It was bittersweet though. The scene where it contrast the group singing and dancing to XL covered in blood, fighting.

FL though... so boyish and charming. Love how dense he is. I forgot how well he got along with XY (everybody) in the novel.

Ep 27, though it lacked XL and CX... XY and Jing's moments were so, so heart fluttering.

Why is it that every time XY, XL, and Jing are in the same screen, it’s so intense.
XY, our traumatized FL. I don’t want to see any more comments saying that she’s a victim. XY is smart, cunning, and sly; XL could already tell that from their first meeting the way she sugarcoats all her words to appease him. She uses Jing for CX and uses XL to provoke Jing then settles for FL when XL rejects her. I’m completely fine with her weighing all her options because whoever she ends up marrying will determine her fate. You know that Chinese proverb “Marry a chicken, follow a chicken; marry a dog, follow a dog”. I’m just pointing out that she’s not as dense, innocent, or naïve as many thinks she is.

The funniest thing about XL is that he’s broke. The way the waiter talked down to him and he got mad. XY was like “do you know who you’re talking to” and was fearful that he might kill. Love that only she can calm him down and isn’t afraid to laugh at him… especially when she asked him about the payment for the bow. That scene of him walking away when they were in the entertainment house is foreshadowing so much. It perfectly explains their relationship. He’ll always be unattainable to her and at a distance where she watches him walk away.

Poor Jing. He’s been trying so hard to tie up loose ends while trying to please everyone around him. He’s got so much on his plate and yet, he remains kind and selfless. His grandmother lying to him was a slap in the face. After his promise to XY and asking her to wait, how can he explain himself now that his grandmother refuses to break off the engagement? I feel for him because he isn’t ruthless to where he’ll kill and yet, he’s too soft-hearted to where those around him will get hurt. His softheartedness is a double edge sword.
We didn’t get to see CX enough today. His conversation with XY at the end, she knows him so much and she has a good judgement of character. She knows enough about FL to know that he’s exactly like CX, meaning his ambitions will always be first, not her. Women are disposable and XY wants someone who will put her first.

Ep 27. was wild. Things are picking up.

Nobody is awful. They are all flawed and characters with complicated lives.

I think we need to see it from their pov. Jing lacks the ruthlessness that XL and CX has cause he was showered with love and care growing up while XL and CX both lack the selflessness he possesses cause they had to defend themselves from very early on.

When it comes to pursuing his lover though, Jing's more bold than CX and XL. He's outspoken and carries his heart openly for her to see whereas the other two hides it. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. That's why I love all four of the leads so much.

That moment will be coming up soon!! And what does he do? He does nothing.

Though XY doesnt do it in a bold way, like "i like you", she does it in such a symbolic way that ONLY the two of them understands and knows the meaning.

I also like to add that when she was staring at him, she was smiling ... even tried to hide it a bit then came back to reality.

XL didnt open his eyes until she left. They share the lovers bug which means he felt all her emotions in those moments and then felt sad when he remembers that they are not ideal and best to not pursue.

XL and XY's scenes are intense and you can't help but want more.

TSJ and XY's scenes are heart fluttering. I get butterfllies watching them.

Their scenes are on 🔥🔥. I think what makes their scenes so intense is the passion, eye contact, lack of physical contact, and sexual tension behind every word and action. It's slow burn filled with lots of angst and denial, and longing to touch. It's the forbidden fruit for us.

Ok ep 25 was an emotional roller coaster but ep 26 outshined. Not in the emotional aspect but in the bringing forth and solidifying all things for future episodes. The foundation has been built.

This episode was very satisfying... happy to see all the leads and side characters in one scene. That meet up with all the young masters and misses was hilarious. Everyone's so fake and sus of each other. The body languages, side eyes, little hidden smirks, and long sighs, I loved it. Replayed that scene so many times.

CX and Xing Yue's scene was sad. The way he hesitated to hug her back and push her away. Then that transition over to FFB's past was so good. I'm happy XL got to experience some sort of love in his life. Even if it wasn't romantic love, love from a parent is so important in a child's life. Also I want to point out that when XL told XY there are many fun things to see, he was referring TSH and FFY secret meet up in the maze.

At this point, XL is the smartest character out of all of them. This dude knows everybody's secret and hidden motives. He's supposed to be aloof, closed off, and cold but yet how is he so good at reading people...

That's correct. CX's and XY's parents are brother and sisters, legitimate children from the queen whereas the others are children/grandchildren from concubines and consorts. I think I read that their relationship was change in the drama.

FFB/XL : going to her even though he knows he's going to risk losing his alias and most likely exposing himself. The vulnerability, anguish, and sadness TJC displayed in those moments were so good. In XL's mind, nothing as changed but when she drew the line, that's when it hits him that their relationship is no longer as it was before.

CX - that scene at the end was so, so moving and heartwarming. The pain and love those two have for each other can overturn the entire world. Yang Zi's acting was top notch.

Also the parallel between her sitting and watching FFB on the bed and sleeping while waiting for CX to wake up.

Ep 25 was an emotional roller coaster. What superb acting by the three of them.

Yeah that's basically how he made her think the entire time. She thinks he doesn't care about her or think differently of her. She thinks their relationship is purely transactional; give and take.

I think that's why Yaoliu shippers are so passionate LOL no closure

She knows they spent 37 years sleeping together.
She also knows he fed her blood from his soul.

What she doesn't know is that he did it willingly cause he loves her. When she asked him about it, he told her he made a deal with CX, a transaction for saving her life so she thinks he only saved her so he can get something in return, not because he thought differently of her.

So in the novel, that healing process took 37 years or so. While it's happening, it's told from XY's pov. She describes it as warm and comforting and it's also very intimate. Words like tightly embracing and bodies are close to each other where they can feel everything top to bottom. She also tells us that she clings onto that warmth whenever it happens.  The whole time we dont know how XL is healing her, just that he's giving her his blood from his soul. Also doesn't help that at the end of those 37 years, she wakes up to find that she dressed in a loosely tied robe.

Later on towards the end, we finally see how XL heals her and feed her blood from his soul.  We know it's mouth to mouth but what we didn't know was that he bites his tongue every time and feeds her blood from it. words varies from reader to reader. Other readers may view it differently, but I think that's a very intimate thing to do between two grown adults.

Also the conversation with her grandfather, that foreshadowing. Those words were directly aimed at two guys. I love how that also lets us know that XY has two guys she thinks about and neither of them are currently good for her due to their situation.

And his voice is really nice!! He's so hot
