You'll certainly stumble upon a fabulous boy! ;)

It's the taiwanese version of You're Beautiful, is it not? I hadn't planned on watching it, but I don't see why not. I can't start before the second half of August though, and I have something like a dozen dramas on queue, lol.
So you're watching it now? Why do you like it more?

Then tell them to me: I'm all ears! :D
I must say I loved it, from the first minutes of episode 1 to the last of ep.18. I have no complains whatsoever, on the contrary I'm happy they didn't resort to the usual makjang elements like birth secrets, brain tumors, or 3 minutes ending. It was enjoyable, sweet, adorable and thrilling. And yes, I'm partial to the couple. ;)

Every time I read your currently watching list I get scared, lol. ;)

I'm just passing by to say that I'm going to be immersed in guests visiting and then translation. I won't be coming here very often until the second half of August. Just so that you don't think I'm avoiding friends. :)
In the meantime, I wish you a lovely weekend, twinnie. Enjoy your numerous watching. :D

I have lived all my life following this philosophy: a four-leaves clover must not be looked for, it must be simply found. In fact, I literally find clovers whenever I go: they look at me.
The long premise is to say that luck, if anything like it exists, can be helped. Your positive attitude will make you find the right person. And when it happens, it won't last only 5 days. :)

I also believe, however, that there isn't a single soulmate for us out there. There are several, as many as our own changes allow. If we are lucky enough to live a relationship that lasts until the very end, all the better. If not, there are surprises behind the corner too. ;)

You know? I think part of the reason why I loved this drama so much is that I watched it with him. Christian is my husband, but he's most of all my best friend, so we have great fun together, discuss things after watching, debate and laugh a great deal. The best wish I have for you, my friend, is to one day find such a man, one who makes you feel loved yes, safe yes, but most of all, who makes you feel you are a partner in crime, on a totally equal foot. I may be repetitive, but I think equality is the only true ingredient for chemistry. No attraction will ever last as much as mutual respect.
I suppose this is the second reason why I loved this drama so much, lol. :D

LOL, I can't be of much help in your choice, Akai. I have a translation to finish by the middle of next week and lately am fighting with constant headaches, possibly due to the heat. On the 14th I'll be driving to a friend to Austria, where I'll stay about 1 week. This means that I won't be watching anything until the second half of August. I was however contemplating the idea of watching The Sun of My Master. Yes, you read right: me and a Hong Sister's drama!!
I want to give it a try and watch it weekly with my husband. It's great fun to watch with him, as he always has a hilarious comment to make, even during the most tense moments, haha. :D

Why were you disappointed in the ending of IHYV? I thought it was lovely.

I apologize for being so repetitive, but I loved your review of I Hear Your Voice and agree with every word.
I wished there were more dramas like this, perhaps not perfect (are there?), but satisfying till the very end. :)

I love to be called Rita-chan, and although I'm not younger, I consider it an affectionate suffix. :D

You can lose yourself in reviews all you want: I for one wouldn't mind reading more. :)

By the way, I've finished I Hear Your Voice and loved it until the very last second. It's the kind of drama that not only keeps me on the edge of my seat with its plot, but also as content as a kid with all the sweet and funny scenes, the adorable characters and the very nice music. In short, the full package. I won't write a review however. Not now, at least. I'm bad at writing good reviews, lol. ;)

But a big part of me refuses to accept that we should still promote and sigh over such henpecked people, just because out of, say, 20 hours of drama going absolutely nowhere we have a hero who finally says the magic words and all the suffering, the stalking, the mean replies, the offenses are forgotten. How am I supposed to believe a story like this one could work beyond the hours allotted to the drama? How long can an intelligent man who studies to become a doctor, who has a clear mind and is straightforward resist next to a child woman who has absolutely NOTHING to say except: "oh, Naoki, you're so awesome!" and then pouts.
Really, I could throw up.

By the way: my mother - and my father too - taught me more or less the same thing as yours. "Never let anyone decide about your life in your stead, least of all a man." He who doesn't love himself cannot love someone else.

