This series did not need the 2nd ML character. He is ruining FL happiness. I want him and the ex wife just leave…
Yeah, the SML is the thirdiest of third wheels. At least the ex wife and the governess have an actual role to play, while his character's just there for the love triangle tag.
my theories, i think the husband works as a prosecutor or investigator i guess? and the reason he wanted a contract…
He's definitely either a prosecutor or a detective; blue lanyard implying government work, mention of law on multiple occasions, crime scene photos, him trying to figure out how the murderer stabbed their victims, filthy rich (this makes me lean more towards prosecutor than detective, or he got his money other than through work),... As for the fake marriage, I'm guessing his ex dumped him because he's not normal, and he was lonely and wanted to connect with someone, or to try and figure out why he got dumped.
The other guy (the actor) is the definition of a third wheel though. I'd like the show more if he wasn't present.
I don't see a viable option other than a prosecutor.
Same here. I thought maybe lawyer, but I don't think they wear lanyards. Other than prosecutor, I can't think of any other public occupation that would make one so loaded and concerned about crimes.
Felt very much like watching a very unsubtle commercial by the South Korean government (or an investment firm, or both) to get people to start investing their money rather than save it. The characters are a big giveaway; investing's not just for stock brokers (ML), it's for average workers (FL), small business owners, retirees, and even children and the unemployed, so what are you waiting for, start investing NOW!!!
You mean the guy from vincenzo who played the younger brother turned good. Wah...cant wait.♥️
I know I'll get hated for this, but he was literally the only thing I even remotely liked about that show. The obnoxious, over the top humour wasn't my cup of tea so it did the opposite and irritated me, the ML might as well have been a mannequin, the FL was unremarkable, the side characters were annoying, the big bad was a joke, the plot was childish,...
This guy was by far the only good thing about it; he starts off as a generic bad guy, then he's shown to have been abused by both his father and brother, that's he's only his psychotic brother's puppet and punching bag, that he's desperate for someone to connect to, and when he does connect to the ML and stands up to his brother, the fucker kills him.
I gotta say it was kinda nice to discover that Japanese don't seem weird to just Westerners, their neighbours apparently find them goofy as well. (And obviously the other way around.)
He was doing it for her better she can not cry so yea but at the end of the day its your ponion
Yep, it's my opinion that abuse is never the right way to go when trying to help someone. This show was the emotional abuse equivalent of a parent beating their child to toughen them up.
You are my glory is also my favorite Chinese drama. Have you ever found other similar c-dramas that comes at least…
Sadly, no. It was really in a league of its own. I assume the massive advertising campaigns for the game and CNSA played a major part in this, as they probably ensured the creators didn't have to worry about ratings or funding, and could just focus on making the best show they could.
I wasn’t intending to comment about this show but wanted to say I agree with you wholeheartedly. YAMG ruined…
Maybe they have great chemistry once they get together (most likely towards the end of the show), but it doesn't matter, since the writing is so bad that I couldn't suffer through more than 2 episodes before dropping it.
What exactly did you like in "You are my Glory" apart from the two actors? I couldn't believe how they managed…
I considered the gaming and astronomy backgrounds as advertising, so I tuned them out. (Though considering the average age of gamers, there's nothing weird about advertising a STEM field to them. It could use several extra heavy doses of subtlety though.)
What was great about it though was everything else, really. Especially the mains and their relationship. No triangles/squares; no antagonist; no scheming; no annoying relatives; no breakup; no random tragedy; when the ML initially rejects the FL, she doesn't go whining and begging and chasing after him, she accepts it like an adult;..., it was just a nice, slow build-up. The tropes we can usually expect from a romcom nowadays are (with the exception of the purifier) only shown as flashbacks from when the leads were young (her bribing him to teach her (as opposed to now, when she just asks him), her using different accounts to add him as a friend, reading stuff just to have something to ask him,...), so it gives the show an additional satirical feel.
And this show in comparison: -the ML arrives to the FL's workplace, and they just let him into her office and leave him there without even checking his identity... -he doesn't want to work there so he cuts the power (how does he even know where an office building's fuse box is?) and dresses up as a ghost (where did he get a sheet?)... -he gets wrongly delivered food (a birthday cake, no-less), eats it, then goes and delivers the empty package to the recipient. -she gives him work he's obviously not trained to handle -he shares privileged info with a freaking competitor ... It's just all kinds of wrong.
*sighs* Why are all Chinese romcoms so...dumb? I've seen 2 episodes of this one, and already there've been well over half a dozen scenes that only an idiot could write, much less believe.
Ughh, You Are My Glory really ruined the genre for me. After seeing something that damn good, everything else just falls flat and fails to impress.

Still want the prosecutor to get the girl though.
