The court and country is in chaos due to his inability. He is always trying to please wei and li factions.
Most of the characters here are fighting for power, greed, Huai An and ML are probably the only ones who are doing for a right cause, considering Huai An doesn't do anything stupid.

In the novel, the real Sui Yuanhuai and Sui Yuanqing were step brothers right?? If I remember right after the death of Yuanhuai's mother in the palace fire, Prince Changxin married his sister in law and later had Yuanqing with her. The step mother never liked Qi Min, so him killing her later wasn't such a big thing. But here they made Prince Changxin's consort, survive the palace fire, and always knowing that it was Qi Min, not her son, she treated him well, felt bad for him, didn't reveal his truth, and he still killed her? This Qi Min is beyond pathetic than the one in the novel. I lost a little sympathy for Qi Min today, like the adaptation one.
