Coming to a drama that has nothing to do with her and hating on the actress in her name will do nothing but spoil the reputation of her fans.

Just here for trouble. Cause it's not even as if the actresses are releasing dramas at the same time, the only similar thing anyone can say is that its historical. Even the set ups and background are not the same. In which case it would still be wrong, but at least there's a connection

I think you're being unnecessarily mean, actors pick scripts that look good. I didn't like sword and brocade because of the writing, and I think Minglan can be considered the holy grail of Cdramas. But even though, it's not appropriate to talk bad about Seven or this new drama because of those factors.
This drama is it's own thing, not every historical drama is trying to copy Minglan, they're following their own scripts.
And Seven is a wonderful star actress.

I love slice of life dramas. And that's probably why I enjoyed it so far. But this arc they're about to embark on with a tour or something trying to make stand up comedy profitable is a bit outside slice of life.
My problem is, if we're going to leave realism of slice of life dramas, let the romance make up for it.
But not here, they're going down an idealistic and revolutionary route and there's not even enough romance to make it worthwhile for me.

I mean, it's not bad but... i might have to put this on hold, or reduce my rating or something.
The corporate aspect seems to end here (I really loved it), and the romance between the leads has been none existence so far (till EP 19 from the trailers) so I'm loosing interest.
I must admit that I also kind of have second lead syndrome here. I wouldn't mind her ending up with the Investor man. He really seems to enjoy and respect her. He also has his shit together. He's an ideal boyfriend, but I guess you like who you like, the heart wants what the heart wants. Someone being good doesn't mean you have to end up with him.
In fact, I might have 3rd lead syndrome cause her ex never seemed like too bad of an option to me (I might read a little too much dark romances that my toxic Rader is messed up)
Despite the good looks of the ML, I'm not feeling him. He doesn't give a secure or dependable vibe.

The friends stand was so disappointing. I've never had friends advice me so badly. And I never advice friends so badly. They should look at the bigger picture, like Zheng Hao, cause that's life.

The way l see it, most stand up comedians move into mainstream entertainment with movies and hosting

There has been for years. I remember years ago my parents buying "Nite of a thousand laughs" CD.
That was a standup club as I understand it. When I was a student too, lots of comedians came out for every talent show and the really popular ones organized shows right from school.
Like they rent a theater, people buy tickets, they get sponsors and hold a whole show.
I still follow quite a number of them on social media so I still see them moving in that field. Oneheld a show recently in Lagos "Untitled: comedy by new school"
Most hold shows in Lagos and I guess Abuja and PH.
A lot of them also use the tag events MC and hosts.

I agree. It would be nice to see her being a corporate worker and balancing her hobby and stress releasing side gig.

That joke and even the one she gave when defending herself was too tasteless of a serious leader to take. She should have taken proper precautions to prevent problems like this. Not just in China, anywhere. You want the face of your company to be professional.
It doesn't seem fair but humans have their pride. And it's not wrong to protect your pride. So the chairman isn't wrong to have hang ups around this career. When you have multiple qualified candidates, you consider your feelings in showing favour and the safe option, after all the chairman wants a sustainable company. It's what makes us human and not robots.

I think he answered intelligently. He did do research cause he was interested in it. He didn't even focus on the profit, he was about the scope and scale. I personally don't think stand up comedy can be an industry too. And if it can, there would need to be a big chain and series of investments to ensure sustainability. With reports and target meetings. Unless it's becomes a loan or donation not an investment.
FL said, stand up comedy is an offensive art or something. That definition in itself tells you it's going to have a lot of issues in China's culture. Where they're strict about family and office hierarchy. You mock your parents or upbringing cancelled. You mock your office, cancelled, you mock the government cancelled. The scope that's socially acceptable to work with is too narrow.
if you check most stand up comedians in West, they get into mainstream media kind of from entertainment, do movies, hosting events and game shows.
In my head, the host of programs like the spring festival gala can be called a stand up comedian. They don't even have a good enough case for him to give a donation. I don't like how they're trying to gaslight him.
The insistence of the whole friend group on FL picking stand up comedy is kind of turning me off this drama to be honest. If she could continue as she has been, combining work and stand up it's the best, but just stand up? When they don't even do promotion or any form of publicity. It's not even as if her shows draw a large audience. Just the same people in the circle rotating. Most of which are struggling comedians too.
Comedians these days put a lot in publicity like other musical artists.
The bar boss, just wants money to keep the bar afloat. There's no plan on how to make the bar profitable. FL's friend who is a novice could tell he can't run a bar well. And his stand up is also hit or miss. Not good enough for customers to refer others

