I looked deeply into the matter and it seams the hate started when she was barely 20. So, this famous Korean singer (one of the most famous singers 8-9years ago) appeared in tv and said he likes her and would like to date her. She agreed to date him but hell broke loss from his fan girls. They did not want him to date anybody and started saying hateful thing about her and sending her death threats. They had to break up after 2 weeks. It was crazy and the bad thing is the singer killed himself couple of years ago because he could not cope with fans demands.

She is not wealthy neither her family is influential. You r just assuming thing. She is actually well liked in her country and many international fans too. She was in Forbes for most influential Koreans twice and won many awards. I like her the most among the Korean actress. I also like that she get different and more realistic roles. Other actress are too boring and keep repeating the same role over and over and that’s very boring. Many of these actresses dramas failed badly this year due to the repetition. Unlike her, she is not afraid to take difficult and controversial roles. Some of her dramas r my absolute favorite. Those people who voice hate are mostly personally motivated and go out of their way to spread hate against her. While normal people when they dislike actors and actresses won’t be that vocal about hate and be that mean and cruel in their comments against actors. For example, I really don’t like park shin hye acting but I won’t go and attack her because my dislike is about her acting not personal.

Seriously, people need to leave her alone. If they don’t like her acting just act mature and don’t watch. To many bullies behind screens. And these people who voice hate in this way are more likely personally motivated and dislike her for personal things not her acting.

@ Sharon, actually that’s not true. All romantic dramas are failing miserably in Korea especially this years. Dramas like abyess, are hardly getting 3% rating while thriller dramas such as the fairy priest and doctor prisoner are getting 30% viewership. I think most of these romantic dramas r made to cater for internationals taste not Koreans actually. About this specific drama, people had very high expectations of it being the most anticipated drama of the year. I personally like fantasy dramas and watch many Chinese fantasy dramas but this one is not my cup of tea.

@forgottensoul, I actually don’t think this is the case. Only internationals want Korean and Chinese drama to be romantic and even with a happy ending. they even put down all dramas that do not cater to their taste. For example, fashion king was an amazing drama that had elements of romance but was not all about romance. But it was rated so badly by international because the main leads did not end up together. I personally liked that drama because it was the only drama that gave me a real surprise. Other dramas r easy read. Also, If u follow the ratings of dramas in Korea, u would see that thriller dramas such as the feisty priest, doctor prisoner were the most highly rate in Korea. While romantic dramas like abayss are failing badly in Korea. Most romantic dramas r not getting 3% rating while thrillers are getting up to 30% viewership. For this specific drama, I dropped as I did not care for it nor for the characters. This has nothing to do with it being not romantic. It was to do with lack of connection I felt to the story and the characters.

Same here so exited about this one. I have not watched many kdramas this year. Most of them were not interesting to me.

And most of these horrible critics are women themselves! Seriously, they give pass for actors just because of their looks and not talent. Ya mostly female actress get the bash. I’m sure these people don’t like to be judged by the same standard they r judging her. But as I woman it really bothers me how easy for other women just to be so cruel and mean towards other women instead of supporting them. At least, if u don’t really like some of the actress’s acting, just move along and don’t spread hate.

Same here. Considering the high suicide rates of SK celebrities, she is really strong. She is also liked in her country which is good for her considering that most hate come from internationals. I guess most of the hate is personally motivated. Almost 10 years ago, she dated a famous SK idol and the girls went crazy over it. They even send her death threats. The bad thing is the guy killed himself couple of years ago. She also played some not very innocent girl role in when a man falls in love and that gained he4 some hate but that was her role. I actually liked that drama very much because it was different than normal silly and innocent type of a girl drama. These r some of the things I came across while looking the issue up.

I did watch him in AOF. He is not bad and good in terms of technical acting but there r those actors who go beyond that and suck us in with their amazing acting. ZYL is one of those. Who imagined that a drama like guardian could be as popular if it was not for his outstanding acting. Mark chao is another one of those actors. Tasting genuine and original talents like both of those actors spoiled me lol

Same here, I liked her acting and I think she is much better than many Korean actress. I feel sorry for her for the amount of bullying she get. I mean even if people don’t like her, they should not just write the mean and cruel thing. I’m sure they don5 like to be judged by their own standards.

I think what made him creepy is the fact that he made her a copy of his wife. That’s really creepy! For me, thier romance was not convincing too as a main leads.

