rewatching this I'm realizing that there's two pair of twins in this. the Li brothers and the Su sisters... The boys are the ML servants and the girls are the FLs.

Li Rong claims she supported him throughout his reign, but I honestly that is far from the actual truth. She constantly micromanaged him and spoke to him as if he were still a child. She never truly stopped to understand his perspective, even especially after he admitted that he felt like a courtesan since she kept pushing him to sleep with someone he didn't want or love.
Pei Wuxuan had his own agenda. Though he saw Li Chuan as a bosom friend, he wasn't simply helping him out of loyalty; he genuinely wanted to dismantle the noble families' hold over the common people, as they were no good and only sought to control the positions within the court, as well as who got to enter the harem and become Empress.

This reminds me so much of what happened to the King in "Under the Queen's Umbrella". He also witnessed his brother being murdered so he could take the throne. Anyways, I enjoyed this one though I believe it was filmed way too dark. It was very well written. But yet again, they wrote the female lead as very overbearing, impulsive, and nonsensical. For the most part, her impulsiveness saved the male lead, but it kind of pissed me off in the last episode because what if the male lead hadn't regained consciousness from the poisoning fast enough? Her ass would've died. He also wouldn't have entered the realm like he did or taken those majors with the supreme.
I must say, exceptional acting from Jang Young-nam and Kwak Dong-yeon. They really stood out and acted their asses off. Dong-yeon is so versatile and talented. I can only hope he'll receive more recognition. Joo Hyuk performance was good too. Great Job cast.

There’s no doubt that AI has become embedded in almost every aspect of our lives, and there’s hardly any system that doesn’t use it in some way, shape, or form. But I think something as sensitive and intricate as a movie or TV series intro shouldn’t be created with AI.

The King is evil, but at the same time, not all the blame falls solely on him. He was still a child, and the plan wasn't created by him. This reminds me so much of what happened to the King in "Under the Queen's Umbrella". He also witnessed his brother being murdered so he could take the throne. The only difference is that he became a great ruler, unlike this one.
Anyways, I enjoyed this one though I believe it was filmed way too dark. It was very well written. But yet again, they wrote the female lead as very overbearing, impulsive, and nonsensical. For the most part, her impulsiveness saved the male lead, but it kind of pissed me off in the last episode because what if the male lead hadn't regained consciousness from the poisoning fast enough? Her ass would've died. He also wouldn't have entered the realm like he did or taken those majors with the supreme.
I must say, exceptional acting from Jang Young-nam and Kwak Dong-yeon. They really stood out and acted their asses off. Dong-yeon is so versatile and talented. I can only hope he'll receive more recognition. Joo Hyuk performance was good too. Great Job cast.

I remember seeing a video circulating in an Asian drama group I was a part of. To me, and to several other people in the group, it came across as unnecessarily "sexy." She wasn't unclothed or anything like that; it was the camera angles, filters, gaze, and the overall presentation. I wish I still had the link so I could post it here, but unfortunately I haven't seen it circulating widely since then, so I can't pull it up off the bat.
I saw that video sometime last year I don't remember exactly when but it genuinely bothered me knowing how young she was.
From that point on, some people from that group and others I met later on Weibo joined together to report the content. Since then, I've continued making official reports through the available channels whenever I came across something I found inappropriate, and I've made Weibo posts to bring awareness to what I believe are concerning marketing choices surrounding her. I've also tried to get the attention of her fan clubs in the hope that they'd look into the issue as well.
I'm not a part of any artist fan club because I don't have "FAVES". So I had limited control on what I could "officially" do outside of making post of my own with the group/team I have/had. That's the simplest way I can explain this bit....
I'm not apart of management team or her company. Neither can I speak as a fanclub member. But with the little resources I DO have. I've done EVERYTHING I can.
So before questioning what I've done, maybe ask first instead of assuming I've done nothing. I artist doesn't need to be my "FAVE" for me to see that people are bringing them more harm than good in the name of fame. I speak up when I think something is wrong. I'd rather overthink, rather than read a bad report two to three years later.
It's only implied that the female lead is still too young to marry. However, there's nothing about the male lead that speaks to his age outside of the fact that he's supposed to be a general who already has concubines and children. And this isn't uncommon for young people back then, especially those in power, to already have several wives and concubines, since sometimes it wasn't even of their own accord......
If I'm wrong and talking out of my ass, then by all means, gather me with official proof from the screenplay writer, Wu Mengzhang.
This is the exact reason we should be pushing for her, as well as all the other young artists, both male and female, to be in safe environments with people their own age or at the very least close-range. Had she had a proper agency, none of this would've happened in the first place. They would've made sure she was protected and not subjected to such perverted comments. The promotional content and other released materials wouldn't have been so lewd for someone her age, either.
TH Entertainment is shit, and from the day they began accepting scripts where she played roles opposite grown-ass men, including this show, I knew what they were doing. My eyes opened even more after seeing what they're releasing for promotion. But anything to make sure a drama succeeds, I guess... even if that's at the cost of the actress's comfort and innocence.
