This drama has way too many people who never actually watch any other cdrama of this genre or even crime cdrama (or just any realistic non-idol cdrama) in general.

Ironically the presence of Reba actually destroy this drama's rating here due to too many of her fans coming her only to watch her and be disappointed because the only thing they ever watched her in are those romance idol dramas and therefore are unable to stomach anything outside of that comfort zone. Just one of those reason why only douban rating is worth anything and not MDL rating.

This drama is not perfect but it certainly isn't worse than most of those romcoms and xianxias with better ratings.

Not everything has to be a thriller or bromance.

There is a lot of thrillers and bromances cdramas, obviously it has nothing to do with censorship because those are obviously not censored.

It's just white collar crimes. I'm sure there are a lot of billionaires who have track record of a lot of gray shady things or even straight up break laws but they are too powerful to be caught. These people have a lot of followers, lovers, etc who don't mind all that, it's about the money and power.

The whole notion of "I should turn against someone" because they break laws is unrealistic af. Look at all those corrupt politicians, they have so many friends and families who love them! In fact they love them even more if he hand out projects and nepotism and shit! People hate things like violent crimes/criminal but when it comes to all these white collar crimes many don't care where the money came from as long as they also benefit from the resulting money.

Yes An Ni is a friend, but a "useless" idealistic friend who can't even give LYT power, money, or even a job. Meanwhile ZJK gave her a card with a lot of money in it.... so yeah actually LYT is a much more realistic character than An Ni, I'd argue that the majority of people are more like her, because if the average people is like An Ni, then why is the corruption rate, crime rate, etc on earth is so high? Clearly many people value selfish desires over things like truth and justice.

That's not really true. By ep 30 it should be pretty clear that ZJK definitely also love her. He gave her all his money and kept trying to not implicate her. Turns out all his harsh words was because he was trying to get her to leave him so she can have her own life and in order to not implicate her in his crime. He also never let her participate in his crime too. Also the password on his card. If a man doesn't love you he would not do all that. Also yes, one of the reason why ZJK doesn't turn on lao A is because he threatened to harm LYT if he does that, while he promise to gave him enough money to travel the world with LYT after he got released from prison if he turn himself in.

It is definitely a wrong assumption when people think that ZJK loving QTX means he doesn't love LYT. This is a fallacy which stems from all these idealized romance dramas where everyone can only have 1 love partner. Emperors can love his empress and multiple concubines at the same time, there are even cases where there are multiple favorite concubines, and yes, even in modern day CEOs often have mistresses and what not, he can obviously show care and concern towards multiple women. There is a precedence for this in cdramas, eg. the main villain in "In The Name of The People."

People do stupid things for love, that is why they say love in blind. Heck, silly suicidal romance story like Romeo and Juliet is called literature and celebrated.

Strong is useless if she doesn't win, winning is more important. Better be like a Huang Yao in Knockout who pretend to be weak but in the end get what she wants because no one suspected it. Low profile and hiding your hand is much better than pompous arrogance which alert the opponent.

Speaking about greed Yonggang is such a stupid piece of shit. I feel so bad for his wife, unfortunately there are so many people like this Yonggang in real life it pisses me off thinking about it.

Main character fighting their friend is a common trope for these type of "anti-evil campaign" cdramas. Every single one I watched have this same trope. The main character and at least one of the bad guy have these kind of complicated friendly relationship. It makes the story more dramatic than just having the protagonist fighting strangers only.

In ep 25 An Ni talks positively about video games. As a character that is supposed to represent CCP's standpoint, I am disappointed that CCP hasn't realized that online competitive video games is like cancer that harm the society and should be treated like digital drugs instead of being praised. Too many kids these days wasting their productive years playing these games and being unproductive, only very few % could make a career out of those. Internet cafes are like modern day opium dens. It's even worse because Xiaobei plays p2w mmos

There's a lot of people like her irl. Only get into trouble with law because husband/bf is a criminal. Like they say, love is blind.