If one of the actors is not your favorite, please move along to the ones you like and don’t bombard this page with mean comments! This affect all the team who r working hard in this drama and not just one person. There r many Korean actors and actress that I don’t like thier acting, some are even very famous due to being considered good looking, but I respect that they put a lot of hard work into there dramas and work hard with other people too. I also respect that they have fans who like them. Hence, I don’t go to thier dramas and bad mouth them. Most people here r bad mouthing the main actress even before watching the drama. If she is not to ur liking just act maturity and move to other dramas or just act respectfully while supporting actors u like because bad mouthing thier team will not help them go anywhere.

I m looking forward for this drama Shin Se Kyong is one of my favorite Korean actress. She is also amazing in historicals. Looking forward to this drama as this year I have not watched many dramas due to the fact that the theams were highly repetitive and boarding. This one seams to be really good.

Actually, acting wise, he is worse than both actress. And Gangnam bueaty was very repetitive drama with no originality or creativity (many Korean dramas already were made we similar ideas). The only promble is that most watchers of KDramas are women who give pass to guys based on their looks only and not their acting talent. Most drama actors are famous just because of their looks while the most talented Korean actors don’t get to be leads in dramas because they r considered less handsome. It’s too bad that the guy looks is his only passport with female viewers. I personally think he has a long way a head of him to be a really good actor. But, I’m giving him chances to show that. Unlike many people who just judge others and base thier liking on looks only and give pass to handsome males actors based on their looks only.

But you know that the slave was actually the one who supposed to be his wife in the first place right? They both, Sharon and the other girl, were exchanged when they were born by the older witch- immortal. I personally did not sympathize with Sharon. The fact that she stole the fate of another girl, yet was so cruel as to cut her face set the mood for me since the start that she does not deserve happiness (cutting a girl face ment destroying her life that time). Also, it’s not the other girl fault that Sharon could not have kids and that the furturteller told the guy family he only can have kids with the other girl in a time it was pretty normal for a man to have more than one partner. The main idea behind the story was that the 2 leads were ment for each other and by the interference of both witches, they were separated. If the older witch did not change Sharon and Hae Ra, the main leads would have been married in their first life.

If you are in the mood for some light watch -a drama that kinda simple but unbelievable idea (the main girl has supper powers)- then you can enjoy this drama. To me, it was similar to sensory couple -the girl who sees smells but I liked sensory couple more. But they have similar elements of fiction mixed with reality with some plot holes too.

I have noticed that female actresses get most of the hate from drama fans while male actors get free pass on everything. It has to do with gender and culture. Also, most people who watch dramas are actually females. They have attraction to male actors more that female actress. They also tend to be mean and cruel towards their own sex. I’m a woman by the way, but I have been observing this since quite sometime.

That’s so mean honestly. Shin Se Kyung was amazing in this drama so is Nam Goong Min. I’m aved fan for both after this drama. There r many like you who attack shin se kyong for no reason even if they haven’t watched her dramas. I just hope u don’t meet people like yourself on your life who tell u you r the worst person in what u do!

She is a million times better than the one who was with him in Gangnam bueaty.

DFS hounestly was the most interesting character in the show. If it was not for him, I would have dropped the drama. His character added the charm to the drama that the ML did not have. The ML was just too plain and did not have any heroic qualities. After the first several episodes appearing like a the masked guy, he did nothing really! But what was the most annoying part in the drama was the last episode. It ruined both leads for me. BQ agreed to marry DFS to have him destroyed and killed by the emperor. To be so cruel and cold for a man who loved her so much, protected her and saved her life several times is so immoral and unethical. Same for the CY, he let the girl he says he loves to marry another guy to gain political advantage was just so cringey. In addition to his support for the horrible emperor. Both leads were ruined to me in the last episode. I don’t think that I ever disliked a main couple that much Unfortunately. Therefor, I did not care for them to end up happily together.
Regarding the end, I don’t think that CY survived as it is more possible for DFS to survive his injury rather that CY survival of the wall fall especially during the time that the bulletin was kinda functioning . As many other suggested, BQ was just hallucinating about meeting CY in the last scene as she did previously in the drama. To me that makes a better sense for an ending. Also, I don’t think the emperor will ever let CY be with BQ if he survives the fall. The emperor will not risk CY having BQ who is still the bulletin with him. It will mean CY will be in a more powerful position than the emperor.
