I look forward to Fang Zhu's battle scene on the water.
I think there is a reason why Eternal love is still the highest rated Xianxia romance on MDL. I'm happy for everyone who has found something that surpasses but I'm still in withdrawal and faithfully rewatch every yearπͺ
In that case, are you sure C dramas are for you? π Better stick to Western dramas lol, providing they're not…
Everyone seems to have misunderstood my comment π€ I just don't buy into romantic plotlines that claim to express a love worth dying for when the OTP doesn't have any real connections except for mere camaderie or attraction obtained in a short span of time. For a love to reach that point it should represent something meaningful. For example though many people say that the OTP of eternal love was unrealistic fairytale crap, I feel that for Ye Hua, SuSu was not just a woman but a life he didn't know he could have, MC was very expressive and we could see how different his life with SuSu was from the one he knew, for that he was willing to risk his life. For dramas that didn't fit the bill I won't mention. In conclusion romance should be more complex but most dramas can be summed up like this: Boy meets girl, they disagree and fight a lot. Finally they warm up to each other and "fall in love", three months later there's an arrow flying towards the girl but boy jumps in front of arrow and dies. I might be exaggerating a bit but the writing just gets shallower and shallower and the acting isn't even enough to live up to the bad writing talk less of covering for it. Everyone has their way of looking at things and that's how I see it. And I am not complaining about this drama.
While watching this drama I now understand why I can't enjoy most romance dramas that most people seem to have enjoyed, the plots don't have logical progression and lack real characteristics.
The explanation is just ahead if you don't want spoilers.
Fang Zhu became Di Xu's "Bai Xi" after Zi Zan's death. It means that he'd take on all his injuries from then on. I'm not sure if it was to save his life and protect him or bcoz he felt guilty for the damages he caused by making a tactical error during Prince Yi's rebellion.
No. It was ancient time, they donβt have jackets like modern time, the weather was clean and cold during ancient…
I understand putting on the armor, it's all those layers of cloth they wear while doing laps. it doesn't seem that cold after all they haven't reached the pass yet and are still in training camp I think. And the clothes seem too fine to be running around in, I'm sure they had more suitable fabric at the time.
