So far, all three of her suitors seem like a good match, but as she is looking for a naive, pure and obedient husband at this point, Lou Yao fits what she wants. Unfortunately, now that I've seen a few more episodes, it's clear that while she likes him, she's not in love with him. They're both indeed very clueless and maybe it's the fact that they are young and naive and idealistic that makes them so adorable. It's like watching two kids announce they're getting married.

As much as I like Ling Bu Yi, Lou Yao seems like he would make a better husband to her at this point (episode 13). I'm feeling a bit sad for him knowing he's not going to end up with her.

Hopefully enough to be tolerable. Although, I sometimes really hate it when they forget later on just how awful the people were just because they are family. Even if she starts treating her a bit better, that doesn't erase 15 years of mistreatment.

I'm on episode 4 and the FL's family is really hard to watch. Only the father seems like a good person at this point, but even he follows his wives ridiculous strict treatment that's totally unnecessary. Give Shao Shang some parental love!!!

Can someone tell me if the grandmother dies at some point (hopefully soon)? I can't stand her.

This drama promises an adorable and silly comedy and it delivers. It's funny and it's cute and light. A perfect drama to lift your mood. The plot is rather predictable, but these types of dramas aren't really about the plot. It's all about the characters, their relationships and their interactions. Jackie Li was perfect as Jin Feng. She's sassy, street smart, confident, adorable, kind and just. She's a breath of fresh air and her smile just lits up the screen. Li Hong Yi, despite his young age, is a very charismatic actor and fits the role of the young, suspicious emperor really well. As couple, their interactions were adorable from start to finish. They started out as a bickering couple who were pretty much forced upon each other and ended up being the most adorable and loving couple. This is arguably one of the most common tropes in dramas, but I really liked the development of their relationship and how much Jin Feng taught Yun Zhang and how he was willing to learn. I was glad to see that there was no common palace drama. The palace and the royal family seem to have a very harmonious relationship.

All in all, this was definitely worth watching.

Did you actually watch all the episodes? Wen Yuan is the most despicable character in the whole drama. He started out as a good person, but they quickly showed his true colours. He's a creepy sociopath. I'll have to agree that it was a waste. They should have just kept him as he was in the beginning. He should have stayed as her best friend that was a laid back person that was fun to be around.

I love novels. I will definitely read LoHP. I will probably need to read the PA novel before watching the drama.

Thank you for the explanation. I really appreciate the effort. I usually don't drop dramas once I start watching, because I want to see the ending even if I get bored along the way. Can be a curse, but can also be a blessing. I guess that was the main reason for hesitating to watch this drama, because I know that once I start, I will watch this till the bitter end. The war between Huang Chao and Lanxi was indeed to see who was better and will get to rule. I think it was inevitable, unless one of them would just give up, which is what happened when they realized there was a third person. There were also other battles in the war though, between the other kingdoms which we didn't get to see with all thebtime skips. Obviously they wouldn't just roll over and give their state up, so that's also inevitable. That's what I meant. Lanxi was preparing his army long before he was ever preparing to fight Huang Chao and I don't think it was to fight Feng Ju who he defeated without any help from and army. I suppose that's why I liked Qingzhou as a kingdom. They only ever wanted to protect their people and in the event that a new and wise emperor would arise, they were willing to follow. It was also nice to see both Huang Chao and Lanxi protecting the common people and fighting their battles away from them in contrast to Wuyuan, who used them as human shields against Huang Chao, knowing that he would not attack and risk the lived of the people.

Lanxi creating the flower to symbolize them sounds more interesting then them receiving it. It did feel like he only used a few petals in then tv show. He ate one himself and used a few in the medicine. Either way, the flowernmay or may not have been able to save her, but it will definitely not be able to save him, so if there's a season 2, I think you're right and they'll have to look for a specific cure.

When she got hurt in the end, I was thinking that they still had a lot of the flower left and why they weren't using it to save her again instead of taking his life essence. Did he really use the whole flower then or can it only be used once? When they were given the flower, it did seem like they would only be able to use it once. Maybe the book gave a better explanation or maybe the flower wasn't even in the book? Anyway, I think the war was inevitable and even Lanxi was preparing for it. There was no peaceful way to unite the kingdoms, whether it was Huang Chao or Lanxi who did it, so that never bothered me. I was however surprised that a careful person like Huang Chao trusted an elusive person like Wuyuan so unconditionally.

Good. I can start watching then. I hate it when so much content is cut that things stop making sense. I hope it's not that bad.

If there's a season 2, it would be mostly free of court politics, which would be nice. I really loved seeing the two of them free and doing whatever they wanted in the beginning. They would definitely be much happier. Bai Feng Xi was always happier just roaming the world and it was obvious right from the beginning that that's where she belonged. Feng Lanxi had his ambition, but it was nice to see him leave the burden to Huang Chao (an equally capable ruler) and follow his heart. I would watch season two, just to see them living happily and creating a family of their own.
