Yes! A role reversal of sorts would be fun to watch. I read a translation of what I think was a fairly recent…
YES!! We need that! I've been saying we need them in something grittier and darker-themed. Something to challenge them more so they can grow as actors and diversity their acting portfolio. They both have proven they can be dynamic through their other ventures in the industry, so as actors, why not give them that chance? So far, BossNoeul have only been in 2 series but they can easily be typecasted. However, they are very young, and very popular both locally and internationally, so they have must have a say on what roles they want and accept right? I wanna see Boss as a hardcore gangster and Noeul as anything other than his usual bubbly self. I love him to death in the roles he currently plays, but I wouldn't mind something completely different and new, and closer to his alter ego either. Just saying. This is the kind of fan service A LOT of us want.

I couldn't agree more! like I said in previous comments, with a plot such as this one, with characters such as…
Hi, ya I wouldn't say it's falling flat. I just think it needs more episodes to be fully fleshed out given its complexed plot. A lot of people have been confused throughout its run, and the pacing would actually be spot-on, even though Phu found out Cir's secret in EP.9 if we had 12-16 episodes to finish the story. With that many episodes, I believe even Jin & Wim's romance could have been developed better. Hell, we don't even know why Jin can read minds. I thought his power would be relevant to the parallel world 's plot but so far, nope. I think it's just his own thing, and relevant for his his plot and romance with Wim alone, otherwise, the story would have told us by now if it were.

I know the production team purposely left out some scenes for the box set, but I still feel cheated. The final episode hasn't premiered yet, but I cannot help but foresee it being rushed and anticlimactic. The special episode will be about Ep.8 Cir & his Phu, so once Ep.10 is over, we are done with the Phu and Cir we have gotten to know and love πŸ’• from this world. Which sucks.

We need more story to satisfy the plot. There's simply too much to tell with only one more episode, so I don't know what they're going to do. I also worry that Phu and Cir will reconcile too easily/quickly to move on and wrap on the many other subplots of the story even though the whole episode should be, realistically, dedicated to the fallout of the secret, Phu's anger and sadness towards Cir, their breakup, Phu coming to terms with it, and then their hopeful reconciliation. Time will tell

I couldn't agree more! like I said in previous comments, with a plot such as this one, with characters such as these, this show needs AT LEAST, 12 if not 14-16 episodes for a full out, well-paced, and conclusive story. All of the characters, including the villains would have their story arcs fleshed out, well thought character development, and enough episodes to display romances of the couples. There really is too much story left to tell and there is so little time. The show has been great this far and I am REALLY worried they will ruin it with a rushed ending and still leave a lot of loose ends unfulfilled.

Agreed. There are still a lot of loose ends to tie up in just the last episode, and I have a feeling they are…
Regarding Blackshirt Cirrus, thanks for trying to explain but I am well aware of who he is thanks to EP 8. I was watching, and paying attention so that's not the issue. What I meant was, in EP. 9, he seemed to be more in control of the other Cirs' comings and goings than he let on but maybe I am just overthinking it. About the car thrives, I must of missed that or have forgotten. I thought the students were just gossiping about things they had no idea about what was really going on, and after defeating them, I remember Cir saying, "as long as Phu is safe" so I thought they were trying to do something to his car, and subsequently Ph, but it makes sense they were just trying to break in to steal. Thanks for the information. I still think there are too many side plots to resolve in just one episode, but I guess we will have to see what happens.

I don't think Cirrus still thinks the parallel worlds are a dream. I believe he said that because he was protecting his secret since Phu was asking whether he saw the other Phu while he was "away".

Of course he is aware there are other parallel worlds. The problem is, he is still lying to Phu. I could be wrong about this, but it makes sense that he didn't want Phu to believe he was with the non-existent one from his lie, and then he'd have to make up a whole other story of his time in his fake OG universe, versus saying it was just some dream he doesn't remember, which is more believable and easier to get away with.

Also, I watched episode 9 preview from last week and we are missing a scene from when the are in the bedroom and Cir is about to confess. Am I wrong about that, or am I right? It was not in the uncut version either, so was that false advertising or is it saved for the box set, which is still false advertising because I was looking forward to watching that. Phu was wearing the purple version of his pajamas in the scene. Can someone help me out?

