I decided last night to suck it up and subscribe on Youtube to the KUKAN DRAMA ENGLISH channel for $2.99/ month to watch SEE HER AGAIN with Cantonese spoken. It makes a more enjoyable viewing experience for me. Episodes 4 and 5 were available last night and this morning episodes 6 and 7 became available so I will be watching them tonight.
Thanks for the good news. I just checked and the 2024 KBS DRAMA SPECIAL is now on Viki US’ “Coming Soon” list. It says there that episode one.will be available in 11 days so I guess that makes it Dec. 2 or 3. I already watched episode one on Kocowa’s 24 hour freeby option. Tang Joon-sang and Nam Da-reum were wonderful together in THE HISTORY OF US.
Just curious, why do you want to watch the Cantonese version if you can't tell if it's Mandarin or Cantonese?
I can recognize the difference. My first visit to Asia was in 2015 to Hong Kong. My introduction to any kind of Asian dramas was In 2016 to TVB Hong Kong cop shows LIVES OF OMISSION and HIGHS AND LOWS. So if I am watching a cops/crime/mystery drama taking place in Hong Kong I would prefer hearing the local language/dialect which is Cantonese.
I don’t know if it is ‘inspired’ from TUNNEL but I definitely got TUNNEL vibes in the early episodes. William CHAN’s character Detective Yang Guang Yao and Choi Jin-hyuk’s (TUNNEL) character Detective Park Gwang-ho are definitely cut from the same cloth and would make great partners LOL. They definitely think alike. Both early on had to be warned that roughing up suspects was not acceptable now in the modern enlightened time they have found themselves in.
US viewer and I have watched (and enjoyed) through episode 3 on Tencent VIP and I am sure I am getting a mandarin dubbed version. I just compared episode one on Tencent VIP with episode one on Kukan Drama Channel on Youtube and I believe Kukan is carrying the cantonese version which is the one I wanted to watch. However I think I will stay with Tencent VIP because I don’t want to wait for the episodes to show up delayed on alternate sites.
First three episodes on Tencent. Ep 2 and 3 are VIP and then express for episode 4. Driving me crazy how now every…
Question about Tencent Express. If one does not pay for express will all the episodes be eventually available on Tencent VIP? I totally agree with you about being squeezed to pay extra is super annoying.
I finished but ultimately I found DOUBT a plod. The episodes were at least 10 minutes too long with the Director showing off with cinematic artsiness. To travel along for 10 episodes with all the main characters unlikeable did not make for me an enjoyable watch. I particularly felt sorry for Han Ye-ri because the fine actor she is, she deserved a better developed character imo.
I'm ashamed to say this, in my country there's no availability fro Spain to watch any South Korean, Chinese or…
I am sorry to hear you experience so much difficulty. Availability is always a throw of the dice. Both Viki and Kocowa report they are available in Spain. For cdramas I would be surprised if iQIYI and Youku were not available for subscriptions from Spain. Then there is Youtube which has loads of free material which may require some searching. I gave up and paid Youtube to go ad free so the viewing experience is much more enjoyable and I watch it on my tv via Roku.
The Chinese title is "Snow Maze" and it fits the plot perfectly. But English translations have always been less…
Thanks Potato Chip for the reply. I just finished THE FIRST SHOT a few days ago and I loved it. I usually skip the final credits until the last episode and then watch/listen to the final credits. Interestingly when I finally watched/listed to the final credits and ost the ‘snow’ maze made sense. The ‘snow maze’ eventually evolved into a maze of white crystals (like crystal meth). (Lol at least that is my interpretation. ) Great production.
If it's licensed to KOCOWA, it will likely be on Viki.
Now I am not sure about Viki US getting a license. MARRY YOU is a Channel A production not one from the former Kocowa big 3: KBS, SBS, MBC. In the past my observation for licensing for big 3 dramas was; first Kocowa and then Viki. If Kocowa is now licensing Channel A and JTBC dramas well Viki may just be out of luck.
Kocowa and free for the first 24 hours. On the Kocowa home page click on TASTE24HR. It may still be available. Even though I had cancelled my subscription a couple of years ago now I was still able to login with my old password etc.

I currently have Tencent VIP.
