FL believes that his affection towards her was not genuine, that he just used her to expel the 5th mistress and have her fall out of grace. I guess I need to go back to when she recounted her time at their home.

The funny thing is xinxia is not really my thing nor am I obsessed with any actor (maybe one) but this drama has been very engaging and interesting for me. unfortunately, I have to watch it so attentively because so much details are easily missed.

Haha… perhaps it’s the delivery. It kinda throws you in there w/o much preparation or buildup and then throws out crumbs of clues for us to piece together.

For now, you get to enjoy the affection between Fl & SML.

I don’t know if she’s the birth mom . I’m guessing Wuniang is the 5th mistress (Wu = 5) and not favored by the legitimate wife. I am sure I’m issuing a lot having to ready subtitles flash by. Haha.

I think this is one of those shows that probably won’t be interesting for you if you find it a hot mess already.

Xinxia is always fantasy and this one is very complicated for lack of a better word. We are also talking about ppl living millions of years.

As for the child/adult infatuation:
The child her is not romantically in love with him. Her affection toward him is more gratitude since he was her savior. Now the guy from her past does love her but it’s is not pediophilia - I won’t go into that since the story will . The adult her is flirting with him for many reasons which gets revealed later.

If you want to give it a shot, stick for a few more episodes. But I get what you mean, it seems like not much action /plot is going on. In reality, there’s a lot of dialogue which reveals a lot of the plot, character personalities, desires, etc. Or maybe try another. If you haven’t already seen them , A Love Between Fairy and Devil or the Stary Love are great. Or if you’re more into realistic costume dramas, try Under the Moonlight. It’s also very good.

That sounds great and much better than the auto translate one (I’m making assumptions here since it’s so bad)

Personally, my first Xinxia drama - Love between fairy and devil - is a good starter.
Another one that is more comedic is The Starry Love.
This one is good but very involved - there’s just so much going on.

Wu xia -
Blossom ( just recently finished airing) is fantastic!
The blood of youth was pretty good - but not too much romance
There’s A Journey to Love - lots of cool fighting and romance. But no fairy tail ending. I loved it though I cried buckets.
Blossom in adversity - good but more romance and girl power I think.
Word of honor - this would be my first favorite wuxia drama. Low production and more bl but oh so good.

Uh… this is not wuxia drama - action, generally historical history based. It’s a xinxia drama - more fantasy, fairytale, many lives, changing forms. Magical beasts, super human Lowe’s and spirits. Lots of angst.

Yes - like she says, she feels there are these invisible hands controlling her actions and path. And that chess match pretty much suggests who may be involved. It’ll be good to see the next ep27.
