My dearest, pretty Shika. Thanks for your message, the missing is truly mutual: the Pretties was a place where I felt almost at home and I have been sort of uprooted since it shut down. Obviously we can always communicate via the traditional channels, but admittedly it's not the same. I can't even send you a pic of Binnie here! @_@ LOL
I have stored lovely Yamapi in my attic, where I can go visit him when in need of a sexy distraction, ;)
I'm working on the new profile page... I'm still not sure if I should keep up the hormones-reshuffling trend or opt for a more sedate style... you'll know soon enough. Hehehe.

I have been well, and enjoyed my short but relaxing holiday in Austria. How about you, my friend? If you have the time and whenever you wish you may write a pm and tell me a little more of your current whereabouts and ventures. :D

Until then, a HUGE, warm and loving hug!

Thank you for your lovely message, and forgive me it took me so long to reply. I had a lovely holiday and came back with the urge to enjoy a little more of the open air life and a little less of the drama one, at least until Summer is still here. :)

I am not the kind of person who knows a lot about celebrities either - actually, I kind of hate gossips in general. However, I thought it would be nice to gather on my profile some little facts I had read during the years, more per chance than anything. It's with some hesitation I erased handsome Yamapi (and his lovely hands) from my page, but it's time to change. I had premised that I would dedicate my profile page to some favourites in turn, so now it's time for someone new. ;)
Surprise! ;)

P.S.: Have I ever told you how I wholeheartedly agree with all your choices in terms of favourite dramas? :D

I agree with you however that Gong Yo Jin's performance is great. She's the highlight of the drama. I'm just not impressed by the plot, where details start to grow old very quickly: her touching his chest with a finger, his throwing her away, the sleeping together puns, the episodic ghost stories, the usual second girl with some evil plan for no acceptable reason.
It reminds me a lot of My GF is a Gumiho, which is possibly my most detested drama of all times, so... not a good start.
I will however keep on watching for a while and see if I get invested in these characters a little more.

Sorry my dear, hope I didn't put you in a bad mood, lol. ;)

My dearest,
never apologize for replying a little late, since, as you see, I'm a master in that art, hahaha.
I've been on a short but relaxing and lovely holiday in Austria and when I came back last week I was so not in the mood for dramas and everything after I opened the MDL page, read the messages and promised myself I'd reply... one day! Naughty me.;)

I am trying to watch The Master's Sun, but I'm afraid we can't agree on this one either, lol. I started it with my hubby, but he gave up at the end of episode 1: he was not scared by the ghosts one bit and found the heroine stupid. I kept on watching, but fell asleep in the middle of episode 3. This is a very bad sign. I'm not interested in the ghost of the day, I find most of the heroine's actions completely illogic (even taking for granted the supernatural premise), and I'm not impressed by famous So Ji Sub's acting either.

I've locked Yamapi in the attic for my exclusive pleasure, bwahahahahaha <- evil laugh. ;);)

Please forgive me for taking a lot longer than expected to reply: after my short holiday I was somehow in a very "open air" mood, not too keen on sitting in front of a screen or even watching dramas - I have daily slumps now, lol!
Thank you for your vote of confidence regarding my reviews: you have to know I always read and appreciate yours too. First because you usually choose to review less known dramas - at least to me; then because you always give reasons for your choices, which more than once helped me pick or not pick a drama (see Missing You, just to mention one); finally, because they are so well written. :D

After such a long premise, what did I want to say? LOL
Are you watching something interesting?
I have started Master's Sun, but I fell asleep while watching ep. 3, which is a very, very bad sign, hahaha. I think I'll drop it very soon. :P

I'm so sorry I never replied to any of your lovely comment. I wrote this article a long time ago and it appeared during the only 5 days I decided to take a short holiday: talk about perfect timing, LOL.

