I have watched many gay series and a few Thai BL's. I haven't watched all Thai BL series though. The reason I get so hyped with TharnType because I find it relatable in a way. I was never like this inbother Thai BL series even though I also love Together with Me. But TharnType holds a special place in my list of gay series. I find it amazing and unexpected to see their Mew and Gulf's acting skills and palpable chemistry. The kisses feel so real to me, not too mechanical. I hope you get what I'm saying about kisses.

I am not sure if I am glad that I have shared too much information about a part of myself in this platform. Anyways, it was done with a purpose.

So far, I haven't seen any farcical moments except when Type managed to throw and demean his roommate's things inside their dorm room. If I were Tharn in that position, I would have already reported Type. But then Tharn also had his revenge so it was even for them. Was that moment a farce? It could be constituted as bullying but Tharn was no weakling. He could also take revenge.

Moreover, the series' characters are relatable. Type's hatred towards gays was stemmed from a traumatic experience. But his recent actions towards other gay guys can be regarded as defense mechanism. I have gay friends who still despise lady boys. Yes, transphobia also exists even within LGBTQIA. This kind of attitude is not really far from Type's though.

I think it has softened in episode7. I also think his actions constitute defense mechanism. I would say his attitude is his way of coping from a very bad experience. He has trust issues and he manages to deal it thru a risk by hooking up with Tharn. That one sexual experience as sort of exchange for good deeds has led to another.

Ok, based from my experience, I used to be homophobic. I despised lady boys before. It was until I met a very beautiful man of my height and is close to my residence when I was already out from college that made me question my sexuality. That guy I wanted to hook up with was 'straight' until we hooked up thru certain effort. He became bi and we got into relationship for 7 years, on and off. I was young and stupid at that time since it was my first. He got married with a girl just this year and got 'fat'. Anyways, I am not body-shaming but when I saw him accidentally last week, just recently, I already confirmed to myself that I already moved on from him.

I know, it's TMI. But I don't want to waste my time typing and sharing my stories unless I want to make a point.

Anyways, I confirmed to myself that I am really gay though I am on a more masculine side. Many of my gay friends are also masculine looking. But I am now comfortable being friends with transgender unlike before. I have a bisexual friend who is into trans. So there.

-I used to be homophobic until I have had my first gay relationship. That's why I somehow feel Type in a way. I was not molested though but I know of stories of a few who were molested when they were children. Some acquaintances. But that didn't deter their preference for men especially when they are attracted to someone. That homophobia stemmed from my upbringing until I said 'fuck it' to religion. I almost punched a gay guy when I was younger and still homophobic. And that was a learning experience for me.

- despite my family having an idea about my sexuality, I am not really out to them. But I am out to my friends.

- I have a very close friend who managed to turn someone gay. The partner also became my friend. He used to date girls prior to hooking up with my close friend. And now, he's the bottom of their relationship and they got married in Europe. Since they are citizens of countries where same-sex marriage is legal, it's easy for them.

And as for kisses, gay couples especially young ones are very amorous when they're in their private moments. Two of my gay couple friends even make out publicly but not too affectionate as to cause public scandal.

I think @reefpicker shared a story with his past relationship that may be somehow similar to Type's situation.

Perhaps, the thing that some people would like to know or find is in the drama of a person who is closeted and who has gone through traumatic situations similar to Type's. I have read some gay stories regarding that. But I felt like it was very overdramatic.

I have a friend who went thru a few abusive gay relationships. It was fucked up. I introduced him to meditation practices and recommended him on the teaching of sexual healing, sex tantra. So far, he has gotten well and is married now with a guy.

You may or may not believe the stories I have shared. It's up to you. I just feel that TharnType storyline is closer to reality. And some realities in gay relationships are even weirder than what you have found in BL.

If you're a gay man and in a gay relationship, or at least you were in this sort of relationship, you would find that the situations in TharnType are realistic. At least, in my case, they are. I have based my experiences as well as of my best friends and close friends in the gay community.

Another scene where Type is full of contradictions is when he discussed a lot of things about Tharn to his dad. I would even say TMI Type. He went on and on about Tharn. Lol

Mew and Gulf really seem to radiate couple vibe. Since the beginning of this series, even when they were still enemies, there was something there. But it was in episode 5 that I could sense a certain something. This recent episode, Gulf's smile extends to his eyes. He becomes more attractive. That was the scene when he wore the oversized shirt and was discussing with Mew on that scene. And their kisses. Wow! I can really see how they used their tongues when they kissed in this episode. They are actually good kissers.

What makes their pairing hotter is that they seem to be of the same height.

I know right. They seem to be in that status. I even watched those YT vids and reuploads from Twitter and fb published on TharnType YT channel. My initial impression of these vids was that they were doing it for fan service. But over the weekend watching those vids again, I come to think that it wasn't Mew that was only clingy. And why do in some vids they always held hands?

