Japanese BL are usually one of a kind, it’s difficult to find one that is similar to another unless it’s romcom where they are a group of their own genre (cherry magic, Kieta Hatsukoi, mr. Unlucky… etc)

For similar to my beautiful man I can only think of Life: love on the line and the the movie “His”. Give them a try if you haven’t. I would recommend try “double mints” but it’s a bit too extreme to be compared to this and it wasn’t my cup of tea.

Yeah MBM paved the way for MBS BL slot so love it or hate it, anyone who enjoy their BL from now to the future will have to thank MBM 😂

Also Kiyoi was better explored in the novel, just 6 Episodes they cut a lot of his important part to fit in the entire first novel.

Criticism on quality is valid but the complains on both shows i mentioned here mostly about different preferences and genre 🤦🏻‍♀️

Do research and only go for genre you can watch if you are picky. Jdrama has every flavor to pick.

Vol 1 is at chapter 8, currently the author continues vol 2 up to chapter 10 on pixiv comic. Drama most likely only cover first vol that’s why we get a lot of filler scenes like date and Kouta’s unlucky scenes to make it longer for 8 episodes drama

Yeah since they split the first date chapter into 2 episodes, this is the filler and the real date being pushed to ep 3

They try to add more scenes to make it 8 episodes since the manga Vol 1 is quite too short which I don’t mind 😂

EP 2 is both fun and hilarious. Naoya is a walking shoujo manga cliche making it's so cute. I don't think Kouta will last long not falling for him.

Usually you can check TVer they officially put the episode soon after it’s aired on MBS tv. Episode 2 is tomorrow midnight.

Ah what happened during utsukare was unforgivable 😂 but for Fukokiss, i watched a few minutes after Gaga release and later i watched again at night it seemed the sub was changed and corrected lol they finally listened to the complaint i guess.

While mood indigo has great quality of acting and making, better than pornographer, I can never like Kido even when I read the manga before I watch the series. So yeah lol just personal preference no offense that I wouldn’t call it the best for me if I couldn’t stand the main character. The movie+epilogue is much better than the pornographer series tho.

I think if talking about rating, most Jdrama got the lowest in MDL despite the quality in writing.

For me, their dynamic isn't smth to idealize or should look for in a relationship but like you said, it worked for them in their own way. In second novel, somehow their 'dysfunctional' relationship is what improved both of them to be a better person lol I can't really criticize them.
