both girl and her mother were so fucking annoying. I'm glad she died. š...but again , her whory mother was…
Iām with you. Wao Yao was never repentant and it seemed that she was only interested in saving her brother and also that she was only saying she would apologize because she was scared. Regarding the daughter Jingā¦ā¦geez, did you hear the awful things she said to Chao Langā¦.and she was only six years oldā¦..she would have probably grown up into a really horrible person. There is no reason in life to tolerate people who act like that.
The killer actually took her to the hospital when she collapsedā¦.he tells Yan Liang that when they are on the boat fighting. Later Chen says that she was able to be by Xins side when he had his surgery and both are doing fine. That was the fairy tale explanation. The truth explanation was that everyone died. You get to choose which ending you liked.
without having watched the eps properly yet, my best guess is, the sheer expectations, that the quality of season…
Well said. Expectations are almost mystical for subsequent seasons of a blockbuster. I loved Heroes....and agree that S2 lacked the sparks that S1 evoked. I adore anything Wu Gang is in, currently watching The Thunder, so by the time I finish it, JOL should be finished. We waited so long š
really the best. this is really my kind of genre that i like and it's waaaaay beyond my expectation. really rare…
I finished War of Faith then tried to find something, anything, of the same caliberā¦.I think I have dropped 10 dramas in the quest. This series seems on the mark and I am only on E1. Enjoying reading your comments.
I know right like you can give your constructive criticism but the hate camp āŗ is crazy (ā_ā) there.
He is soooo good in this. E1 you just see a little of him because he is not in Korea. But once he gets to SK, he is a full time ML. I had forgotten how he is superlative in expressing emotions without words. I wanted to watch Chicago Typewriter again but itās no longer available anymore anywhere . There is a scene, half way thru where he and Eun Jin are holding onto each other crying and I frankly have never seen anything so traumaticā¦..it just kills you. Enjoy it š. It was a 10 for me.
Hae In's character is my favorite female lead ever. I like that she's strong and confident. That's one of the…
I think my favorite FL is Eun Jin in Good Bye Earth. There are no tropes in the series and she is just a kick ass lead, as is her best friend, the gay military Captain, who btw, is beautifulā¦.would like to check out other roles she has been in.
I know right like you can give your constructive criticism but the hate camp āŗ is crazy (ā_ā) there.
Nothing was cut. The comments, all the nasty ones, were made by people who stopped watching in the first or second episode. Ridiculousā¦..and for some reason a lot of people are complaining itās confusingā¦.its not remotely confusingā¦..but itās not a shallow personās drama. YAI and Eun Jin are fantastic in this. Made me realize how much I missed his acting.
Honestly by this time I am more interested in Aunt Beom Ja's storyline than the main one. The only character who…
Big Soo Hyun fan but I ended up enjoying Kwakās performance the most. His reaction to being abandoned was heart wrenching, and his child like innocence was touching.
That's why I'm gravitating more towards Cdrama, mainly historical or xianxia dramas. At least we get proper fighting…
I used to adore KDramas but the writing is mostly at second grade level now and itās the same plots with different actors. The only really good KDramas I would give high points to is My Dearest and Good Bye Earth. I just finished War of Faith and it is spectacularā¦..Yibo is outstanding. I am like you, tending more toward CDramasā¦40 episodes seems short. Waiting with little patience for S2 of Joy of Life š
If you are only at episode 3, please do not enter the comments page simply because it will spoil your fun of watching…
I especially laughed at the fact that she broke all those ribs, incurred a pneumothorax and miraculously is sitting up fine as all get out hours after surgery. JFC is all I can say. What a shipwreck of a drama and a waste of Soo Hyunās talent.
I know right like you can give your constructive criticism but the hate camp āŗ is crazy (ā_ā) there.
