girl imagine you came to the chinese novel world. I must have read thousands of second chance/revenge plot/evil sister or friend/ml also time travelled plots. I'm not even exaggerating. this has grown into its own genre

I also agree, I was a fan of him from waikiki and follow his hilarious tiktoks so I was wondering if he could pull off this role, but right in that scene where she tried to break up with him and his face contorted with RAGE, bro that scene was terrifying. I think he's actually doing a great job of playing abusive bf because the dichotomy between his cheerful persona versus the monster he is inside is actually pretty realistic for many two faced abusers irl.

tbh I can kindaaaa wave that over bc man just died after finding out the girl he cared abt was brutally murdered and if he had done a little bit more, he could have prevented it. but no one can know he's from the future and he can't just say HEY BREAK UP WITH UR BF AND UR RATCHET BFF OR YOU'LL BE MURDERED. BTW YOU'LL HAVE CANCER IN TEN YEARS. Bc they'd put him in a mental hospital and he doesn't know that she also is from the future. + since he's back, that's already a variable of change to the timeline and he has no idea if that could push the events of her death to happen earlier. when will she be murdered? where? how? no clue. a new future is being written.

if i came back to life and had the chance to save my loved one i would be handcuffing myself to their side until i eliminated the dangers once and for all. Like I would NOT play, call me crazy, but i wouldn't be taking any chances.
so with that perspective, all things considered.....ML actually has a lot of restraint

(Not to mention, this girl is a walking hazard. Let's not forget that she nearly cracked her skull open THREE seperate times within 10 mins of coming back to the past, if he hadn't been hovering around lmao)

I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE that ML is giving awkward, putting-his-foot-into-his-mouth, introverted dork w good intentions à la Matthew Mcfayden's Mr. Darcy.

When he stumbled on his words and came up with the dumbest possible excuses and stared at her with the most awkward face known to man and tripped himself bc he was so shooketh at how pretty her smile is and then tripped going back into his office and then instantly called his sister to bribe her into getting a suit makeover like a down-bad ML should just bc FL made one comment on it.....now this.....this is what I'm here for.

I have to say that I like this version of the ML a lot more than the webtoon ML bc the webtoon ML felt like your typical suave, has-everything-together-always-calculated ceo ML, but drama Clark-Kent-In-Disguise is somehow both a steady, reliable presence with solid mature dude vibes but also a mess™, and I think that gives him a unique feel that makes him fun to watch

not really. if you follow webtoons, you'd see that there are a million out there with this same exact formula. this revenge rebirth trope has become its own genre. besides that, the characters themselves are pretty different. for one, I thought the FL in PMR was too meek at times. Also, this show has an element of "stealing fate" to it, that adds an original twist.

i think ppl are so used to flower boy MLs that now we have a more "manly" one, they cant stand it, idk how else to explain it

Cant believe i saw some folks thinking rowoon would have done better....i liked him in extraordinary you but he is not the best actor. I think this actor is at least better with the subtle emotions.

I think the ML's glasses and ill fitting suit are on purpose and it makes sense to me. He's a chaebol in disguise right now, prolly doesnt want to dress all fancy smancy when he's supposed to be a regular manager. He gives me Clark Kent vibes, and I'm digging it. About time we got a nerdy, awkward ML!

I'm sure he'll have his lil makeover/style re-do down the line, but I'm already fond of the Clark Kent look. I think the actor pulls it off well.
