The Vineyard Man fits the “no break up” description. Main couple became officially together near the end of episode 15. The ending was a happy one with a wedding and plenty of kids after several years later.

Keep watch of the real has come it has 18 episodes to go but after all the hurdles the main couple has been through…
I’m watching an old kdrama The Vineyard Man right now and they said this one has one of the best endings, so we’ll see.

Hmmm…which episode? Is this the one with Lee Dong-Wok and Yoo in-Na? I didn’t remember them breaking up here.
Oh yes, you’re right. They broke up and got together in episode 15. Lol, my memory is bad, sorry about that. I really thought there was no break up. I removed it from the list already. Thank you! 😊

“SKIP A BEAT” Spoiler
I just finished watching this drama and would like to share some spoilers for those who are wondering if they should watch this or not. You probably need to skip some parts if you plan to watch this one.

In the first episodes, the ML and FL were in such a dark, intense, toxic relationship that you would hate the ML and want the FL to leave him. They have a boss/secretary relationship in public but have been lovers in secret for 3 years. According to the plot, the ML was in a car accident 4 years ago. As a result, he was moody, bad-tempered, cold, possessive, jealous, and bipolar. I admit even I found the ML a bit scary when he’s in one of his moods lol.

Now the ML was going to get engaged to another woman due to his family’s arrangements while having no intention of letting the FL go…. talk about having your cake and eat it. Finally, in episode 3 was when the FL had had enough, quit her job, and broke things off with the ML. He, of course, would not let her go, threatening that he will find her no matter where she goes. In real life, it’s best to get a restraining order at that point. He was getting downright scary, stalking her when she stayed at her friend’s house, then when she escaped to the hotel he was there, too. He was becoming more obsessive towards her, and you can see their chemistry together, they had a lot of scenes that were passionate and intense. I was actually glad the FL was strong enough to kick the ML and escape when he had her trapped in a hotel room. He even had the gall to tell her that his marriage was just a business arrangement as he tried to pin her against the wall and kissed her against her will. You could tell her resistance excites him as he chased after her in the hotel corridor, so you know he’s not going to let her go just like that if he caught her.

I was rooting for the SML who treats the FL more kindly and gently. After all, I’ve seen SMLs who got the girl in the end. The FL managed to call the SML and he helped her escape, then let her stay in a guesthouse where the ML cannot find her. For the meantime, the ML was not giving up but kept on searching for her whereabouts. He even harassed and physically assaulted the SML because he suspected that the SML knew the FL’s whereabouts and he was demanding to know where he took the FL. Plus he was insanely jealous and out of control. It didn’t help that the ML was rich and powerful enough to wreak havoc on the SML’s business as well, which he did on purpose to draw the FL out of hiding. When the FL went to the ML to confront him about that, he agreed to let the SML off if she returns to him. At first I was like, drat, I was hoping it’ll be years before the ML can find the FL… the “break up” was so short-lived it only took days for the FL to return to the ML. But the FL was just biding her time and on the day the ML was supposed to have his engagement party, she really left with every intention of disappearing from his life for good.

The ML backed out of his engagement and went after the FL. She ran back to her hometown and her parents. The SML found her, and the ML found them. Lol, I swear this FL must have a GPS tracker since no matter where she goes, the 2 men seem to be able to find her no matter what. She was literally in the middle of a physical tug and war between the 2 men with her as the human rope, but good thing her mom was there. Lol, there’s nothing like a fiercely protective mother to stop the ML cold in his tracks. But the ML is made of sterner stuff as well and nothing really gets in his way if he wants something so badly. In episode 4, it became somewhat less heavy and dark as in this episode was the starting point of the ML’s character development.

However, there’s twist in the plot, but I’m not going into details. Turns out the FL is as crazy for her reasons in staying and putting up with the ML for 3 years. But when the ML found out her reason, he walked out feeling devastated and almost suicidal. But he was also realizing how important the FL is to him and does not want to lose her. Despite being forcefully locked in his room at his mother’s orders, he still managed to escape to run to the FL (Tagged: clingy, obssessed and desperate male lead). The SML also offered the FL a position in one of his companies in France which would make it harder for the ML to find her, but Stockholm Syndrome in a relationship is real. I wish she had taken his offer and then stayed there for years before meeting the ML again. But the ML managed to talk her into staying once again because he’s not afraid to tell the FL that he cannot live without her. No wonder some women find it hard to leave an abusive relationship, but in this story the ML supposedly had a character development and redemption so I guess that’s why this is still labeled a romantic drama instead of a psychological thriller.

