The family is getting on my nerve. I hope Lian Maner split up for real from that horrible family.
I think her character arc will be about learning what a family is and forgiveness etc with family. But hopefully in that process the really bad ones get arrested or die. :-p
After watching more until 6 episodes sometimes I think they made TXW character look like a useless fool in here…
Sheās the one who has come up with most of the plans. Sheās still learning the family dynamics and boundaries of the game. Also, while she has bugged the ML for ideas, heās so rarely supplied them I didnt read it as her being dumb. I haven't read her as useless. However, I didnt read the novel. I believe they may have dumbed her down in comparison. It is a problem in a lot of adaptations. I am worried they will really start dumbing her down as the show progresses. Thats another common issue. But so far this is smartly written. Fingers crossed they let her grow rather than hold her back to highlight the ML.
They say I love you and kiss (not on lips), so yes, and it didn't air in China
The first two thirds really could be bromance or BL with hints throughout. The last third, especially the last four episodes, felt very BL to me. But some disagree. Im not sure a kiss on the lips or actual sex scene is required to realize they have an emotional and physical relationship. Its clear from dialogue and other physical interactions including scenes where they kiss each otherās cheek.
I feel like it's still too soon for us to say if they actually made her character dumber. So far, she's been pretty…
Yeah, she doesnt seem dumb at all. Canāt say if she was smarter in the book, but Im enjoying her here. She seems pretty quick considering she is still learning what she can and cant do in the confines of the setting for this game. I thought the joke about web novels lying to her was pretty great. :)
all part of a game? oh not even 5 minutes in and i'm pissed off why can't we just have a wholesome slice of life…
I think they are doing it in a smart way. It may be too early to say for sure but so far theyāve set up a rich character arc for the FL to finally experience a real family vs what she has in the real world. Even if its a game, it doesn't negate the FLās feelings about everything. Plus when the family gets really annoying I dont have to turn off my brain and go with it despite no one anywhere acting like that. Instead they are crazy NPCās adding complexity and hilarity to the FLās adventure. So it becomes funny for me. :)
And I LOVE Man Er's parents, esp her mom. The way she (WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT) rushed to save Man Er during the…
Me too. I love how theyāve done such a good job showing that game or not this is the first time our FL is experiencing that kind of unconditional parental love. Im invested in the relationship .
I was excited when I saw promo pics of Joseph in another costume drama but It's a digital world with all AI has…
Its doing it way better than other dramas Iāve seen. Including eight hours. Also the ML seems to have some interesting mysteries surrounding him. Maybe check back at the end and read comments to see if it stayed a crazy family drama or morphed into something more. Its kind of hinting it might.
I haven't read this novel but most novels of this type has transmigrated or reincarnated plot device which is…
Im impressed by the character motivations and arc set ups so far. Yes its a gaming world but unlike other similar dramas that tack that on as a device to bypass censors and than have the characters illogically act like the world is real until the very end or have a weakly executed system, this one sets up a strong line for the FL to bond to this digital family and also never disguises the game while still making the world vivid and interesting. Plus the way they have hinted the ML is likely an NPC but may be a player (the āit really hurts lineā) is a fun mystery.
The ML is so stupid. The plan was to save the girl from getting married. So, why bring a baby? When was she pregnant…
He only had to trick the matchmaker and leave the family too flummoxed to know what to do long enough for the matchmaker to leave. Cause anything the family said would seem like a lie once the girl embraced the baby as her own. Who in their right mind would lie like that? Our ML and FL. Which is why they are great.
A supposed Chinese remake of 'Addicted: Heroin', I genuinely wondered why they decided on this, especially since…
Thats a fairly even review of the second half. I associate some of the pacing issues you described with an over reliance on following the source material. The three main arcs in the second half are from the first book. So is the ending. They work but arent as great as the initial found family set-up. However, the pacing and those arcs didnt detract for me because I like slice of life. I can definitely see why it would be hard since you donāt. Not sure how close the second season will follow the second book. Itāll be interesting to see if they keep this tone. The book is like a sexually graphic remarriage story. So we may see another tone shift.