Me too, that's why I'm really worried. Out of all the BLs, this one really deserved at least 12 episodes. I don't know what they were thinking with the episode count. The show has been pretty stellar thus far. I don't want them to ruin it with a sloppy, rushed ending that ignores the finer details that really shouldn't be ignored. Those details makes the show stand out more than it does, and adds a refinement to its plot. Ignoring that or not addressing those details they introduced already is a big mistake.

Also the scar on Cir’s head disappearing and reapppearing depending on which Cir it is. Phukans from 2 different…
I never read the book of this series, and I know that Mental Illness was a valid theory. But like @apathy said, in this thread, we are talking about episode 8 and onwards, as I said so in my earlier comments. Blackshirt Cir explained that parallel worlds exists and that there a infinite Cirs and Phus with different personalities who are destined to meet and fall in love. Yet, for some reason people aren't registering that fact and still think Cir is suffering from some mental illness in a supernatural show, with only 2 episodes left to go, and are still acting all confused and bothered, by making the plot more complicated than it already is or needs to be. It's frustrating.

They're really going to do that on the last episode. Also only 10 episodes for a mind-bender show is crazy.
Agreed. There are still a lot of loose ends to tie up in just the last episode, and I have a feeling they are not going to address all of them, which I really hate because it's just pure lazy writing.

- Jin's mind reading dilemma around Wim and resolving their relationship conflict.
- Cir's Mother and her interference in his and Phu's lives.
- Is Cir gonna meetup with his father and get closure/resolve their conflict or let go of his resentment towards him?
- What about Phu seeing his alternate in bed with Blackshirt Cirrus through a dream in EP. 1? The one Phu immediately forgot about upon waking up?
- Are we going to get answers about those guys trying to kill Phu since the very beginning of EP. 1? What event led Cirrus to try keeping Phu safe from those guys meddling with Phu's car? (maybe they addressed this and I missed it).
- Who is Blackshirt Cirrus really?

Like I said, there are so many questions and loose ends to be answered and tied up. I hope I'm wrong about them not addressing everything but I'm not gonna hold my breath since some of these loose ends have been introduced earlier on in the series and still haven't been acknowledged. This final episode better have the duration of a feature-length movie for everything to come into fruition, and have a conclusive end that satisfies the plot.

8 underrated??? It’s too high !I smell a very biased BossNoeul fan ..You can’t even compare them. Kinnporsche…
Great response to the hater above! TBNW is a great show, and if you think it compares to KinnPorsche for your own reasons, then that's your business and no one else's. You don't have to defend yourself or justify why you like this show just as much as did KinnPorsche. TBNW is a fantastic piece of media as was KinnPorsche for vastly different and similar reasons for vastly different and similar viewers and fans. BossNoeul deserves their praise and success, and I respect the hell out of you for putting that hater in their place! Bravo! I cheered so hard and laughed my a$$ off in support of you when I read your comments. I agree whole heartedly πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ€£πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸΎ Bravo

I don't think they are, some are just probably watching from edits and waiting to watch the whole series once…
LOL, not gonna lie, I really enjoyed 4 minutes but that show did confuse the hell out of me. By the end, I was 90% sure I understood everything and what was happening to our MCs but now when I try to really think about it, I am lost. I need to go back and watch it again, especially before season 2 releases.

I'm not trying to be rude either because Lord knows I'm not the smartest pea in the pod, but if I can understand this, I don't understand why others cannot? Like, in earlier episodes, I can see the confusion but now? With only 2 episodes left? No, I don't see how people still think Cir can't see his variant's parallel worlds/lives and believe this whole mess is summed up to a dream or mental illness. The variants in the parallel worlds are similar to reincarnation if you think about it. Plus, it was announced yesterday that there will be a special episode about Man-Bun Cir's developing romance with his nerdy Phu in late March, so if that's not a confirmation that there ARE parallel universes in a show called The Boy Next World, and that Cir can see them, as well as his and Phu's other selves lives' together, then I don't know what is πŸ˜“πŸ€·πŸΎβ€β™€οΈ.

