It was "presented" in ep1 that he committed suicide...BUT SPOILER!!! There were subtle hints from ep1 that it was not a suicide, but murder in every timeline. It got confirmed in Ep8 when timeline repeated exactly like Ep1, with every event exactly being same as ep1.
Also in the Script book of Lovely Runner, it was confirmed by the writer in detail that he never commited suicide in any timeline.
Looks like they are leaving a room for another season.
Those characters at the end are from Writer's other webtoons (moving, timing and bridge). All these characters are definitely coming together in next installment of Writer.