Anyway, the FL was calling the shots now, and while she stayed with the ML, her reason for doing so was related to the plot twist I mentioned earlier, so she did not consider herself to be in an official relationship with the ML anymore and he had to learn to accept and respect that, meaning if she does not want to share his bed like she did in the past, then he cannot force her. Okay, so maybe he still tried his luck initially but a good, swift kick to his dragon legacy delivered by the FL that literally brought him to his knees taught him to think twice before pulling the same tricks again. The ML also pulled some stunt out of his….ahem… rabbit hat, in his bid to win the FL back, which gave me second-hand embarrassment for him.

Then the drama plot turned South and the sympathy award went to the ML while the FL became the frustrating character here. In episode 9, more drama ensues, including a pregnancy and miscarriage, then more misunderstandings. By this time, you’re probably going to feel like dropping the drama. In episode 14 was when the FL made her move by exposing the SFL in public for causing her miscarriage. Then the SFL got served with an Intentional Injury lawsuit on top of the public humiliation she suffered. I applauded the FL for doing that. And I also appreciated that the ML stood firm against any pleading to give the SFL leniency so she won’t go to jail. Then more drama on top of another followed, with kidnapping thrown into the mix. But the ML came to the FL’s rescue and being heavily injured from saving the woman he loves gave him brownie points in my eyes.

In episode 15, the FL was ready to listen to explanations coming from the ML, and the FL’s heart started thawing out again and they finally got back together. Now a strong couple, they’re back to their lovey-dovey stage and they faced problems and setbacks together. At this point, I was just wishing that the rest of the villainous characters should already get their just desserts but since there are 20 episodes, I guess they’re still needed to drive the plot forward now that the main couple have gotten their relationship back on the right track and they don’t have any more conflict between them. So I just went ahead and enjoyed watching the no-more-break-up episodes from episodes 15 till the end. Happy ending for the main couple, and the ones who deserved it got punished.

If my memory is not wrong, they get together in ep15 - and stay together till the end, so almost 40 episodes of…
Oh yes, I remember this drama, this is actually quite a good family drama. Thanks for suggesting this. If nobody will mind about the short time the FL was wavering about being with the ML due to some family pressure, which resolved fairly quickly, then I will add it in. The ML was really a nice guy if I recall. It’s been years since I’ve seen this.

The Youth Memories (38 episodes)
This drama fits the no-break up list, however, the focus during more than the first half of the show was the ML and his best friend falling in love with this girl and she became the ML’s girlfriend while the FL was in love with him the whole time and suffered in silence. The ML and his girlfriend broke up in Episode 20. From Episode 21, the FL took care of the ML while he recovered from his serious injuries after his stint in the military. The ML started falling in love with her and they became an official couple in episode 25. The ML’s ex-girlfriend got together with his best friend but was still in love with the ML. In episode 27, she returned and tried to get him back but he had moved on and really loved the FL so he turned her down and never looked back. The ex-girlfriend married the ML’s best friend but was never happy afterwards during their marriage. The ML and FL were happy together, and through the years they were together, the ML, from being poor, became a rich businessman, and the FL became a doctor. They finally got married in episode 34, and there was a time skip of several more years because they had a daughter who was entering her teens by then. The main couple supported and loved each other through thick and thin, they had built a great life and had a happy family together. The ML’s ex-girlfriend and best friend were the opposite, childless, and eventually divorced. The story started in the 1970’s and ended somewhere in the 2020’s, I think. The actors did a great job with their acting, but their romance was not really the sole focus of the story. Don’t expect great chemistry like in “Here We Meet Again”. There’s a lot of hugs and emotional dialogues here, but there was only 1 kiss shown during their wedding night, and it wasn’t the passionate kind either. The audience was just left to read between the lines. But the ending was still good and heartwarming for this slice of life drama. I’m just going to post this as a special mention because l’m not sure if everyone would like watching the ML having another girlfriend before he got together with the FL.
