Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Xia Da or her previous studio owns the right to the manhua and the character Li Changge. It would have been really…
I got you. But watching the drama, it is clear that there was one that involved Mujin, Mimi and Sheer. And that one was handed just as well as the one circling Changge and Sun. So, think whatever advice Xia Da gave regarding GeSun, the writers applied the advice to Mujin, Mimi and Sheer

My GeSun heart goes wild whenever I watch this interview.
Yah. I think maybe the marker she used was a little faint and Wu Lei used a slightly darker one? I guess the camera crew isn't as experienced as those in the TLB? If they were to do this again, either change all the markers to darker colours, use bigger pieces of paper or just simply zoom on those drawings for a few seconds. Would have been so much better

I'm not a regular commenter here but I'm so glad this page has hit 26K comments. That's a lot honestly, only God…
The comment section in The Untamed is still alive, two years after its broadcast. Assuming the same happens for TLB, that two years on, this section is still alive, we might even hit 40k. And indeed no human will be able to predict how this section will end.

Nirvana in Fire was shown almost 6 years ago. Its comments page is still alive today. Looks like MDL does not even shut down a drama's comments page. If so, 5 years from now, there will still be people coming here to make comments.

It is a bit of a pity. The cameraman should zoom on those drawings that they drew. Too far, and I could not quite see those drawings. Anyway, we can tell, the two of them are game to do anything that will promote the drama

People, do remember to rate it on IMDb as well!
Nice reminder, as the IMDB page is another popular page for international viewers who are searching for nice dramas to watch

When was this filmed? Just around a day or two ago? So, they were still promoting the drama a few days ago? Amazing
It is a very nice clip. Shows just how dedicated they were to this drama, to spend so much time promoting it in various inteviews, etc. Guess whey should? They were the main leads, after all

Important Timelines in History and What that it means for the events in the drama
Important Timelines in History and What that it means for the events in the drama

A number of you have asked, how long was the duration from E1 to E49?

I did some research linking history with the drama for a more precise answer. All this is based on Wikipedia and whatever I can find online:

1. Xuanwu gate incident: 2 July 626 AD
In the drama, Li Si Min killed Li Jiancheng in E2. So, E2 took place on 2 July 626

2. Nineth of September 626, Li Si Min became the new emperor of Tang Dynasty, when his father abdicated. The abdication was not shown in the drama. But, from the drama, we do know that by E20, he was already the emperor. Changge addressed him as such.

3. That scene at the river, where Li Si Min met the Khan and the Ashile troops, E20, that took place about 19 days after Li Si Min became emperor. So, the dramatic arrow shooting scene where Changge shot the arrow at the cups to save Li Si Min took place around 25-28 September 626.

So, E2 to E21 all happened rather quickly. From around July to September 626, all within the space of just three month. So, the grassland scene when she had her 1st period, she was about 15 plus.

But after this, it became rather difficult to tie events in the drama to history. Many of the stuff in the drama and manhua must have been fictional, since Changge and AS were fictional characters.

To place the next series of event in the drama to history, we will need to fast forward quite a bit.

Point 4: New Year 630, which would be around Jan-Feb 630, after the Tang Dynasty had grown strong enough militarily to confront the Eastern Turkic Khaganate, General Li Jing was tasked by Li Si Min to attack them. He and his fellow generals and the Tang troops took the city of Ding Xiang. Empress Xiao and her grandson were returned to the Tang Dynasty. They had been held by the Khaganate.

This would mean the AS rescue scene in E48 took place just slightly after Jan-Feb 630. Our drama therefore ended around maybe March 630. Li Jing's attack was rather swift and took the Eastern Turks completely by surprise. This would be quite in line with the drama, which showed him to be a very good strategist.

This time frame would also be fairly in line with history as Princess Yi Cheng was killed around late March 630, Du Ru Hui died in Spring (April?) of 630. All this in E49.

So, Xuanwu gate July 626 (2), last episode April 630. Assuming there is not much time lapse between E1 and E2, the whole series too place over a time frame of 3 years 9 months.

If Li Changge was around 15 in episode 1, she was around 18 going on 19, when she and AS went to the grasslands. AS was 23 turning 24. Both of them were still very young.

Makes sense. A bit too late to be promoting it now.

I can just imagine the reaction of people who come in here from some other dramas. They will get a big shock.…
I think generally that is the case. Terrible dramas usually have very little comments. No one bother to put comments, as they have nothing nice to say about those dramas. And those who do post negative views about those dramas? They usually leave the comment section after that. We are still a phenomenon in the MDL world.

In episode 43, Chang Ge wants Wei Shu Yu to keep investigating the poison case since she hopes Yi Cheng will be…
Very likely Yi Cheng. Sheer was already being confined, under investigation, so difficult for him to make the other guy confess.

I like all these trains. The only slight modification I will make. Leyan did end up liking Hao Du. How will you…
Poor Shuyu. He needs to find himself a girlfriend. Yuan Niang is too young for him. He will need to wait a long time. Shiba is taken. The Taoist priestess at Liuyun Temple is too old for him. Maybe one of her assistants will do?

One of the key success factors for a movie/drama. Whether in Hollywood, China or Korea. Here in TLB, we not only…
When the OSTs were first released, even before TLB was shown, the opening OST did not hook me, the way the ending one did. But, when the drama was shown, after multiple listening and looking at the meaning of the lyrics, I was also taken it.

It is less tender a song, compared to the ending OST. But it is an appropriate song for so many of the scenes. In particular the snow walk surrender scene. The lyrics were so in sync with what Changge must be feeling when she walked out the gate of that city to surrender to AS

He's got a rare soprano upper voice. He can hit the notes of opera singers.
This video is mind blowing. I remember some people here saying they are so glad that the two of them will singing OSTs for TLB, even if it is not a duet. Watching this duet, we can see why are they are so popular. Just fantastic singers!

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
He wasn't seen past the episode where he and XF spoke to Mu Jin in the woods. Conjecture would be he was taking…
In one of the statements made by Situ Lang Lang, he implied that the old phyiscian will be with him, that both he and the elderly physician will take care of Yuan. But no one mentioned anything about Qin Lau.

Got a feeling whoever was taking care of this scene totally forgot about Qin Lau. So sad, cause he was with them for quite a while. Even went all the way to Mobei.

He was with XF most times. Should have gotten XF to speak one sentence, just a single sentence. We know XF will end up with Siba. But at least make XF said something like Qin Lau has retired and will be staying at this village or what. That sentence would take just no more than 10 seconds. Would have made the actor feel so good.

They totally forgot about him. So sad.

E48-49. Did I miss something? In the send off, after Mimi's funeral, everyone had closure. We know what happened to who and where they went off after that.

Was the elderly Mr Qin left off? Qin Lau. Nobody mentioned anything about him. If I were the actor who played that character, I would have told the two writers, come on, I do not need to appear, but can you make one of those guys even make a single statement about me??

It was like, his character just disappeared and no one cared

Maybe I missed some part of the conversation
