Title Jinxed at First Spoiler
Utter trash. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this show has lowered my opinion on Kdramas as a whole. The writing and/or source material for this show was apocalyptically bad.

How can a modern society be so backwards and superstitious, that when informed of a Fritzl experience going on, their main focus is on whether the victims were magical... I can't even...
Then there's the noble idiocy, as well as just plain old idiocy, Stockholm Syndrome, final episode amnesia,..., the list goes on and on.

They're not blood related and don't share the same family register. So legally they're not cousins and can marry.…
Uhh, what? Incest is not a religious topic, it's a sexual relationship between relatives. That's it.
(On a side note, religions say fucked up shit like it's OK to own people, so they can fuck right off.)

And your whole *their choice* argument is wrong because of the second reason incest is taboo, the power dynamic. It's not really a choice if an uncle and a niece are in a relationship, because the uncle would have too much power over the niece.

And that's it. This topic is making me feel disgusted, so I'm not replying anymore.

It seems like you live somewhere where incest is not only legal, but common enough for people to consider their relatives as potential romantic partners (that, or arranged marriages are what is keeping it alive). Now I'm actually quite curious which country you live in, if you don't mind sharing.

And I do get your point, you don't seem to get mine. The sheer fact that they need to get tested if they can have healthy children in the first place should be enough to have changed people's opinions on incestuous relationships long ago. I mean, what did they do before genetic testing?

Also, there's still the power dynamic to consider. And that, combined with inbreeding, made it easier for a lot of countries to just make incest (or at least incestuous marriage or offspring) illegal and not have to deal with it.

Watched the entire show, and, well, I was not impressed.
The leads spent more time arguing than not; the second couple was like nails on a chalkboard with the man being less expressive than a robot and the woman acting like a needy puppy; the ML's rival went completely psycho for 2 episodes a few episodes before the end for absolutely no reason,...
The show was just all over the place.

I'm not seeing the supposed chemistry between the leads. I'm currently 3 episodes in, and so far, when they were children, the ML has bullied (and supposedly secretly gotten others to bully) the FL so much she had to switch schools, when they met again as adults he prevented her from getting hired for a job, when she managed to get the job on her own he treats her like shit to make her quit, got her evicted from her home, and tricked her to move next door to him.
3 episodes in...

Now I'm sorry folks, but that's control freak and stalker territory. If anything, it's made me despise the ML (for obvious reasons) and dislike the FL (for not telling him to just fuck off and leave her alone), and no amount of "he was doing it because he cares" handwaving later on can change that.

Umm, tests aren't a solution, they're just how you find the problem. You can't test away genetic defects. So far, the only *solution* is abortion.
And inbreeding *is* a cause of serious medical issues.

Incest is illegal in a large part of the world, and for mainly 2 reasons:
1) Inbreeding. It increases the chances of genetic defects because of the smaller gene pool (think old European royalty).
2) The power dynamic in the relationship (aka grooming). Similarly to why teacher/student or doctor/patient relationships are frowned upon or even illegal in some parts of the world, in a parent/child, older/younger sibling,... relationship, one party has obvious power over the other.

Ughh, and now I'm on some very dangerous lists for googling this topic.

Ha ha . . . pain, I'm trying to pick my poison. Suffer by waiting that long to see the series or to suffer through…
Yeah, it's a tough choice.

*Sighs*
And here comes the storm. Kind of dreading that the reveal came with 14 episodes to go, since that implies that it's gonna be a long and drawn out crisis.
Now to wait 7 weeks for all the episodes to come out so that I can watch them all at once and fast forward through the angsty melodrama.

@RMG
That's my opinion as well. There's nothing to blame her for when it comes to the FL's birth other than her being more focused on her career and social status than on the FL and her father.
What can absolutely be blamed on her however, is her lying and keeping quiet about having a secret child when tapped for the governmental position. Any issue that comes from that is 100% on her.

19 episodes in, and as far as I can remember, I've yet to see the second female lead wear anything longer than hot pants, even in winter.
Is she famous for her legs, or was it in her contract that she had to show them in literally every scene she's in?

IIRC it was said that the game has a function where people on your friend list can watch and record your matches, and one of them did so when she was playing and then leaked the video.

You're monsters, the lot of you :p.
Seriously though, it's insanely disturbing to me, because it just feels so fake and wrong. Not to mention that it's impossible to get the audio in perfect sync with the video even if done by the same actor, as well as the obvious studio-recorded audio feeling completely out of place when the video shows them being outdoors, in a large hall,...

Title Link: Eat, Love, Kill Spoiler
ML was from a rich family. They have implied that throughout the series. Could easily have been inheritance money…
Don't think it was ever implied his family was wealthy, but OK.

Not loathe the FL, but the FL's mother. And considering how close the FL is with her, that's a recipe for a messy breakup.

Title Link: Eat, Love, Kill Spoiler
The writing for this show was just terrible.
-Why would a serial killer (and/or child molester) in the making recruit a partner that he planned to dispose of later on anyways?
-Why would anyone, no matter how tired they were, just leave a child that came asking for help, in a back alley, at night, when he has a car?
-Where did the ML get so much money to be able to support his mother, rent 2 floors of a building, renovate a restaurant, and buy a forest, all while living without any income for months?
-Why would a cop dump the body of a kidnapper who died in a struggle? I know SK doesn't allow killing in self-defence, but this could be explained away as a suspect resisting arrest and assaulting the officer.
-Why would someone hide a body in a fridge?

There's just so many times in this show that make one wonder "Why?", and the answer (if even provided) is never even remotely reasonable or sensical.

*edit*
Oh, and also; there is absolutely no way the lead couple would last, not with what the FL's mother did (or didn't do). The ML would loathe her almost as much as he loathes himself.

Title It's Beautiful Now Spoiler
is writer ruining drama again as i expected?
Not sure. It honestly all depends on how they're gonna portray the show's biggest issue, the adopted mother, and the whole pseudo-incest thing it'll imply.
Everything else so far has been pretty much as expected from a soap, though.

I use PotPlayer on my PC, and it has an awesome feature; skip to next (or previous) subtitle line, so I can effectively watch an entire episode in like 10-15 minutes and not miss anything :).

Not just you, by a long shot. Actor changes are pretty much universally hated. I'd be willing to bet even shaky cam is less hated.
