I think Sennyu Tantei is a very nice drama, one to be approached when you're in need of a break from emotionally charged shows. It's the episodic type, so one can watch an episode today and the next in a week and nothing major would go lost. There's a background plot which spans throughout the whole serie, but what you actually get to see is the way gorgeous Shota solves the different cases.
If you like the genre - as I do - than definitely give this one a try. It's well acted, more serious in tone than you may expect but not excessively so and the cases are interesting. Shota is his usual sexy self, so definitely worth a watch or 10. :D
I also think it's perfect since you're so distracted, hehe. ;)
Dear Mistilla, Don't you think it's too soon for a series review? I honestly think your toughts would be better…
Agreed. Mostly because it's a very well written review and it's a pity it should go to waste just because it's too soon.
Have a little patience and edit when the show's over. :)

Then I too will keep on calling you Lumi. Light is always involved, after all, and it's truly beautiful. :)
I know what you mean. Sae is a brave character, but she too needs the support and encouragement of her friends. I love what Kai tells her when she throws a fit about her bad luck and he reminds her that everyone around her has got hardships to overcome, even when it doesn't seem so. He constantly brings her back to reality in the sweetest of ways. Kai is indeed her light in the darkness. I love this scriptwriter because she touches on some simple truth without the pretense of preaching.
One of my favourite scenes is when she calls him after her date has gone very wrong. She tells him when she opens her right hand she finds it empty and he asks her to open the left and check if he's there. Lovely.

Thank you my friend, for once I DID go there and read your comment. However it's very useful to have a reminder here too. You never know when I may forget to go check again... :P

Hahahaha, please, please, everyone is calling me something different depending on their mood and whim! I've been Rita, Rita-chan, Rita-kun, Rita-sshi, Rirri, Ri, Twinnie, Unnie, and even ahjumma. This last is the only one who didn't see the sun rising again, lol.
Jokes apart, please keep on calling me Rita. It's my name, after all, and I feel comfortable with it. :)
It's me who should apologize for shortening your nick in Lumi, but that's the Italian in me. In our culture, shortening a name or a nick is a sign of affection, rather than brevity. Lumi is the root for luminoso, luminescente, illuminare: truly beautiful. :)
What makes you think you will have a crisis after OD? It's the beauty of this story? :)
Cheer, at some point you'll understand why this drama is set in 2010. But my advice is to not ask why now. Let the drama surprise you. ;)

LOL, your mother sounds adorable and I fully understand she wants to share every possible food for discussion with you. That's actually the pleasure of having someone dear watch with us.
I managed to convert 3 people to asian dramas: my mom, who's a full addict now and loves both Japanese and Korean; my man, who prefers Korean (he needs more eventuful plots, while I love the slow ones too, based on style and details of the dialogue). Then there's my best friend. Unfortunately, We can't watch together and I pass her those dramas I loved and I have either translated myself or are already translated in italian. When we meet, however, we bask in the pleasure of sharing opinion and, admittedly, swoon over hot actors, Japanese, Korean or Chinese, we have no prejudices. ;);)

You're not a party pooper: this isn't the first time we disagree on something, but it never deterred us from discussing dramas, did it? :)
I won't watch Shark any time soon, it's not the kind of plot I look for in a drama. Tonbi, on the other hand, is on my list and if you say you like it I'm going to watch it very soon, perhaps at the end of the week already, if I have the time. :D

I see what you mean. Admittedly, the plot itself could have been ended at episode 17. Nothing major has been revealed or disclosed on episode 18 and being a happy ending drama it was filled with little details which were not directly necessary to the plot flow.
This said, I enjoyed it nonetheless. I like for last episodes to take their time and give us a little insight in the life of those characters "after the earthquake".
Drama extensions are never good news, because they imply the writer has to hurriedly add new material to something (s)he had already planned. I have no doubt one of those was Soo Ha's subpoena and the whole attempted murder debacle. nevertheless, I found it was well played, and gave all the characters involved, including "fan judge" a little something to round up their arc.

Hye Seong is my current heroine too. I love her to bits, sassy behaviour, unyelding temper, twisted skirts and all.
;)
Are you watching it with your mom? Great! :D I too watch dramas with her (well, with mine, lol). We have a fix rendez-vous on Sundays and watch either 1 or 2 episodes. Right now we are watching (re-watch for me) Bara No Nai Hanaya. Nearing the end, she's already pestering me with "what's next?".
LOL

Lumi, it's me who should thank you. For your vote of confidence and your lovely message. Thank you! :D
I'm truly happy you enjoyed Tatta Hititsu No Koi, because no matter how non-original it may be, I still find it a timeless story, very romantic and poetically simple. Isn't Hiroto's glance by that aquarium priceless? ;)
As for Itazura, I hope I'm not deterring you from something you might like. I wrote that review in the grip of my indignation, so I had no mercy for it. Not that I have more respect after some time has passed, though. I still wonder why some dramas are overlooked in silence and others are made, remade, re-remade and never improved.
Are you watching anything you like now? :)

Everyone's raving about Cruel City, so I think I'll give it a shot. I have no doubt it's a great drama, I just don't know if I'm in the right mood for it.
Since we established a weekly routing with I Hear Your Voice, my hurband and I decided to keep the ritual and watch the new wed-thu K-drama on SBS, which happens to be the new Hong Sisters' one. I'm usually an anti-fan of the famous sisters, but I want to give the horror rom-com a chance.
Apart from that, the only thing I've truly planned is a short holiday. I'll be in Austria from august 14th for a week or so. I need a break... from dramas too. ;)
My least fav scenes, because they are so unbelievable.
I thought I was the only one who's not extremely fond of accidental kisses. They can be funny, but they ruin the romantic tension if there was any, and look fake in the best case.

LOL, I knew that review wouldn't meet with a lot of approval, but that's what happens when one writes in the grip of anger. I also knew the story and what kind of "heroine" I was going to watch, but somehow I still hoped.
I'm sorry, but I dropped Ariel Lin and Co even before watching the Tw version. I can't possibly survive another 20 episodes of that story. I'd rather jump into another remake like Fabulous Boys. Although not my favourite story out there, the female lead can't possibly be worse than Go Mi Nam. LOL
I rated I Hear Your Voice a 10 because I liked everything about it. I loved the fact they they took a little more time than usual to wrap up all plot threads, so yes, I truly liked the last episode. Hye Sung has become one of my favourite heroines ever - and I'm absolutely partial to great heroines.

I will gather a few and send them with some tips about the cooking. I know most people think they know how to cook pasta - but who knows, you may find a couple of tricks useful too. :D
Is there any ingredient you really hate (except pork, of course)?
