True. That cannot be helped, if Reba delays filming her next drama. If she starts filming soon, even if we watch Legend of Anle around August of 2022, we can still watch her new drama around Jan 2023. Her delay in choosing her next drama is bit worrisome.

This year, there is no summer Olympics. It takes place once every four years.

If legend of Anle is shown end of the year, we will need to wait for at least 6 months, after TBW. That is a very very long wait.

I think Youku has too many dramas to air. If they air part 1 after Olympics, part 2 can only be shown in mid April. All their other dramas will be pushed further and further back. Our wait for legend of Anle will e even longer.

Anyway, nothing has been confirmed. Not sure if the news from that magazine is reliable.

If it is true, we must keep faith with TBW, that it will do well in China, and do justice to the production team.

The winter games are less frightening compared to the summer games. In the summer, China's men and women's team were both in the table tennis finals. And they also did very well in the diving events. Lots for China fans to cheer. I think China is less dominant in the winter games. On nights where no Chinese will compete,I think Chinese dramas will be the winners.

Dilraba has a new drama that will be broadcast soon, even before Legend of Anle. The blue whisper. It might air in late Jan. Go to the page of the blue whisper and catch the latest update.

I wish to add, there is no reason why both dramas cannot do equally well. It is the Chinese New Year. I suspect they will just stay home to binge on one drama after another.

MTC got its license even further back. 3 months ago! Yet, Tencent chose to air it in late Jan, instead of middle Jan, right after SSS. I think Tencent also wants to catch the Chinese New Year crowd, and wants to put a small gap between SSS and MTC, which is wise.

I like the odds of TBW better. Director Chu had more hits with Chinese fantasy dramas. The director of Mirror Twin Cities did direct 3 fantasy dramas, but they did not perform as well as those done by Director Chu.

That, and the combined fandom of Reba and Allen will overwhelm the combined fandom of their two leads. The male lead in Mirror Twin Cities has not had a historical drama aired since 2016!

All in, on paper at least, the odds are better for TBW. I will still watch Mirror Twin Cities, just to compare.

It was Tencent who betted against the Olympics. And now, with mirror twin cities, they are again betting against the Olympics. I will be very worried if it is only Youku. With two big Chinese producers who both feel that their dramas can survive the games, we should feel more secure that viewership in China should be ok. Hoping that part 1 can get at least 3B views and part 2 another 2b, giving us more than 5B in total.

All of us have the same wish. Maybe Youku has no choice, or they feel that screening this over the chinese new year is the best. They are a Chinese company. Perhaps they know Chinese viewers' viewing behaviour?

It could well be they needed more work on the post production and could not get it out earlier. Also, Chinese new year in China takes place over 15 days. And with the pandemic still going on in China, Youku could be betting that a great majority will just stay home. And after watching the Olympics, if the drama is really good, they will watch TBW. Particularly if the first few episodes really impressed them. Usually, first day of airing, they already showed 6 episodes. By the time the games come around, they could have already watched 10-12 episodes of the drama.

Do not worry. We have a good scriptwriter and a very experienced director. If there is any weakness at all, in the novel, they will be able to compensate.

I see! Do not worry about that. Maybe you read wrongly. Small issue. The news I read states that Mirror Twin Cities will premier on 29 Jan. Usually, before they premier, they will also announce the airing schedule, meaning how many episodes per day, which day of the week.

The other news I heard is that it will only premier on 29 Jan.

Really? Wow! I thought it was going to air only on 29? Never thought it would start so early!

Interesting!! I do know that in a recent stand up comedy that she did, she kept hinting that her mum wants her to get married. Not sure if this has anything to do with her delaying her next project. Maybe she is busy some private 'project' of her own? Thinking about marriage??
