You can tell, when there are comedic moments, they are not the kind of high school humour we see in a typical rom-com drama. It is a brand of humour catered more for adult viewers, rather than teenagers. And they try not to inject too much humour, because this is a serious drama, with just the right amount of humour to relieve our tireness from watching lots of the serious scenes.

They are likely to keep to this formula in the coming episodes, to send the message that this is not your typical high school romcom. Not even a rom-com for adult viewers, but a serious drama dealing with real life issues. Comedy is just a sprinkle, to add variety of flavour and inject some fun into our viewing pleasure.

I think she came across as looking different from her previous dramas due to the make up they gave to her in those scenes when Xia Qing met YT at the hotel and had drinks. I doubt she had any surgery done to her face.

My interpretation of what she meant, unlike QJJ, she wants some privacy and not too much public attention and be in the spotlight all the time. Ok, this is the feeling of many celebrities. Some do not mind getting attention all the time. But other celebrities prefer to have less media or public attention. Like, when they go out, they do not have to wear sunglasses or caps to hide their faces. It is not anything big. By now, Reba should be used to all the media and public attention. There will be very very few people in China who do not recognise her face. I am not sure if they do this kind of show to intentionally send a message to the Chinese government. But, any top government official who watched this drama cannot but walk away from it feeling a bit chastised. That people who bring such glory to China are earning so little they are afraid they cannot provide good healthcare for family members. It is a subtle message of rubuke, but some of those top government should get that message. It is soft sell and an indirect approach to bring issues regarding the national aerospace programme in China out into the open. The question is, did any of top brass from the Chinese government who decide on pay issues watch this drama? In China, decision making is top down. If the top people are not convinced, nothing moves.

It is too bad they did not mention anything about character growth or development in the description up there. When they produced this drama, they placed character growth ahead of romance.

Totally agree with you. Apart from those things you mentioned, China wants to use its aerospace technology to show to the world that they are on par with the US, to land spacecraft on Mars and so on. They should definitely pay these people well enough to support family and all. Why should they make all the sacrifices only for Chinese leaders to look good against the Americans. If they bring glory to China, they should be well rewarded. Only fair.

China is a socialist country after all, which believes in leveling thigns up socially. I think they are taxing all the people in the entertainment industry heavily, because those people are making big bucks. They can raise the salaries of people with jobs like YT's.

Honestly? In the drama, when QJJ marries YT, their marriage would have levelled things up, when she uses her money to support his dream. In real life, I am not sure Reba will marry an aerospace engineer. But whoever she does marry, there is a very high chance that she will making more money than her future husband.

I am very sure that is the case in the US. A successful top notch US actress is going to make more money than the highest level engineer or even top management people at NASA. Only people who makes more money than those in the entertainment industry are business owners in the private sector.