So I hope you'll all forgive me if I don't reply to any of you individually: I'd end up being un-original and redundant. Thanks everyone for taking part! :D

I know it seems weird, but I tend to value a drama not only based upon my personal taste. The gangster theme is not my cup of tea, admittedly, but in itself it was well done. Actually, it was a lot funnier than I expected it to be. Skipping many parts is my fault, not the drama's. To sum it up, a drama with good acting, a good, original plot, a good characterization deserves a good mark. If I had to write a review, I'd give the music a 4, because while I understand the need to match lyrics and happenings, the melody was truly too sappy and old fashion for a 2006 drama (and my poor ears).
I debated whether I should give it a 7 or an 8, honestly, but there are aspects of the drama I believe deserve to be advertised - the love story, the chemistry, the adult approach.
In conclusion, unless I truly hated a drama like the plague, I try to be objective when giving a mark. :)

Hahahahaha, I can't boast a better knowledge of chemistry, I'm afraid. I didn't daydream during class, but I didn't pay attention either. Possibly I slept.
That's probably why I like to use the term alchemy now and then: it sounds deliciously obsolete (like the word obsolete). The two things are not exactly interchangeable, since alchemy is more of a philosophical study involving physics, medicine, chemistry, astrology, hence making it at times into a true hocus-pocus, while chemistry is a real science.

Obviously, when applied to K-dramas and kisses, there's no difference whatsoever if it's a science or a fraud. lol

3. Playful Kiss - the whole drama was horrid, and so the kisses, despite the title.

4. Boys Before Flowers - fake kisses, as was to be expected. Idols are a guarantee of bad kissing anyway.

Wait, I forgot Lie to Me among the best kisses!! The drama was mediocre, but the kisses were very hot. :)

As for Lovers... not my genre. The two leads are interesting characters, adults and to a certain extent likable. I skipped almost all the corporate talk and the gangsters talk, so basically I skipped 2/3 of the drama. LOL. The love story was beautiful, even though at times I failed to understand the reaction of one or the other. Perhaps I ended up skipping some love parts too, lol.
The music was terrible for my poor ears, I'm afraid. Not my genre, it made me cringe.
All in all I think it's a good drama, consistent and even quite original in its premises, but you have to like the theme.

4. Queen In Hyun's Man - my favourite is the one in the library, although some may disagree with me and chose the one in the car or the one in the house with her stepping on his feet. I loved it because it was sweet and urgent at the same time, the leads's attraction could be sensed from the screen, lol.

5. I do, I do - at that point I had fallen in love with the male lead and it's been like kissing him myself. Yes, sue me... ;)

The worst... too many to count, lol. Anyway, I hate it when you wait and wait for a kiss and when it FINALLY comes - if ever - it's like two fishes separated by a glass. I'd rather have none.
Anyway:

1. You're Beautiful - ack! The frozen lips with the camera caught in a typhoon. Horrible.

2. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho - all the talk about mating for hours and then the most childish kiss on the roof. Bleah. As I said, I hate it when expectations are crushed.

Best kisses in K-dramas... :
1. I need Romance - all kisses, because they seemed very real. No wall kisses here at all, and no naive girls with starred expressions. Sexy and adult.

2. Coffee Prince - "whether you're an alien or a man"... memorable and passionate. All the kisses in the drama are memorable and the alchemy is palpable.

2. Secret Garden - the party kiss. Because it came after a long but right emotional and sensual built up, because the chemistry was great and because it lasted long.

3. King 2 Hearts - the fridge kiss. Lovely, romantic, not cheesy, believable. In short, a great kissing scene.

A truly beautiful review, detailed, engaging and I'd add very convincing if I hadn't already watched the drama myself and given it a 10 too (and all 10 in my mind)! :D

You did well, thank you for sending the request! :D
Now and then, when I pleasantly chat with someone here I totally forget whether we are "friends" already or not.
It all begins with opinion sharing anyway. :D

IHYV is one of those dramas I'd love to write a review of, but I feel a lot have been written already and some point out exactly what I'd love to. So I'll either wait less busy times or just enjoy what's already there. I'm better at bashing than raving anyway, lol. ;)

(I only hope you'll never read my review of MGIAG. I'd rather keep this newly found friendship alive a little longer, lol)

I agree, the theme empathy is one I love myself. And they succeded wonderfully in making us feel strongly for each and every character in the drama. Not only the very adorable leads, but even the villain. I'm glad they managed to show his human side too without ever condoning his acts.
It was truly well round up, and I think those characters will remain in my memory for a long time.
From time to time I almost imagine them living somewhere for real. :)

Forgive me, I have this habit of shortening nicks, one of these days someone will tell me to sod off, lol. ;)

It's nice to meet another Coffee Prince and I Hear Your Voice's fan.:)
I haven't got them on my faves only because I'm doing a rotation and it's now Japan's turn. ;)

I loved your review of I Hear Your Voice, even what you call a cliché in the end, but it's actually very far from it. :)
It's nice to read people's voices, as well as hearing them. :D
