Yeah, the k-remake toned down the whole thing, so it's just like any average k-melodrama, with lots of squinting.…
Look, I have had that happen from time to time. This is by no means a 'shitty remake' - it's got great acting, excellent writing, and high production values. I get it that you prefer the really dark JDrama - fine. Whatever. I personally don't LIKE ultra dark, dismal dramas without a shred of light in them. My preference. I'm fine with us disagreeing about that. Plus I haven't even seen the JDrama so can't really give an educated comparison except to say that I'm happy this one isn't any darker. When I talked of 'dismal and bleak' dramas I was referring in general to lots of JDramas and Western dramas that I HAVE seen. As I clearly stated.
I suggest that you stop with the personal insults. It doesn't do a thing to promote your viewpoint.

I'm surprised to hear this drama has low ratings. Is it because they already know the original story?
WHAT scandal??? Oh, he was SICK??? And the Army kicked him out cause of that? IDIOT netizens don't deserve any attention whatsoever, the jerks. It makes me utterly furious :(

I totally disagree the guy is a douchebag who played her bff and didn't even seem to care that she died..... so…
I agree - I really was disgusted that she had ANY trouble ignoring this guy, cause of what she SAW him doing to her BFF. Any guy who does that kind of thing to my friend no longer holds any appeal to me. I would actually have felt relief if I'd seen him back with her (ie driving off in the car with her), and certainly wouldn't have been worrying too much about him while my bestie was lying in hospital. Maybe AFTER she died, IF he'd seem grief or remorse stricken, I might have come round to him. But not when I myself already had a sweet puppy BF!!
That's just me, of course....

Title Ms. Ma, Nemesis Spoiler
Finally clicked which Christie book the main story line (ie the murdered girl) comes from - it's Nemesis. The old man is there (but not in the same relationship to the girl). Switching identities. Yep.

Yes - it WAS heartbreaking - I actually kept urging him on in futile hope (I mean, yeah, SIG but OMG psychopath!!!)

I have to leave a comment here because I need to get my thoughts out of my head. I liked the movie for what it…
This was a TWO HOUR film, for goodness sake!!!! Exactly how did you expect all that to be squeezed in? Took a full season for the anime to do most of it and even then stuff from the manga got left out!!! There's totally room for a sequel that pretty much follows the manga/anime series LOL

You obviously saw a completely different film than I did. Totally disagree with all of this.

Title Bleach
I haven't watched the anime or read the manga, so I thought that the movie was good. But my brother kept complaining…
Your brother's nuts LOL I've certainly seen all the anime and read the entire manga series, plus watched all the anime films - and this definitely follows the first story arc very closely. Things were abridged and minor details left out, of course (2 hour film - has to happen) but the trajectory of the story remained true to the original. As for th characters, yep, pretty recognizable! Byakuya :D Miyavi did a great job! Loved Ichigo too :d

Well, except for the Rukia/Ichigo thing I agree. Rukia/Renji is the pairing that makes sense, sorry LOL and Orihime/Ichigo.
But that was just as up in the air in this LA as in the anime so cool :D

I came here to read DRAMA drama reviews and feedback not REAL LIFE drama, insults and abuse. Doesn't look like…
So far this drama is quite interesting - I happen to like the time manipulation theme, and the whole reaper idea. The main girl is a bit annoying but she's not horrible. KHJ is doing very well, and the 2 main reapers are great - I'm very intrigued about what the tension between them might be!

For Young Bae to have taken over Ki San's spot, he needed to look like Ki San. My first guess was that Young Bae…
Ki San had just returned from the States - very few people knew what he looked like. I expect that after that murder (unplanned - Young Bae wasn't that evil at that time) and his soul-destroying decision to kill his GF, he bribed the few people who did know his identity.

I've taken to marking any of my discussions of KHJ's case with spoiler tags - cause it's got NOTHING to do with the drama! I wish others would do the same :(

Being 'dark' does not make something 'psychologically strong' LOL This drama is NOT 'light' at all - makes me laugh to hear that. Just because there's light moments doesn't equate to that. Get real. Life has light moments, even for people in basically sad or hard situations. When dramas insist on showing only exaggerated emotions, painful encounters and bleak outlooks, they lose reality as much as when a drama is overly light and fluffy. There's a happy medium.
This drama so far is very dark and intense, with great acting and serious undertones. From what I'm hearing of the Japanese version, it just sounds twisted and morbid - enough so that any 'serious message' would go unnoticed. I'm very glad the KDrama is more realistic, at least so far.

BS Being controversial does not make something great. Wanting some humanity in dramas hardly makes one 'gutless'. How absurd.
I've not seen the Japanese version, but I personally am not fond of the Japanese aesthetic - way too pessimistic. I for instance much preferred the Korean version of Mother to the Japanese version - both had stellar acting and similar story, but the KDrama really stayed in my heart.
It's one thing to be able to deal with painful subjects without diluting their impact. It's another entirely to deliberately make everything dismal and bleak. I've had it with that kind of thing - it's totally contaminated Western media to the point that anything not full of unappealing or downright nasty main characters and twisted relationships is immediately labeled 'unrealistic' and treated as shallow and comic. Gag me.

Do you realize how silly that sounds?
Cho Rong is a sweet boy that our main girl WOULD have fallen for if that possible psychopathic alluring bad boy hadn't crossed her path.

Jin Kang and Kim MooYoung they're so pure and innocent ♡
Kim Moo Young is about as far from innocent as possible LOL The relationship seems pure and innocent, which means he won't have a clue how to deal as it's so outside his experience.

This drama is pure fun - it is NOT to be taken seriously :D It's basically one heist (thinly sanctioned by our fav prosecutor) after another, with Mr Cool & his team :d I'm loving this and hope it just never gets particularly serious.
