A suggestion - don't just decide a person did something horrible based on some netizens whining about it - unless you actually researched it yourself. I say this about ANY celebrity scandal.
And it does not have anything to do with the drama - I totally agree with you there.

I've watched both available episodes - I love time stuff, fantasy, and the whole reaper thing in dramas so I'm intrigued! Plus KHJ's character seems kind of a Robin Hood type which is ANOTHER trope I love. So I do like the drama so far :D

I truly love this genre so I find the concept very interesting and like it so far.

They are nowhere as powerful as they once were, and they've changed - I know because I've been a rater for Neilson several times over the last 3 decades. Neilson DOES look at streaming now.

These kinds of ratings (the Nielson ratings in America) used to rule network television in the US - that hasn't been true here for several years due to streaming being now the norm. This is happening in South Korea as well now, but they are behind. Traditional stations still air shows and expect viewers to chose which to watch. They can still sell commercial time to advertisers. So ratings count in SK - but more and more the entertainment companies are also understanding the earning potential of shows that stream, both in SK and more importantly outside of the country. So just because a show has low domestic ratings on the initial broadcast does NOT indicate whether it earned enough money to break even or make a profit. Scarlet Heart: Ryeo is an excellent example of a drama that got disappointing domestic ratings but earned a lot of money in foreign release. Healer - that was a huge streaming hit both domestically and internationally despite the traditional ratings being ho-hum.

No he did not admit to HITTING anyone. He said he put hands on her - he pushed her in that one MUTUALLY physical fight where SHE attacked him & wouldn't leave. He thought he accidentally hurt her in ANOTHER incident (the rib injury) but that's been proven a lie from her. Just do some research, and quit relying on old articles from 4 years agol.

It was pushing/shoving RATHER than hitting. Choi Hye Mi was also attacking him - that's what 'mutual' means. He had bite marks & scratches in the concert footage taken a couple days later. This is what KHJ said - I'm refuting all those people who still insist that KHJ admitted hitting her when he did not admit any such thing.
We actually don't know what happened. Choi Hye Mi offered no proof of anything outside one undisputed 2-week bruising certificate, which is consistent with KHJ's account but is NOT consistent with those photos CHM sold to Dispatch (the ones she did not turn in to the police nor ever get authenticated - the ones that were part of the evidence against her in her defamation and fraud trial, where she was convicted). We do know that CHM has been outed as a liar - proven in court (civil and criminal) and admitted by her. KHJ on the other hand has been consistent and reticent since the scandal broke.
So I personally choose to believe him rather than the outed, admitted liar.

That plus the reporter (ex military type) going into Seonwoo's room like that!

A lot of people do get the way a character is written and the way an actor portrays a character quite mixed up.
The roles KHJ played in both BOF & PK simply did not require great acting. So to blame KHJ for portraying these characters AS WRITTEN is hardly fair. He certainly didn't rise above the script.

She lied about every single pregnancy except the final one. She got money out of KHJ by those lies (the FRAUD part of her conviction). He never admitted to hitting her - only to 'laying hands on her' ie in the mutually physical pushing/shoving match which is confirmed by the only undisputed medical evidence of injury Choi Hye Mi ever gave the police (2 week bruising) which does not fit the bruising shown in those unauthenticated photos she sold to Dispatch (the DEFAMATION part of the conviction).
You may consider him crappy because of his attitudes about casual sex, or those texts (edited & taken out of context) that, again, she sold to Dispatch but did not give to the police. However, you are completely wrong about him ever admitting to abusing anyone.
As for the DUI, he'd had about 2 beers, maybe 3, based on his blood alcohol level. In most countries world wide he was under the limit. SK has very stringent blood alcohol levels. He shouldn't have driven after drinking - he knows what the laws about it are like in his own country! But he certainly was not drunk. He'd been up for 36 hours - that's why he fell asleep. Shouldn't have been driving, but again, WAS NOT DRUNK. Lots of Korean (and other) celebrities have DUIs, most of them much more serious than this one.

She lied about all of them except for the final pregnancy (in December 2014) which resulted in a baby. So yes, there ARE news articles about her lying about pregnancies, because she DID lie about them! She got money from him several times to pay for 'abortions' she never had. She also blackmailed him saying she'd tell people he'd caused her to miscarry in that May 2014 fight where he pushed her out of his house - when she was not even pregnant.

No he did not. There was NEVER any broken ribs. Go back and read ALL the available information from the past 4 years, from reliable sites. She LIED. She's been convicted of fraud and defamation, admitted she lied, and apologized. You are defending the criminal here.

Crystal - you are getting 2 things mixed up here. First, in August 2014, Choi Hye Mi told the police KHJ had beaten her up FOUR times. When the police called him in (without decent legal representation from KE sadly) KHJ said no, only ONE fight, a mutually physical one involving pushing/shoving (which BTW is consistent with the one undisputed medical certificate she submitted as evidence - a 2 week bruising injury that's not consistent with those pictures she sold to Dispatch but never turned in as evidence). She told KHJ if he apologized she'd drop charges (and behind the scenes told him she'd not tell anyone about the FAKED miscarriage) .
The OTHER thing KHJ said, was that he'd caused her rib injury by accident, showing her martial arts moves. However, she'd LIED to him about that. You are absolutely correct - she faked injuries and lied to KHJ, and has now admitted it. There are 2 conflicting medical reports about that rib bruising - where the DOCTORS disagree. She only turned the one into the police and no one did a decent investigation (cause KHJ admitted fault) until finally in spring 2015 his dad got a good criminal lawyer.
The prosecutors HAVE investigated all this now - and Choi Hye Mi was convicted of fraud and defamation.

One mutually physical fight involving pushing/shoving - he got bit and scratched, she got pushed out of his apartment (and lied to him, saying he caused her to miscarry by doing so). She NEVER had a fractured rib for goodness sake!!! It was a BRUISED rib and the TWO medical certificates have two conflicting diagnoses - as well as 2 different accounts from her of how it happened. She got a DOCTOR to lie for her in fact. Yet here you are still spreading proven lies and mistranslations.

There was no broken rib, that incident was a total fraud on Choi Hye Mi's case and always was separate from that one May 2014 fight. She's been convicted of fraud and defamation, admitted lying, and apologized. The prosecutors in this case want her to see jail time and are making another appeal, this time to the Supreme Court in SK. The military judge was so incensed at her that he said he'd convict and imprison her if he had jurisdiction.
SHE'S a liar. He's her victim.