They seem to send a statement but most people would just take those acts as fanservice.

Anyways, some people might find it delusional. But I always apply the philosophical adage and that is 'the truth of one may not be the truth of another.'

Again, this episode is really great. I give it a 10.But one thing, which I didn't point out in my previous comment is that Type is full of contradictions. In one scene, he stated that their relationship would be kept secret forever. But in the restaurant scene, his actions can make anyone think they really are boyfriends.In the last scene of this episode, I thought Type was afraid that he would be seen gay by Tharn's family when the latter wanted to bring him to Tharn's house. But I think he was more afraid on how Tharn's family would perceive of him as Tharn's sex buddy a.k.a. boyfriend. LolThat's why I think Tharn is more amused of his boyfriend's actions because of these contradictions.

Another great episode. The last clip on LineTV is full of romantic scenes of the two main leads. They really radiate real couple vibe especially that last scene on the bed scene as they discuss Tharn's birthday plans. How Mew can easily kiss Gulf's skin without any hint of cringe from the latter really amazed me. And their kisses... damn! I think it's the best kissing scenes in BL that I can really see the actors are really into their characters. It's like they're really in love in this episode and it shows in this episode. Mew's kisses on episode 5 were kinda chaste for me. But they had real passion when they kissed on episode 6 especially on the part on the bed scene that culminated their boyfriend status. This episode 7 though, Mew really went all out in making out with Gulf on the bed scene. I hope they show more of their love scene. Lol.

Even if this is aired on a terrestrial channel in Thailand but I think it's still independently-produced. It's kinda an indie film if I can liken it.

Of course, the producers need to get their return of investment from the production of this series. This is still a for-profit venture.

And I think Thai's BL industry has already taken note on the new formula to make a Thai BL overwhelming successful. SOTUS was the benchmark for many of Thai BL series eventually released subsequent to SOTUS. As for kissing scenes, it's MaxTul's TWM. And I won't be e surprised if other Thai BL producers will apply this series' formula. It's going to be an exciting BL industry in Thailand as it slowly gains international recognition.

While Japan is still very popular with animes and mangas, SK for K-pop, Thailand has become a factory of sort of BL shows. Thailand's strong competition is Taiwan though.

You're not alone with your assessment. It sometimes confuses me but I think that is an element that makes the series very successful. This episode is full of scenes that really give anyone the feels of two persons being in love. It's about love. Also, Gulf is getting more handsome in this episode. He and Mew are really a good match.

I saw those comments Liz and that really triggered me to argue with them. I never thought I would be this active in this platform. I used to be just casual visitor of this site. But the rate of hate comments and negative opinions are flooding this part of this site that I couldn't help but decide to voice my opinion.

They may be MewArt fans who can't get over the fact that their ship already sunk at the bottom, nowhere to be found. Lol

I used to see fondness at their pairing at wtd but there was a couple fb lives that I feel real awkwardness. It's how I see it at that time. I also checked and watched Bearling YT channel. Most of the time though, I felt like it was all Mew's efforts. I thought it would be a vlog channel for a gay couple. Apologies for those who are hurt by my frankness.

Anyways, Gulf is very pretty for me while Mew is elegantly beautiful and handsome. Again, they really look perfect together. It happens that they have similar in height though based on their profiles, Gulf is taller than Mew. That same level in height really is a big factor in their being a perfect couple visually.

The girlfriend rumour will remain a rumour until Gulf honestly confirms it.

And as for Mew and Hither, you really know what part of the series in that episode that best exemplifies their probable chemistry. I actually thought Tum was Tharn's ex when the latter stared at the former in that episode.

Despite my stance of the possibility of real-life couples in BL, I recently think that that it might be better for these actors to have different male partners in different series in BL. It's up to the viewers to choose which of the partners have real, believable chemistry. It's about acting work anyways.

This pattern is what we see in hetero couples in mainstream series. Why not also apply it in BL.

Honestly, this is a big risk for producers. Whether we like it or not, the BL industry capitalizes on the shippers' demand.

Anyways, I have to be honest here. The biggest indirect competitors of BL industry are those gay couple YouTubers. These YouTubers get sponsorships for being real and they almost get the proceeds 100 per cent. I mean mostly. Meanwhile, these BL actors may have to get the talent fee but it depends on their market value. The proceeds of their sponsorships they will receive might be less after the cut from their agents and managers.

If you really follow Both and New Year, they already live a good life from their sponsorship. Both is a dentist though.

Okay, about New Year in BL, I think he has to be paired with an actor compatible for him. The last pair he had on I am Your King was not really fit for him ,IMHO. They don't have chemistry. Honestly, pairing New Year with a girl in a series won't really do good things for him as a gay vlogger. Both and New Year already have huge following. Their fans may not be able to adjust easily if New Year is paired with an actor in BL. Hopefully, they can act together.
