A fun little video with the macho grassland boys with English subtitles, enjoy! https://youtu.be/8UbOH3NSaSU
Nice! Them reminiscing those highlight moments when they were in the same scenes in the drama also help us do likewise. Enjoying all those memorable scenes again, with even great appreciation
The soundtrack is probably one of the best parts about this drama. Every single song tells the story of the plot…
Great! Always good to have another like-minded TLB lover back into discussion mode. You are like a fellow traveller on the same journey who took a break and then came to rejoin us. You must been shocked by the number of comments this forum has accumulated during the short period you were away.
I have created a link to place the drama in the context of important timeline in history. To help us understand when did some of those events took place in the drama. This timeline is created based on Wikipedia and other online sources, and, I suspect are merely best estimates. But they are good enough, even if they could be off by a month or two in actual history
Honestly, the levels of irritation this character has inspired in me, can only compete with Jin Mi and Jin Mi…
It is ok. Take your time. People here have abundant patience. Many will be keen to engage in serious discussions about some of the key characters in this drama.
Great analysis! Sun is the best archer in the grassland, so he could have shot her again if he missed a critical…
Oh yes! A gathering of all the characters, 10 years from the last scene in E49. Listening to mummy Changge, uncle Mujin, maybe even auntie Princess Zhen Zhu and the teenage Yuan Niang. We can just imagine what a gathering that will be! They will have so many tales to tell to mummy Changge and daddy AS's little ones

I completely agree with you about Reba being a perfect fit for this role. I literally cannot imagine any other…
Next year, we shall see. Lusi has many ongoing projects with serious roles. One of those should be shown by next year. She did have a serious role in "Love of Thousand Years". I watched a bit of it. Went the comments section of that drama. Broadcast last year. Till now, only 784 comments in MDL. That is always an indication that the drama is not a good one. Which usually means FL or ML did not well or no chemistry, or poor editing. One of those reasons or combination of reasons.
TLB is Lusi's 2nd chance. She did ok. Delivered what she had to. Next year, she will get to play main FL lead, with lots and lots of screen time. If she does well, I will watch, you will watch. If she bombs again, it will create a big dent in her acting career.
Great analysis! Sun is the best archer in the grassland, so he could have shot her again if he missed a critical…
Oh, yes!! Once the kids come along, mummy Changge will be more home bound. And she will have lots of time to tell the kids what she went through with daddy. Maybe even starting with the story of how mummy beat daddy in cuju ball!
I just created a pdf of Volume 1 & 2 of the manhua. Here is the link to my TLB folder:https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1CW0Az9mL5uSoDjQNXAwaz8U6t11Scmmv?usp=sharingI…
Have not got the time to view the whole thing that you have uploaded. But I must say I have a big problem reading it because they do all the dialogue from right to left, instead of the left to right that we are more used to
I must say the more you look at it, the more you understand why the producer and director wanted Reba to do play Changge. Visually, her resemblance to the Changge in the manhua is stuning. Reba's mole is more to the right and by the side, compared to the Changge in the manhua, which is more like the centre part of her right eye. So that mole was more visible in the manhua.
But this is a small issue. The cameraman can use angles to let viewers see the mole from time to time. And it will be near to impossible to find another A list actress with a real mole that is better than what Reba has. Most important I think is that the mole is on the same eye, the right eye.
And then the hairstyle people created that two strands of hair by the side. The costume people did the rest.
Reba is of course much bigger size than the Changge in the manhua. Maybe at least 30% bigger. Her eyes not as big as the one in manhua. But the size of her eyes in the manhua may not be realistic. I don't think we can ever find a girl with eyes that big. Xia Da drew it that big to gain readers' attention, and to compensate for Changge's small stature.
From a visual viewpoint, I can now see why the producer really wanted Reba to play Changge. The overall resemblance is stunning. The director provided support from an acting point of view. He felt certain Reba would be able to bring Changge from the manhua into our living room.
I have yet to read much of it. But the little that I read show that Changge is very very good in using flattery. The AS in the manhua must have a very big ego. And Changge kept feeding that ego, so that she can get what she wants and survive in the grasslands.
To be honest I do agree with you that the the plot did become weaker towards the end. The reason for me thinking…
I am not too concerned about those who said Zhao Lusi's performance in TLB was great. It is clear to everyone who bore the greatest burden in carrying this drama.
Zhao Lusi will have plenty of opporutinities to her true acting abilities next year, when many of her more serious-role dramas will be rolled out.
Here in TLB, her role was not much. So, I am always kind of suspicious when people said her character was great and her acting was great. I just want to see where they are coming from
Great analysis! Sun is the best archer in the grassland, so he could have shot her again if he missed a critical…
I did not know about that interview. Really sweet the way Reba said it. It was painful, yet sweet, when Changge's kids knew that daddy could have aimed a bit lower and hit mummy's heart.
