My opinion is probably a monority's opinin, but I'm not sure how to feel about this drama. I mean, Sato Takeru is my favourite Japanese actor and I've been following his works from 2013. Because he always portrays so many kind of different characters, and his acting is so good usually, but for some reason, this role was....very badly acted. I mean, the writing of this story in general, is like doing check on every cliche that you expect your usual RomCom to be, but I'm kind of..disappointed of his acting here? and I'm really sad to say it cause again, he's my favourite Japanese actor... The drama in general wasn't a "good drama" (in my opinion), but it was cute. again, is doing the usual common cliches, but it was refreshing and fun if you don't search for something deep and heavy. I really hope that in his next works the acting will be better T_T
I felt the same at first but not anymore. If her true identity was discovered, he too would probably be put to…
Thanks a lot for the detailed recommendations! What I mean by quality wise, is a profound and well written characters and relationships :) Of course cinematography adds a lot too, but I have the feeling that nowdays a story like this can't be found so easily. I heard a lot about Nirvana in Fire! I guess it worths the praise if it's rated that highly.. You know, I actually never considered watching a drama from Thiland! O_O That could be interesting! Jumon is famous indeed... I'll keep in mind all you said! :D I'm actually having a difficult time now to get over this drama (I never imagined I'll get so attached to it) So I'm watching some light movies before I'll get my heart ready for another adventure XD. and BTW, I watched an interview with MGY in youtube about the drama, and actually found some interesting facts and thoughts about the it, if you're interested :)
I wanted to watch the movie because of MGY. I've just finished watching The Painter of The Wind, and then I realize that she starred in this movie and in the drama with Park Jin Woo! The movie was nothing special nor original, but it was light and funny.

I totally understand. I also have some dramas that I can't forget about for years! I think this one is going to be the same. I mean, it was a really painful ending and I'm having hard time getting over it for few days already XD, but I do believe it was worth the watch. and Eventually I'll became able to think like you. (Or for at least imagine there's still a continuation after the drama ends, hehe) Because you said period dramas, do you recommend other dramas that are quality wise similiar to this one?

I can't get over her decision...I like your explanation though, it makes me feel a little bit better hehe. I still hoped they could do it a little bit bitter-sweet than just bitter,to show us some hope for their future reunion or something.
kudos for being the first gender bender where the female lead actually pulled off being a guy and the whole town…
The first drama I saw that the girl was actually acting as a guy from the beginning till the end. I think that at some point she did saw herself as a man. But overall I feel this drama didn't care about "gender", but about "souls" :) The ending...can't get over it forver