I remember very well your review of Loving you etc etc and giving it my vote of approval even without watching the thing. :D While I've always been an advocate of never judging a drama because the plot doesn't go the way I'd like it to, I can't stand bad characterization, and this is what made me hate Itazura.
Since I came to MDL, I've taken part in a good number of discussions about weak heroines and "bad guys", read tons of comments about how good it would be to finally have a kick-ass female lead... and then comes a drama like this. And the whole world swoons and swears it's so romantic. I know I shouldn't care: I'm living my life the way I want, I should let other dream of whatever they want to dream.

You did it! :D You wrote some reviews, and I love that you chose less popular shows.
I'm very happy you broke the silence. ;)

I'm a little surprised too, lol. In the beginning it wasn't so bad, I had still hope that the direction would enphazise some aspects and skip others, but the more I went on the worse things got, I even started fast forwarding entire parts. The character of Naoki is not so unpleasant and the guy can actually act, so there was something decent about it. By episode 12 or so however I wanted to finish it only to write a review and bash the thing, haha.
So, yes, my bad. I've become a lot more selective too with time and experience, but now and then it still happens that I let myself be trapped into something totally wrong for me.
Perhaps it's the heat! ;)

As you may have noticed, Cruel City has been put at once on my ptw list and I promise I'll come back to you as soon as I start it. Unfortunately I can't right now, as I need to finish a translation by next week and then possibly take a week holiday from duties and dramas too.

In the meantime, I wish you a nice evening and hope to read you soon! :D

Let's start with the pleasantries: my profile page. LOL
I come here every time I'm in need of a hormones refill, something which happens often enough, lol. The guy is just too yummy for my emotional balance. If only they would start subbing his new drama! It's taking an eternity. Japanese drama lovers like me have to suffer, it seems.

Unless it's stupid dramas like that mischievous kiss my boots, which was obviously subbed the moment it aired. I suppose this is one of the things that triggered my dislike - if ever it needed triggering. I'm also well aware I shouldn't complain about a plot. I knew that it's about a girl who goes to inimaginable length to win the guy's affection, but I had hoped they would update this story a little, add some details that would render this terrible heroine a little more decent, but they insisted on the romance and that annoyed me. My bad.

Of course I don't mind you contacting me, on the contrary, thank you for taking the time and not sending my way some terrible spell like "I hope you get lots of pimples" or something. lol
Honestly, I didn't even write that review to convince anyone, it was more a necessity of my brain, chewed out by hours of a story that I simply disliked. Like you very rightly say, I can imagine this story working well as a manga or anime. These means of expression allow a lot more farcical, comedic situations, which in a live action can be hilarious but here are just embarrassing - at least to me.
Who knows, perhaps one day you decide to watch it anyway and disagree with me, but right now I can only compliment you on the wise choice of staying away from it. ;);)

"Oh and for once no one had amnesia after being hit in the head numerous times".
Hahahahaha, I love you. And loved your review. I'm sorry you have nobody to tell what's really in your mind to, lest you spoil the whole thing. I wish I could be the recipient, but - alas! - I have not watched the drama yet. But I have all the intention to, thanks to all the good recommendations. :D
And the lack of amnesia. ;)

Thank you my dear, you're a treasure! And I wish you would write reviews, regardless of what others think. The good readers of reviews are those who judge regardless of how they liked or disliked the drama. If you wrote a reviews in which you give me reasons why you liked a certain drama, I'd appreciate it even though I don't agree or haven't watched the drama myself.

And I too hope I'll like IHYV's ending. I have this bad feeling that won't go away... bwaaahhhhhh.

Can I hug you for confort? ;)

No, I haven't yet. I think Chris and I will watch both episodes tomorrow night and face the fears together, lol.

I didn't mention kin-chan. The review would have come out too long if I had addressed him as well, and I still think I haven't written all I wanted to say despite it all. I am just so indignant about the whole thing I needed to vent and rant.

I'll be stoned, but I must be honest. So please forgive me, my friend. :)
