To get around the airing license regulations. Too many episodes, if combined into one series
Oh, it is ok to ask, to find out more info. I think the new regulation is only around 40. So, when they first planned this drama, they wanted to split it into two parts, each with 30 episodes. But, during filming, they probably made the decision to cut it to 51. Hence you see the 30 and 21 split.
How we do know the decision was already made at the filming stage? The short filming duration of around 4 months. If they had wanted to proceed with 60 episodes, they would have needed around 5 months.
In Yanxi Palace, the characters played these two leads did not have a happy ending. So, I suspect, they will have a happy ending in this drama. This is just a guess.
I read a few days ago, happy camp has been shut down permanently. The only promotion we might get will be new…
If Reba and Allen film anything to promote TBW, they could well use that in the middle of airing, rather than using those videos right now. Right now, they have sufficient tools in their arsenal. New stills, OSTs, a new trailer. Just prior to airing, they can show any or all of these.

I did not follow that drama. Perhaps they were both relatively free just prior to the time of its airing. Or, perhaps this is Yang Mi's first historical drama since Fuyao, so she really wants it to succeed.
Right after filming LOA, our Reba has been busy with all kinds of stuff like red carpet events, filming commercials, etc. And Allen went on to film another drama. So, we don't really know what are the chances of getting them to film anything now, to promote TBW. If they wish to do anything at all, they will have to do it soon, because once Chinese New Year comes around, everyone will be too busy to do anything.
In terms of promoting TBW right now, I still feel that the best media will be new stills, OSTs, and a new trailer. Those can be done easily. A new trailer is needed, to give viewers confidence that they managed to fix some of the issues mentioned in the feedback to the previous trailer. And if the OSTs are good, one must presume they are, they will also help to build viewers' enthusiasm.
This looks like an original story by Huanyu Film, a company controlled by Yu Zheng, the same person who produced Yanxi Palace. The screenwriter for this drama is also the same person who wrote the script for Yanxi Palace. The two leads also acted in Yanxi Palace. So, this drama has Yanxi Palace written all over it.
It is also a fairly popular page to check for info on Chinese dramas and, just like this page, it also did not mention that this drama is adapted from a novel.
I watched a fan-made MV and shed a few tears. I want to be Li Changge when I grow up.
Wise choice. She is the ideal type of woman for the 21st century. Smart; ethical; multi-skilled; highly adaptable; can think on her feet; stands by her man. Can survive on her own, if necessary. She can survive any place on earth.
I see. Makes it better but still not my style but I am more likely to watch it.I prefer women in position of authority. It's…
Do give it a shot. When done, I will show you the 3-4 ways this differs from Stockholm Syndrome. That is provided you even need me to show you. If you know the Stockholm Syndome, after watching, you should be able to see it for yourself.

Have you started watching? It deviates from Stockholm syndrome in at least 3-4 ways, some so fundamental, one could hardly say there was any Stockholm syndrome.
Keep going. If you at E17, a few more episodes, they will be ok. It is part of the script. QJJ will make him pay for his rejection, but soon they will be together.
Someone on twitted the broadcasting time of the drama is 22 januaryhttps://twitter.com/nattyninny/status/1477668306232360961?t=mDt16vjBXg-3ZpKs-84sCg&s=19
The tweet merely says it will broadcast between mid to late Jan 2022. I think the 22 refers to the year 2022, rather than 22 Jan. If it is late Jan 2022, it will also be inline with that article that I read, which I cite in the post below.
It suggested tentative airing dates for the following dramas: Imperial Cuisine: 10 Jan 2022 Mirror Twin Cities: 29 Jan 2022 The Blue Whisper: 30 Jan 2022
Not sure if it is based on this article, but if you go to the MDL pages of these dramas, all the tentative airing dates are in line with this article.
For The Blue Whisper, the lack of new promotional materials for the past many days makes a late Jan airing date more likely than an early Jan airing date. Also, if you go to the page of Imperial Cuisine, in addition to the tentative airing date, MDL even stated the airing schedule (it will air everday of the week, but how many episodes per day is not stated).
These dates are also likely, because they will use the Chinese New Year crowd to draw in viewers in China. Especially for Mirror Twin Cities and The Blue Whisper. Both Tencent (producer of MTC) and Youku (producer of TBW) have lots of dramas to air, so pushing everything till March, after the Winter Games, is less likely than airing it in late January.

George, where did you get the information that it was cut from 30 to 22 episodes? This drama has two parts. Are you referring to part 1 or part 2? The source of your information may help us determine if it is genuine or fake news.
Wu Jin Yan will probably enter the court as Yao Zi Jin, and later become the Consort Sun, etc. And Xu Kai as Zhu Zhanji, later Emperor Xuande.
