Agree. She was sneaking around and fighting with her mom to let her sing, but then she failed once and tried to deliberately ruin her voice. Weak and disappointing. I lost all respect for her then and there.

Finally started watching this. I'm seven episodes in and struggling to find a likeable character.

I agree, that's why I put this on my to watch list. There are times when I want to watch something serious and there are also times that I want something light and silly and funny. I will definitely be watching this in the future.

Rewatched this after five years and I still love it. I skipped most of Su Jin and a lot of Xuan Nu. They were the characters that annoyed me the most during the first watch, so I didn't need that this time around. I was still sad to see Dong Hua and Feng Jiu and Zi Lan and Yan Zhi not get their happy ending. Dong Hua and Feng Jiu did get a whole new drama with a happy ending, so that's ok. Will be rewatching again after 5 years :)

Definitely one of the more problematic things storywise yes, but doesn't take away from the fact that she was miscast. Also, the relationship between the Emperor and Tilan in the beginning was not exactly nice to watch either as he was openly abusive and she was manipulative on multiple occasions. So yes, the relationships in this drama don't start out well to say the least.

This is one of those old dramas that you still remember after over a decade. And by remember, I mean you remember the plot and lot of the scenes and you remember all the characters. It's definitely memorable, it's funny and romantic and there's some fantasy involved. All in all, I loved it back in 2010 and I still love it now.

I watched this not long after it aired. I chose to watch it back then because I love both the lead actors, but I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. The cast did an amazing job portraying their characters and it was definitely fun to watch.

Not familiar with Lee Jun Young, but it's always nice to see new talent and a new face. I will be watching this, because it sounds interesting.

Just watched an old episode of Running Man and she was a guest. She looked so much like Ding Yu Xi. I can't unsee it.

This was a delightful drama and I absolutely loved Kim Seul Gi and Yoon Doo Joon together. I hope they get to do a full length drama as leads in the future.

Such a waste. I was really looking forward to this. They should not have cancelled this.

it's a prequel not a sequel, so it's before he died

In all honesty, I'm glad it's not a sequel, because I had zero interest in Jo Bo Ah's character. Compared to all the other characters, she was the least interesting. Kim So Yeon's character already sounds more interesting from the one sentence description and her charisma on screen is definitely going to make this worth watching.

They are indeed brothers, but the reply above made it seem like they are the secondary couple, while what they meant was that Yuan Che and Yuan Li both have a love interest as well.

I enjoyed this drama a lot. I think the cast did an amazing job with the characters they were given. Even though I watched this 10 years ago, I still remember a lot of the plot and memorable scenes, so it's definitely not forgettable. I remember really liking how the villains were portrayed. Soo Oh Sung shines as the antagonist. Even though Shin Sun Jung doesn't appear as much as I would have liked, here role is one of the most memorable. One of the most obvious flaws of this drama is the pairing of Kim Hee Sun and Lee Min Ho who share almost no chemistry on screen, which makes their romance not very believable. That's a little unfortunate, seeing as their characters are at the centre of the story.

This was a great movie, because it succeeds in making you feel all kinds of emotions in the span of its run. It's very entertaining and moving.

This drama has its moments, but unfortunately it's a disappointing ending.
