No, I meant they were together BEFORE KiHo ever got to Chunsam Island - maybe very close to the time they were split. Maybe that incident WooHak first remembered is when his dad went crazy again and hit him so that he lost his memories. And THEN his dad took KiHo to Chunsam Island where he spent some time (even trying to run away once or twice) before he helped MokHa escape herself.

I mean, that picture shows them - with Crazy Dad AND their mother - and KiHo is in there, looking pretty much as he did on Chunsam Island. So that makes me think he was still in Seoul shortly before he got to the island. Only his dad could've taken him.... and he had either divorced the mom OR she has hid the amnesiac son in the hospital (I think it would've been easier for her to take him away secretly if her husband wasn't watching her 24x7. And maybe she just couldn't take KiHo too...)

You know, this makes me more convinced BoGeol is KiHo. Because WooHak would've been in hospital still when MokHa and KiHo were in trouble on Chunsam Island.

Yeah but he didn't change it by marriage, but (probably) by being adopted to his new father. AND maybe as a measure of witness protection (his dad DID lose his police position this time so maybe they pulled some strings to protect the kid KiHo).

There is zero chance of Shu being Zhang ZheHan, if you mean the ZZH of WoH. He's still banned in China, he's building a new career as a singer in Taiwan right now.

There IS a picture under Guo XingQi who's credited as playing Shu, under his name, and makeup does wonders.

I think Crazy Dad left Seoul after WooHak lost his memory - maybe he fled to escape being accused of hurting him, or maybe he truly believed he and his mother were dead. So WooHak wouldn't have any Chunsam Island memories since he only went there with MohHa when she visited.

Women don't usually take their husband's name in Korea and China (I don't remember how it goes in Japan right now). So she wouldn't easily change it, normally... unless she's lying. But she has a business, she HAS to have licences and stuff.

But she's divorced from him - I mean, she remarried. Maybe they split the kids in the divorce. She's limping, I guess he let her go in order to not be outed as a DV abuser and keep his job - though since he has two beds in his Seoul falling-down house, maybe he did have to leave his previous posting in the capital and went all the way to Chunsam Island (bumf*ck nowhere).

And maybe that's why KiHo was documenting everything - maybe his mom couldn't even prove the DV since she had no proof, so he HAS to photo and video everything to be believed. He was already preparing to run away again when MokHa's trouble arrived and he lost that chance.

And maybe the fight that had WooHak lose his memory happened just a little BEFORE Craxy Dad took KiHo to the island and that's why there are pics where they're about the same age as KiHo 15 years back...

And FINALLY we have someone who thinks before he jumps - well, now he's old anyway. I LOVED LSJ's expression when "Emperor of Sugar" hahaha straight out called him on his duplicity - when he's no longer useful to LSJ, he can expect to lose everything just as RanJoo did! YOU BET HE WOULD!! Great call, Daddy Hwang!!

For some crazy reason, I never thought they were BOTH Crazy Dad's kids, I mean, KiHo never said he wasn't an only child. The first hint were the double-level kids' beds, LOL. But if there's just a year in between them, they HAVE to be blood brothers.

I wonder if mom tells her who KiHo is. And mom is also limping, so there's her reason to leave Crazy Dad, if him being crazy wasn't enough.

DAMMIT, where's the rest of the series?! This kind of dramas should be released all at once for bingewatchers like me to not go mad waiting!!!!

Also, Crazy Dad is immensely crazy - when I saw that white car, my heart skipped a beat, because WooHak's car is white too. I hope DaeWoong's partner (MokHa's ex-BFF) calls KiHo and tells him.

And I LOLed at Mokha - "here, have some dried persimmons, they're just great and... ARE YOU GOING TO EAT ALL THAT??" hahaha!

Coming from yaoiland, the tropes are all here and the story borders at times on sexual harassment and frankly even SA but then, that's the whole thing about yaoiland - it builds on clichees and bets on chemistry to have it succeed. And this one did all the right things, from that perspective.

NGL, this one was won for me by Hsiao Hung's huge smile - I have a thing for smiles, and he has a great one. Also, very mobile facial expressions, LOL. And then there's the humour - there's just something about Taiwanese dramas' humour that really clicks with me for some reason.

Overall, yaoi fluff is yaoi fluff and it hit the spot for me at the right time.

So, TGCF second season has started, and I keep getting reminders of the fake wedding between Xie Lian and Hua Cheng LOL. And then there's the fake wedding between MoRan and CWN and that too ended up mattering a LOT. This was yet another reminder - fake weddings are only fake til it matters, and then they're 1000% real! :D

I know that's the usual way it deals out (I've seen lots of xianxia and wuxia where they pull armies out of the director's sleeves, LOL), it's still remains that the Cui Army attacked and killed off a lot of them, despite the Zhenxi Army saving the very same Cui Army leaders that have now betrayed them.

Ruthless but totally ungrateful - I hope someone goes and puts Cui Lin stand-in out of his misery the soonest. If he could plan and execute that, he has no morals and deserves no chance at redemption.

If the Zhenxi Army is totalled, he'll have to go in hideout or on the run - I don't bet on his brothers or father protecting him in Luoyang. And so will Pei Yuan and the very few people he still has. And if he had a chance to protect the other surviving grandson, it's gone now.

If I were him, there would be no coming back from that - I mean, it's like he gave her his heart completely and unreserved, and she (through her allies and closest friends) cut it up, salted it and handed it to him on a platter.

I guess if we're going to have a HEA there will be lot of moments she can redeem Cui Lin stand-in's fault, but still... We're in ep 14 only, LOL, 26 more painful possibilities await :D

What the hell goes through Cui Lin stand-in's head though?!!! What is he even THINKING?? She won't CARE about his reasoning, even if military sound - the Zhenxi Army SAVED their freaking ASSES what the hell!! I mean, there is no more Zhenxi Army right now, what does Pei Yuan have with him, two dozen men? Even if in pure wuxia manner some tens of thousands come up from the underground for reasons - a LOT of them are dead by the hands of the Cui army...

I can totally see this putting huge barriers in front of their romance, even if it's clarified.

And she totally WLL take advantage of it, because she can't help it - she has other things to think about than what will Li Ni believe...

In a sadistic kind of way, though, I loved Li Ni's shocked expression in the last part of ep14. Does that make me a bad guy? Who cares, he has beautiful eyes (even when in shock).

I can't find any reference to a voice actor dubbing him in that drama, so that's just indirect proof he did dub himself. I haven't watched it (I don't like Republican era dramas) so I can't tell for myself. But they do try to use voice actors who have similar tones to the ones they're dubbing, so who knows...

AFAIK, he did use his own (very nice) voice in She and Her Perfect Husband (and also in Lost in Kunlun Mountains, though I haven't watched that one).

There was a very long trend of having voice actors dub the actual actors - particularly in historical/wuxia/xianxia dramas, mainly for 1. accent, 2, time constraints or 3. the producers wanted a different voice than the actual actor's. Now the censors have been cracking down even on THIS industry (voice acting) so that more dramas are having the actual actors do their own dubs. In some cases (like in TTEOTM) it's a total win (I mean, if you hear LYX's actual voice you can't help but admit it's just perfect for the characters he's playing) so I think that'll make the producers be more courageous and let their main actors voice themselves. Maybe WoL was filmed before it became the rule of the land, LOL. (I have to admit it, his voice actor has a very nice voice, too - very soothing and expressive.)

As for WHY is dubbing or re-dubbing needed anyway - filming environment in China is pretty noisy. They're doing more than one drama or movie at a time even in Hengdian, so the sound isn't really great and they have to clean it all up in studio, and that means re-dubbing is necessary.
