Yep... Fang Zhou and Tang Lici is my ship (tho it's alr a SE b4 drama even started) 😩

We can see at first that Liu Yan didn't want Tang Lici there and would be jealous, but after many years of spending time? Not sure if it lasted all those years since we are only getting flashbacks and not a linear plot sadly (which would've been nice to see). But it is clear he seemed to have fun spending time with Tang Lici at some point.

About believing he murdered Fang Zhou, I guess it's bc he thought he himself witnessed Fang Zhou's death and Tang Lici was there (when it was sadly all a misunderstanding) 😭 So ofc, if it's truly loving someone, then I agree that he doesn't actually truly love him. He's more like obsessed with him and what he sees in front of him sadly, which to him, is Tang Lici's lies.

It's unfortunate bc he failed to follow the teachings of Fang Zhou which is crazy in itself since he basically grew up being taught by him. It's a pity for Fang Zhou if you ask me... Poor guy took him in only for him to turn out like this after his death.

I'm not sure about that. Maybe he was jealous but I think he actually loved Tang Lici. You can tell by the way he spends time with him back in Zhoudi Tower, how he loves to interact, play with, and tease him. Also, ig you can confirm this thru Alen Fang's words about his character's thoughts on Tang Lici: He is the one I love and hate the most. He didn't even say that about Fang Zhou (loving him the most) which is a bit of a shocker.

So it is even possible he was jealous that Tang Lici's attention was more on Fang Zhou. I'm not sure if they will reveal this but let's see.

I swear Liu Yan is getting on my nerves for never trusting Tang Lici like omgggg he's always gonna think he's telling lies one after another!! POOR A'LI!!!!!! I have no hope anymore... One moment I think, "Will he finally believe in him?" only to not trust him again... Just like A'Li, I'm alr tired of Liu Yan for never trusting him, and bc of this, things just get worse (ex: Gui Mudan taking Fang Zhou's body) 😭😭

Frrr I won't forget them as the Tantai brothers, but watching them here honestly makes me completely forget they were brothers who weren't even close at all bc of how beautiful and amazing their friendship is here! Like imagine watching this and then TTEOTM after? Not fun to think about LOL

Yes! Li Lun from Fangs of Fortune! He has lots of grudges against the ML. They basically grew up together and were the closest to each other, but due to misunderstandings and their differences (like values), he hates (and also loves) him in the present just like Liu Yan. Tbh, Li Lun and him (Yuanzhou - ML) have a similar dynamic in some way with the love and hate going on btw them. Liu Yan wants to kill Tang Lici's friends? Same with Li Lun to Yuanzhou. In the end, we see they love and hate each other at the same time lol. I will say tho that the ML has also found his true soulmate (who is the SML) here. Oh, right. Li Lun also goes into the dark side like Liu Yan. So they aren't like always together like the ML is with his friends that we often travels with bc they've gone to the dark side lol.

Overall, I feel they are similar characters. Not only that, but they share a similar dynamics with the MLs. Ever since I started watching this drama, I got reminded a lot of Li Lun with his character lol.

Also I'm surprised you think he sounds different in both TBOY and DY when he's dubbed by himself. Maybe he just gives off a different vibe when speaking both characters ig. But to say his VA is the worst is a bit... 😅

Hmm idk... same as two other characters tho? MDL can't always be trusted~ You can try Dramawiki (or Baidu Baike which is even more accurate which u can see in the links on the Dramawiki drama pages). Anyways, he isn't dubbed. I know his voice :)

I wouldn't mind those two being together. I find them actually cute when initially I would've preferred no romance but they have chemistry and make a lovely pairing! 🥹 Anyways they better give us the HE like please don't give us the expected BE/OE and surprise us with the unexpected HE instead (I'm not gonna have high hopes but let's see about it ig...) 😭

I hope you're right. Even tho I won't have high hopes for it, I would love more than 40 eps for this kind of drama. It feels like it needs more anyway imo. A special edition ep would also be really nice... 🥲

Lol I was thinking they might but I did learn the drama won't have romance so I wasn't exactly expecting it skdjskfjks but honestly I feel like they would've made a cute cp 🫣 But a cool partners in crime duo works very well for them as well (I wished we got to see more of them fighting) 😩

Edit: You're right. Those one-sided love is just not it. You can easily tell those wouldn't even work out anyway and that they don't have the chemistry for it lol.

Anyone else found Chi Yun and Chunji such a cute and badass duo? Not to mention the actors are the same age (same with me) so I found it even more fun watching them! I also really thought they played off so well with each other! I really miss their dynamics from earlier eps like why'd they throw it out the window so quickly like that 💔

Bai Shu? I watched him in so many dramas and not once did I hear him dubbed by others at all. He always dubs himself (from where I've seen him), and this drama is one of them. So unfortunately, you're complaining about him using his own voice which I'm surprised about... Ig you just don't like the way he dubbed himself here 😅 As for me, I can't imagine at all if I heard him dubbed no matter what. I've gotten so used to his voice that I would find it so awkward lol.

Atp Fang Zhou should be up in the support roles. He gets more screentime than a lot of the support characters listed lol. Plus, he's a very important character, very much loved and unforgettable to the viewers as well :D

Okay but is it just me who really wants to see Zhumei... Like I already had no hope for his appearance, but when you think about him only disappearing (not dying), you'd want more of him as he's one of those Zhou Dilou disciples... I will be sad if he never gets shown after he went missing and they put no closure to his character even tho I alr had no hope to begin with bc like what... he's gone just like that? 😭

You're right. I wished they added more eps bc I mean, maybe it was possible since the 40 ep policy is no more :( Either that or they could've given us 50-60 min hr long eps like TTEOTM! I am lowkey sad they didn't decide to add even more eps bc even I am worried they might have to rush things, but here's to hoping it fully delivers and doesn't feel that way! 😭🙏

Oh, ofc as much as I want Fang Zhou's revival, I can't accept Tang Lici's death~ And I alr don't believe Fang Zhou will come back anyway since he's been long gone... like couldn't they have given them another way where both could live honestly like ughhh that is just too sad!!!! But even as Tang Lici was getting emotional at the thought of reviving Fang Zhou bc that means he will be no more but that at least FZ gets a chance to live, it made me sad even tho I'm sure A'Li won't be able to succeed in this. (Sorry, this might have been a random addition to what we're discussing but here I am...)

Dang really? They say this when he has done so many bad things? Well, for Liu Yan, I hope to see him get a redemption arc if possible even if he has to die (don't spoil if he does if you alr know pls, but I won't be surprised if he gets a BE due to this). I would say I am enjoying watching him for sure tho he can be annoying for never believing in Tang Lici oof!

(I'm only on ep 30 so hoping to get no spoilers from this and up) As for Chunji, do they not even think about what she's gone thru, like seriously? Also, we don't exactly know about the truth behind Chunji rn. It's just speculation. Well, at least about the princess part, I don't think they explicitly revealed the truth behind if she's faking it or not (thanks to the help of someone, I'm now wondering if she's fake or not, and I so hope she's not). Anyways, can we stop with the (which feels like to me for many ppl out there) misogny...

And you're right. This drama is really interesting seeing all these different relationships and characters where we actually get to see some backstory to them so we can get some understanding of them.