This comment section is absolutely benign compared to the vicious remarks under Good Bye Earth. I am convinced that there must be something in the water that is making people insane.,
Where should I start? I kept watching only to watch Soo Hyun. If he hadnāt been in it I would have dropped it early. I hated the FL character. I am getting tired of women leads that are quite honestly totally unlikeable bitches. In real life we would say he was in a highly abusive relationship and would wonder why someone so handsome, so honest and kind would put up with someone like her. So, I did not find this cute in any way, shape or form. She is stubborn, arrogant and a top flight narcissist. As much as I like Soo Hyun, I thought the role was beneath him. In the end I have to admit Kwak was the one who stole my heartā¦his anguish at being abandoned was heart wrenching. Unpopular opinion here but I actually have compassion for Eun Seong. Having worked in a mental hospital when younger, you develop a different attitude than most people about mental illness. Eun Seong was a product of abuse and abandonment issues he was never able to overcomeā¦I see him as being different from his mother who rationalized that what she was doing was for him. It doesnāt excuse his behavior but at least I can understand it. I will make a mention here of something that was quite ridiculous. No one has surgery regarding broken ribs and a pneumothorax and is just fine hours after surgery. All in all, quite disappointed in the whole productionā¦.not even Soo Hyun and Kwak could save it. Kudos though, to the whole castā¦.everyone played their characters well.
Good acting by veteran actors who were not quite able to make a silk purse out of a sows ear script. Also getting really tired of plots glorifying binge drinking. Korea ostracizes drug use but continually portrays excessive drinking as socially acceptable. The plot was based on a good premise but they ruined it with silly childish scenes, binge drinking and dialog that is more representative of teens in love than mature adults.
Unbelievably beautiful. Unbelievably painful. I truly thought nothing could ever top My Dearest. But this series broke me. Perhaps only older adults who have been thru painful experiences of regret, loss and grief can truly understand the magnificence of this work of art. There is a primary focus on choices and the ramification of choices; and that it is often true that the choices choose us, not the other way around. Fate, destinyā¦maybe we are born to play those out and there is no such thing as a choice. I would like to address the many disturbing, vile and self righteous comments made here. First, I have not seen one single instance that this has been redacted in terms of YAI. I will leave it at that. AEJ and YAI were magnificent, as was the entire cast. To see so many of my favs all in one place was a huge treat. YAIā¦.if you are out thereā¦.thank you. I was almost violently moved by your performanceā¦..There are few actors that are so capable of moving us emotionally as you areā¦.without words, thru your movements and gestures, your eyesā¦.you manage to make us feel what the character is feeling. The desperation, the love, the acceptance, we felt every nuance. Thank you for such a strong FLā¦.a FL that chooses selflessness over romantic love is almost non existentā¦so to have two females that did soā¦was simply amazing to behold. As a person who has lived in the wilderness almost my entire life, this script was amazing. It was totally realistic, no over the top wuxia type heroes, just normal people rising to the task of becoming exceptional when faced with challenges to which there is no permanent solution.
Yes absolutely. The ML is sooo swoony. I don't know what to watch anymore. since the ending left a big void in…
I found watching this sweet drama mitigated the angst tension producing, lump in throat War of Faith. But I am only on E17 of War so looking for another sweet fluff to balance out watching the rest of Yiboās masterpiece.
Absolutely adorable. I loved it. Good chem between ML/FL. NO TOXICITY. Not one screeching female, manipulations, or angst producing misunderstandings. Adored the references to past KDramas like Secretary Kim and Mr. Sunshine. squeal worthy cameos. This is a maturely created scriptā¦full of hilarious one linersā¦and a rarely seen normal plot of how sensible people act in real life with sensitive subjects. The only criticism I have is when are they going to stop smearing Halloween orange lipstick on the cast? Itās hideous. My first exposure to Moon Sang Minā¦.a real cutie who did a fantastic job. Not sure whatās wrong with MDL ratings latelyā¦.this has a 9.0 on Viki.
Hi- I saw that this will also be streamed on Disney + once itās out. Does anyone know if this will also be available…
If you are in the U.S. typically Disney+ here does not air Asian media. They use Hulu for thatā¦..but my experience has been that whether or not Hulu airs it is a hit and miss, and most often a miss. Hulu didnāt air S1 of Joy so itās doubtful they will air S2. In fact, for instance, although Disney+ said Bloody Heart would be available, it never was and most people ended up going to HiTv to watch it. The last Asian dramas aired on Disney+ were before the lockdown (Snowdrop)ā¦so donāt be lured into subscribing while they just dangle the carrot in front of you to get your $ It might show up on Kiss at some point, we can only hope.