All her jokes in the chairman's presence aren't the best for the occasion. She has other materials that are equally as funny. These superior jokes aren't it for the situations.
I personally think those trying to convince her to pick stand up are bad friends.
It's not fair on her. And knowing fully well the struggles in that life, they're bad friends for pushing her that way.
A truly good friend would realistically advice you in the more stable way and support you while looking for ways around the corner rather than persuade you out. Then if you choose the hard path, they'll hold your hand through it

I mean, let's be honest, realistically Zheng Hao is correct.
I feel bad cause she was going well with the show until that joke. And that's part of the chairman's realistic fear. Some clients might take offense with the art.
I wish her whole set had nothing mean about the chairman, it would have been lovely to see the man enjoy the whole show and possibly complement her after. I wonder if he would still have asked her to quit it.
And she or at least her name is a very much affiliated with the company.
I don't really like how the show balances things, in Nigeria too stand up comedy is an emerging industry cause people see it like a pleasure thing. I know someone who still has a cooperate job in addition to it. And like he creates clear boundaries with stand up and cooperate work. He has a stage name, doesn't perform on stage at work and rarely makes critical jokes about the company.

They're dating, but in the proper sense of the term. They're definitely not yet in an established relationship. I mean, when you meet someone, unless you school or work together, you need to go on some dates to get familiar with each other before you agree to be in an established relationship

I feel so bad after watching EP 16 teaser.
I'm sad they went about making her resign. But then that's the way it tends to be with the people who start up an industry.
I wished they found some other solutions that are more stable. Like her using a stage name, since her job is usually writing so she doesn't affect the company, or her rejecting the promotion and remaining an ordinary staff or something or the chairman compromising that she only performs in her Banghe Bar club. The stage name is the best solution I could come up with. But I'm sure if they try, they could have found a balance.
Still, the logic is good. I can understand them.
I'm just bothered that if she ends up with Shi Ye, 2 jobless people aren't a stable foundation for a relationship.

I must commend this drama. Asides all the other good things the teasers are actually good.
Out of all the dramas released in recent times, probably within the last 2 years I've actively been obsessed, this drama gives the best and most concise teasers. Usually the teasers tend to be misleading and building up unnecessary angst (I remember during the airing of AYTO people in the comment section were battling and getting angry based on teasers only to watch the actual episode and realise things are not even as they appeared)
The teasers are actually comforting to watch and give the right build up to anticipation. I love them. They don't actually answer questions of cliffhangers and are all feel good

Yeah, and she's totally in the wrong. There's no way to twist it against the FL. But then, I never rated her once I heard her say they should skip FL for the team lead position cause she's a good executor despite the FL handling petty tasks for her. Without complaints

I'm actually loving this. In a weird way. While watching it I feel like it's very slice of life, but like nothing crazy. And then the episode ends and I find myself crazy for more. I've never been more tempted to pay for express episode than with this show.
It's crazy how it's subtly making me obsessed

I sometimes think K-ent could do with a little bit of the censorship C-ent has. Cause a lot of kdramas have been disappointing lately. Especially when you consider real life issues plaguing the country, you'd expect the media to at least frictionally solve them or work as positive propaganda. But no, we get disappointments like this