Can people stop trying to have a fixed ship. I like some fixed ship and thats great but I feel like we don't need…
It's ok to be cast with other people for a romantic role, so long as they have really good chemistry. It's all about, and always will be about chemistry! Kong and Thomas have great chemistry, they seem to work well together, and people have gotten used to them. However, they are new enough to the public eye that both could venture out and work on other projects, together or separately, without causing too much fuss. So long as their coworkers outside their ship has good chemistry with them.

I don't know why so many people seem confused over the plot in the pilot and think it's all over the place because so far, it seems pretty straightforward. The only thing that is a little bit messy and tangled is the video game theme, and the love dynamics between the characters, but it doesn't seem too complicated as far as the plot goes.

PILOT TRAILER RECAP EXPLAINED/BREAKDOWN:
From what I gathered, Tommy's character had his back up against the wall, or in his case, a ledge. He was facing a life-or-death situation against an unknown foe, so he took a calculated risk and fell? Next thing we know, he's back at university, all fine and dandy, except he's suffering from amnesia, but he's the talk of the town.

The school doesn't have seniority, instead, it is socially governed by four factions run by four influential students "Heads" who are in power so long as their families are most formidable and prosperous in the real world. The working class percentage of the university's student body is known as "Lice" and is meant to serve the Rich, the "Elites", who are as mentioned before, governed by one of the four Heads. Tommy is poor, so he is one of the Lice, and due to his amnesia, he cannot remember which Head he serves under. The majority of the pilot introduces each of the Heads, their awful personalities, Tommy's interactions with them, Tommy's re-acclimation to the school's environment, as well as some of the Head's degrading pastimes.

All four Heads seem to be vying for Tommy's servitude and are wondering which one of them he will choose to submit to. They hold a small conference for the four of them to discuss what to do about Tomm being currently"Headless." Meanwhile, Tommy is in the shower and Tutor's character joins him where they covertly discuss the beginnings of some plan to take down the school. That's when he's summoned, mid-shower to present himself to the Heads and make his decision on which one of them will, essentially, be his master once and for all πŸ™„.

The audience is then given a quick refresher on Tommy's encounters with each of the Heads through flashbacks. Predictably, Tommy says F*ck you to them, turns his back, and walks out leaving them dumbfounded, amused, intrigued, flabbergasted, and angry all at once.

The last thing we see is Tommy's voiceover stating he will take down the school and its Heads once and for all. Although, he is definitely going to need a lot more help and allies than just Tutor's character if he's going to take on four incredibly rich, powerful, and influential soon-to-be rulers of Thailand πŸ˜‚. The story looks good. It does seem like a mix-mashup of Elite, Pretty Little Liars, and Only Fans as a lot of other commenters pointed out. There will be sex, mystery, attempted murder, affairs, backstabbing, a**holes, b*tches, a lot of rich prisses with superiority complexes, authoritarian professors, toxicity, abuse, constant humiliation, traitors, and of course, secrets, and a whole lot of lies. Stay tuned! Although the video game thing is kind of out there. I am scratching my head on that one. But anyway, I hope this breakdown helps some of you or I just wasted my time recapping the trailer, and didn't help at all, lol.

Though Cir 3 was a bit of an Asshole, he did still care for Phu on some level, which was clearly shown. I really would love to see his relationship with his Phukan from his world develop and blossom now that they have finally met and we have witnessed their meet-cute. Watching the hardened, rebellious, musician Cirrus that we have gotten to know a bit about throughout episode 8, pursue and date innocent, well-mannered, nerdy, and soft Phukan is definitely something I would love to watch.

I would love to have a season two where we could watch their relationship grow and flourish 😭🀩. One can only dream. At least we have the knowledge and solace of knowing they will fall in love and be together forever, but I want to see it happen in reality. Although The Boy Next World is a fitting title, this show should have been called "Every You, Every Me" but Mick's show got to it first πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…. I can't wait for episode 9.

He reminded me way to much of Payu, especially with that hair in a bun. I think that might be the difference,…
Man bun Cir (Cir #3) is nothing like Payu, except for the mini-ponytail. Cir #3 is colder, harsher and a bit of a dick. He has a "ruff around the edges " rebel vibe going on, while Payu is warmer, kinder and a bit nicer but still stern and well-disciplined/mannered. I think you guys are confusing them because of their physical aesthetic similarities.
