I have one major issue with the drama - they keep trying to frame Tantai Jin as this evil demonic god, when he…
She's of the "just a little pregnant" mindset, IMHO. If someone does something she considers bad, then they are BAD. If they don't do anything she considers bad, then they are GOOD. She used to be an Immortal, with lofty ideals and a sheltered life. And she came to destroy the worst evil the world will see in the future, BEFORE he becomes evil.
It makes sense, in a way... since once he turns evil, it'll be too late to do anything about it.
in the novel, TTJ and YXW misunderstand each other till the very last second, every damn time. i absolutely LOVED…
Yeah, you know, in SVSSS, Luo BingHe keeps Shen QingQiu's dead body for FIVE YEARS so a month is just rookie numbers. Of course, SQQ actually returns to that body too, LOL, so it's a good thing LBH kept it. But he didn't know that and he was keeping it for his own little psycho reasons :D
I haven't read the novel for TTEOTM... and I'm enjoying the drama so much I am starting to wonder if I should read it. I mean, I like a psycho MC, but I want to like him as a good guy, too - and LYX as TTJ is killing me from ep. 1.
I dont get the FL, she was mad because he killed a couple of people. They are at war and hundreds are dying, being…
It wasn't that he killed two people, it was who those people were - AND the delivery of the news. He had the same eyes and expression as when she asked him to imagine he's killing her, back in the first episode. She just got reminded he's going to become the Devil God.
If TTJ could enter the Sheng palace and kill the Emperor this easily, why hasn't he done it earlier?
He didn't want to. He even tried to reason with XL to stop it all before too many of their people die. But the Sheng wanted blood so here we are.
Also, the theft and desecration of his mother's bones probably got him raging mad and he didn't care any more if he was successful or not before he went there.
TTJ how dare you humiliate someone who has never wronged you? Bingshang has never do anything bad to you, does…
She threw herself in his arms, basically, while her (proffered loving) husband is still freaking alive somewhere. What about Xiao Lin's dignity? Why should TTJ give her respect for betraying her husband like that at the drop of a hat?!
This was such a rollercoaster of emotions... From couple's outfits to couple's quarrel then sudden blackening…
You could SEE his heart breaking in that confrontation - I hated YXW for deciding beforehead he must've done something unwarranted.
What IS that spell? Is he really cursed to die in a few months? If Emperor Sheng managed to curse him, why doesn't MingLan wait for it to happen?
YBC, oh YBC... Poor XL. Poor any man who trusts this woman... She just went and assumed she'd get at least a concubine spot by TTJ, just because she has the threads and she wants to be safe. And at the same time, TTJ is hallucinating YXW everywhere, LOL.
The way the Moonlight Guard broke the sad moment of separation, LOL. TTJ and YXW were being so angry with each other etc, and the Guard would go back and forth like - WHAT's going on here? WHAT are they doing? HUH?! LOL
The little fox, oh poor little fox... He won't let her be a mistress only and she can't cope, LOL. I want to see them get a HEA in this lifetime, at least :D
PS I'm still processing the love confession.
It was like TTJ goes - The one who taught me what love (and everything else) is, is you, YXW. You're the one I love. You're the only one I could ever love. If I could only love a person, it can ONLY be you.
Like, WHAT? Do you know how high this sets a girl's standards LOL?
This was such a rollercoaster of emotions... From couple's outfits to couple's quarrel then sudden blackening and a snake inserted in the garden, to FINALLY communication and yet again sweetness!
I can see the dark times ahead, but I'm enjoying the journey still.
So, TTJ, how come YXW threw the Little Jin in the water clothed, and you gave it back to her naked? Hmm? A Freudian slip there? :D
Did I miss something? Why did TTJ say in episode 20 that YXW mustn't find out his handwriting has changed? Why…
He got hurt and didn't want to tell her ('cause he likes her). The fox spilled the beans when she told the reason for no letters to YXW and YXW immediately decided to go there and check on him herself.
The actor needs to win an award for how she manages to do a boring villain. It is quite a rare and unappreciated…
RunYu's NOT a villain (do I have to get my twin fiery swords after all? :D)
I have to say it - it was the exact moment I fell in love with LYX as a period/costume drama actor. I've seen him in modern dramas (including in Love is Sweet) but there's something about him in white flowing robes and that long black hair, and those expressive eyes, and that hidden strength - there's grace all over him. I wasn't really surprised to learn he's trained as a professional ballet dancer.
Ten Miles and Who Rules the World has low rating on Douban. Both are high regarded Cdrama on international market.…
Paraphrasing a lot:
BftB blurb: Ancient dragon loses his bones through treason and then starts looking for them as they were sealed in the four directions, assisted by a girl who might have an idea what happened with them in the first place, and her sect might be involved. There's also something way bigger taking place, something that needed the dragon bones. Part of the bones are hidden deep within a lake. Eventually love happens.
CC blurb: Ancient dragon ongoing tribulation is trapped and his bones removed until only his soul remains. Trying to get his bones that were sealed in the four directions (and his memory of what happened) back, the dragon meets a mysterious monk who's also amnesiac and together they track down each bone. There's a huge conspiracy that needs the dragon bones to succeed, and they have to unseal an underwater tomb in order to get part of the bones. Eventually love happens.
You tell me how similar that sounds :(
Tell you what - if in BftB there's a near-blind seer, a bunch of temple acolytes looking for a mysterious saintly (or maybe criminal) figure, a bunch of mystic insects (two types of paired spiders in particular), I won't care if the words are different or not. Edit Oh and an ancient, talking crow, or a ghost of a sect master that guards a burned down temple.
I wonder if anyone read both novels and felt they sounded pretty similar. And I don't care which came first - if it would be CC that plagiarised the other, I'd still feel rather bad over it, despite it being one of my favourites.

How about Back from the Brink, upcoming drama based on a novel? The intro to the drama sounds so EXTREMELY similar to Mu Su Li's Copper Coins danmei novel it's making me cringe hard every time I'm reading it.
I don't know which one came first, but I have read Copper Coins and it's one of the best danmei novels I've read. If BftB copied it... I know there's not much recourse possible for danmei authors, but it would really sour the experience of cdramas for me if it did turn out to be a plagiarised story.

His fragile look there and the horrific power he was gathering are such a nice parallel to hostage prince TTJ...
