I am affaid , i will end up drop it like nokdu's case before. I love nokdu so much at first but when the rest…
Have u watched rookie historian? It was the only drama that did not get very serious. They had a conflict but it did not get too serious or escalated to fights etc..it remained more lighthearted than other historicals I watched.
I just like how no one is tacking the villain dad seriously. It’s another thing this drama is braking of from other kdramas. Usually such dads are kinda feared and shown more respect than they deserve. But here, it’s just no one take the man seriously.
Ya but it’s on Netflix and many Koreans are watching it on Netflix too. It’s trending on s.Korea on Netflix as I saw on some Instagram posts. The bad thing is that it’s restricted in many regions like South America and Europe. I don’t know why Netflix did not show it worldwide.
the original chinese version is very good ......since i already watched that few months back....going to skip…
I enjoyed the Chinese one more. It was funny, silly and just hilarious. I liked that the man soul was there and how it was very clear. The actions of the character were also more male oriented in the cdrama. For example, she/he holds grudge and did not just forgive the attempted murder. I found this one to have lost a lot of the charm. The Chinese one was low budget for sure and this one is a huge production but I personally don’t care for that. I enjoyed the silliness of the stuff and how they where made with the low budge such as the costumes and the fighting stuff. They were just so funny and made fun of the serious stuff in historical dramas.
To those who’s believing that it will be a sad ending. I think it’s the opposite. Just remember that before…
The king is a real historical figure who was killed at the age of 32. It will be strange if a drama change the course of history. They may give them a happy ending before his death maybe.
I only watched 2 eps and does it get better?I didn't feel any real entertainment value from the first 2 eps and…
What is likeable about it is the dialogue and relationships. It’s not a drama with a lot of drama such as revenge or love triangle. It’s a drama about friendship and relationships. We r seeing how people r imperfect but trying their best. We r seeing how the first lead couple and second lead couple are falling in love. The dialogue is very smart and fresh. If these things don’t sound interesting to u and if slice of life dramas don’t appeal to u, then maybe its not for u. U could give the next couple of episodes a go and see how u feel about it. I watch it for the good feel and vibes it gives and how the dialogue is so unpredictable and intriguing yet the characters are so relatable. Also, unlike some other dramas here, the rating is really well deserved.
What I read so far is that Koreans r making fun of the drama and the acting. They say its very cringe and it might…
@myralee345 and @justsomerandomcoolnu, people have different taste. It’s not necessarily that u like something that others have to like it too. And s.Koreans have been in this game for long time. From what I noticed, the most popular showed there these days are stuff like penthouse, the world of the married, sky caster etc...Even start up and it’s ok to not be ok got between 3-5% rating while penthouse just finished the last episode with almost 50% rating. And the king eternal monarch was recently voted the worst drama of the year in s.Korea while it was really popular with internationals.

@paperdoll and @cloudsheyo, it was posts on both Twitter and Instagram that I saw. Something along the lines of what s.Koreans think of true beauty. The comments were a bit brutal but also entertaining. They also commented something along the lines that this drama belong to the time of boys over flowers and that they have moved past that cringe stuff a long time ago.
does anyone know if Korea is as divided as MDL is on Team Seojun vs Team Suho?
What I read so far is that Koreans r making fun of the drama and the acting. They say its very cringe and it might have worked 10 years ago but not in 2020/2021. Some were also saying they just watch to make fun of the bad acting. I did not see much about a divide of ml or sml so far. They had that going more with start up but actually 84% of s.Koreans were team sml in start up according to the polls.
