No, it's not episodic, although it has a few subplots which are developed in one episode only. It's one of those dramas that tell the story of a group of people and how they deal with the ups and downs of their job and their life. They all come up very real, human and lovable, at least for me. It's also a romantic story, in its own peculiar way.
If you watch it, may I ask you to keep me posted on how you like it? :D

I truly don't know why everyone is so negative with Yamapi's acting: I belong to the group of those who think he's a good actor. He probably won't win an Oscar right now but then none of the actors under 30 we all watch on a daily basis would win one. I have watched everything he acted in, specials included, and he was always believable in his part - regardless of my liking the character or not.

As for Erika Toda, she's great. Very versatile and a bit of a chameleon. :)

It's the kind of drama Japanese are really good at, in my opinion, with characters one can relate to and love. And Ikuta Toma is perfect for the part! :D

Apart from Nobuta and Kurosagi which I adore, my favourite Yamapi's dramas are Code Blue 1, 2 and special, where he's absolutely gorgeous; Sore wa, Totsuzen, Arashi no you ni - a young version of him, very sweet; Stand Up!! the funniest of the list. I know I should have chosen one, but I love all of those for different reasons and I'm not good at choosing, lol.

I am NOT in the mood for depressing stuff. Last night I tried to watch Silver Linings Playbook with my husband but we dropped it by the middle with a headache. Really, they never stop talking and yelling, it's... brain addling. Have you seen it?

I am at episode 6 of Senyu Tantei - now, that's another gorgeous young man. He's half Korean. I love this drama. I have read tepid reviews, but I am loving the cases as well as the characterization. I think people are a little too unjust with non-romantic dramas.

I'm only on episode 2 with Ryuusei. Getting there. :)

Funny, because Yamapi has been for a very long time my obsession and I am having a relapse into that love right now. My new pc is basically full of his pictures, including my current desktop.
In fact, I have lately marathoned through all of his works, all of which I had already watched, at times more than once. Monsters is the only one I haven't, but now that you tell me so, I'm picking it up again.
There's a quality about him which I can't even put my finger on, something I can't resist to. I know many say he's not a good actor, but I beg to differ. He... looks the part, if that makes sense. :)
He's Japanese all right, by the way.

I have tried watching Monsters for the sake of Yamapi, but the drama doesn't do much to keep me invested. It's truly silly, and although both actors do a great job at being, indeed, silly, in the long run it gets on my nerves.
I think I may watch one episode every once in a month or so, lol.

I hear your voice is killing me too. I wanted to wait, but couldn't resist and now we have to wait one full week. Bwahhh.

As for the girl in Nine: yes, she's quite terrible. I mean, for once we have a drama where the super gorgeous male lead kisses the girl not even 5 minutes into the 1st ep. and her reaction is the typical, by now hated starred eyes and frozen stance. Talk about killing the momentum. I hated her at first sight, lol.

I put it on hold, but it's not forgotten. I'll definitely watch it later on. :)

I'm also still hooked on I hear your Voice. Have you seen the last episodes? Many are criticizing them, but I think the plot flows exceptionally well, it's thrilling and the acting is wonderful. The main actress is quickly becoming my heroine. :)
