But the ml accepted that he cheated, for whatever reasons.Or else how can they get divorce. And about milking money, idk…
With the lengths Kdramas go to to justify doing some proper insane shit for shock value (seriously, they give soap operas a run for their money), I can't even begin to guess why the ML would accept that, or if he even did.
Less than 20 minutes into the first episode and I already dislike this show. Not for the actors or the characters or anything like that, but for the premise.
The FL and ML are divorced, supposedly because the ML had an affair, but there's no way in hell a romcom lead in a Kdrama will turn out to be a cheater (or at least the only one who cheated), which means that the FL has been milking the ML for all his money, leaving him utterly broke, and treating him like shit since their divorce for something he either didn't do or did under extenuating circumstances (amnesia trope, both cheated,...). And since this is a romcom, the two will obviously reconcile in the end, but I just can't see how the ML could possibly forgive the FL for not only taking all his money and treating him like garbage, but for believing he cheated in the first place.
I caught up, and Ji Yeon made me go from 0 to 100 on anger scale in 10 mins. I can't believe they've been friends…
Yeah, this pretty much retroactively completely ruined the Ji Yeon character by making it so that she has been jumping on every guy that shows interest in Ji Gu and vice versa for over a decade. That's irredeemable, and I've no idea how they could even have been friends so far.
Like, I'd get it if this were the first time she'd done it, and it was because she was scared that the group would grow apart, but to be doing it for 10+ years is just insane.
Not gonna talk about the ending, but fl! I seriously see no chemistry between them :( and idk why her? I feel…
Her character felt like those attractive female characters in US movies that the leading actor hooks up with... completely irrelevant to the plot, just something pretty to look at.
The ratings on this site are so scuffed. Tons of super low ratings for shows that are mid and super high ratings…
I mostly watch romcoms, and a pattern I've noticed is that, as long as the show isn't REALLY bad (like this one), attractive/famous male lead = +1.5-2.0 rating. Same goes for attractive/famous female lead, but to a lesser degree.
It's because, aside from PBY being PBY, this is a terrible show, mainly because of the writing. It had soap-opera…
Seriously? There wasn't anything super bad?
Off the top of my head; -the cringeworthy reactions to the leads' appearance (how the ML is supposedly a god among men, and how the FL used to be the same, but is now, if not actually considered ugly, at best plain-looking) -everything regarding the ML's ex-fiancée (there is not a single coherent thing about anything she's involved in) -the ridiculous "coincidences" (the killer just happens to get revenge-killed right outside the FL's front door, right where the ML can find and revive him; the ML's ex-fiancée being the serial killer's daughter; the FL's new appearance being that of an old co-worker; said co-worker having once been in a relationship with the cop working the serial killer's case;... it's just insane -this falls under the ex-fiancée part, but it deserves a listing of its own; her mother. They spend several episodes finding and saving her, and then for no reason whatsoever, let her get kidnapped again and then killed -also falls under the ex-fiancée part, but it deserves a listing of its own even more; the constant flip-flopping of the ex-fiancée. She switches sides like over half a dozen times during the show
i really dont understand any of the bad reviews. Do ppl just not like genuinely good shows anymore?? that seems…
It's because, aside from PBY being PBY, this is a terrible show, mainly because of the writing. It had soap-opera levels of rage-inducing stupidity. If PBY wasn't in it, this show would've bombed, hard.
I thought he would be smart in this birth that only happened in 1st 3 episodes, after that he looks very sloppy.…
I honestly don't know what his goal is, and I don't mean that in a good way. One moment he acts like he wants to bring it down, the next like he wants to take it over, then like he wants to help it succeed, his motivation is all over the place.
As for finding out who had him (or the owner of his new body) killed, he literally can't, because those circumstances have been irrevocably changed with his rebirth.
As if Hyunwoo was not a dickhead? He was literally their slaves. He didnt feel guilty doing the dirty job and…
"All of the characters are morally grey. " Umm, no. They're morally bad, all of them, ML included, with the exception of the ML's old and new immediate families, who we know virtually nothing of, and the FL, who appeared to be on a vendetta against the family (I'm assuming because of the death of the ML host in his previous life).
For someone to be morally grey, they have to do both good and bad things in more or less equal measure, but the only good thing the ML has done (saving the automakers' jobs) was incidental to him serving his own interests, contrasted with his entire past life of covering up for a corrupt family, and all the scheming he's doing in his new one.
The FL is the only one who could be considered morally grey, because she did good by going after corruption, but did so out of self-interest.
While I'm enjoying the show, I find that the ML, who was a corporate fixer in his past life, is very, very sloppy in this one. Everyone who can be arsed can out find his "secret" identity in very short order, it would seem.
Oh, same. but also slow buuuuuuuurn romances at glacial speed, if done right, are the most rewarding kind tho…
The downside of slow romances in Kdrama is how slow they are (and how annoying they can get when the padding is done poorly), while the downside of fast romances is the inevitable breakup approximately 4 episodes before the end, and make-up in the last or second-to-last episode.
The ending of ep 10 is... something, I guess. The FL can't cross (or go around, duh) a large puddle? Really? And the ML then just casually crosses it twice to carry her over? Really? That scene is too ridiculous even for daytime soaps.
I stand for Chae Ri. She is not FML but for now her character is very interesting compared to other female characters.
Yeah. The FL is meh and the blind date is a bit too desperate, only the producer has shown some actual growth (admittedly said growth is her not being such a bitch anymore, but still).
Best ML award goes to .....Just because FL likes him doesn't automatically makes him ML.Haejin is true Main Lead.…
"Haejin is true Main Lead. Screentime says it all. No arguments." As much as I hate the actor character, I have to agree. The judge has had, relative to the actor, very little screen time after the first couple of episodes. Now granted that's probably because the he isn't so scatter-brained and all over the place, making it more difficult to write scenes for him, but still, like you wrote, screen time says it all.
On the whole though, this show has terrible writers. There are only 3 characters that are in any way interesting to watch, namely the judge, the gayfriend, and the FL, and even then, the latter has the actress' fame doing most of the work.
The ML and FL are married on paper right? This should be solved quickly right… prolly won’t
I was wondering how her job even works. If she's a wife for hire, she can only ever have one client at a time (bigamy being illegal in SK), which would mean she's only had one client for the past 5 years (the ML). I mean, it's not like she divorced and remarried him three times a week.

"the main motivation was a selfish one"
That's why.
On a side note, how do you hotlink the person you're replying to on this site? I don't see any option for it.

The writers must've been scraping the bottom of the barrel to give them this as a "moment" and perpetuate the will they/won't they thing.

Why? I have never seen a kdrama, much less a romcom kdrama, get better towards the end.
