Mu Ranwu oh Mu Ranwu, you are in for a cold slap of reality. You can pretend to be your sister, but you never can actually be her because your heart is rotten to the core.
I'm liking her too. The sunshine type FL is not necessarily a new thing (actually, it's in C drama A LOT), but actually MQG is really no different. MQG just had more life experiences and responsibilities as a master. She and RR are distinct but really the same person to me. SYS never really got to know MQG (there wasn't enough time and too many misunderstandings), but he can get to know her as RR. Also as young SYS (and even now), he had not yet dealt with his trauma - honestly, he hasn't dealt with that let's be real lol. Hopefully the story will show how they both help each other find their best selves and let go of the past.
The episodes of themselves are decent, but why can’t she have an inner monologue? Why must she just constantly…
LOL, yes, everything has to be spoken out for the audience. But I'm a bit of a talk-to-myself person, so I can relate. Fortunately, I have more tact that RanRan than to say everything I'm thinking aloud.
I know Su Yu and MRW get on people's nerves - believe me, I can't stand them either with their self-righteous, everyone-else-sucks attitudes - but I'm glad the drama does spend time to flesh out some of these other characters. Even Wei Jiu. Can't wait to see where it all goes.
Random thoughts: I've never read the novel, so I have no idea if my thoughts are way off base, but I'm picking up on a few themes/motifs that I'm enjoying - it's not just a love conquers all type fantasy idol drama.
The most notable is this matter of appearances. MQG appears to be one way, but in reality, we know her to be a warm, compassionate master and human being. SYS has that face curse and wears a mask - he too appears one way but is also holding a lot in underneath the surface. Better not to be like those presumptuous cultivators who are quick to judge on appearances/surfaces.
The matter of identity and destiny: not a novel idea in xianxia (nature vs nurture), but it's playing out well here in this drama. SYS is the "Devil Child" and that identity and the life that comes with it is forced upon him by his dirt bag father. MQG sets out to change that fate for him - and it proves to be a difficult task (hence everything going to hell in her past life). But for us who do not know where our future lies, it is worth the endeavor to find our better selves (I'm pretty sure that's where the story is going). Nothing is for certain in the future.
I'm sure there's more, just no time to sit down and digest it all.
Do anybody know which drama Melons of him has more chance? His latest drama is with Li Qin as far I remember he…
The rumor regarding The Days of Seclusion and Love (风月不相关) is the strongest I'd say right now, but who knows honestly. In any case, I think that drama does seem to be filming soon from what I can gather online.
