The title of this drama, The Long Ballad, is a literal translation of her name (Changge in English means long ballad), so this drama actually traces her life and adventures set off by the tragic event in episode 2, known in history as the Xuanwu Gate Incident.

In the process, she will also find love, and her love story will evolve along with her character growth and development, though it will always command a somewhat lower attention compared to Li Changge's growth and development.
