I was disappointed with Avenue X's nit picky review.
It's ok, everyone has different opinions. She also admitted she didn't really watch the entire thing (or speed watched), and I'd have to disagree with a lot of what she said about the supporting characters and the male lead. I think one misses a lot key moments in the development of these characters when speed watching.
What a satisfying ending to the first part of this story - Mudan completes the first part of her journey, and the stage is set for more exciting things to come. Part 2, please come NOW
Regarding Liu Chang: I see the birth of a villain lol
Oh to be sure, he's always been a scumbag and an eternal dimwit as far as truly understanding love or caring for others. But up until the end of ep 28, you could argue his path was undetermined - he could change and be better. To me, there's a very significant shift in his demeanor after he finds out Mudan is marrying JCY and after what Prince Ning does to him (and what his parents let happen: forcing him to marry into Prince Ning's family).
As far as "villain", I guess I am referring to him as the future MAIN source of evil/badness in the story, but I see your point and I don't necessarily disagree. He is and was and probably will always be a bad dude with serious issues.
