Yes, let's sue them in a joint lawsuit. Like this, we'll have to go to Korea for the trial. :D
It's clear the "hearts" in the title are ours: "2" because we will have to replace this one very soon. ;)

Gosh... I am going to die until next Wednesday. I am already preparing a plan which should keep me away from the pc at every hour of the day: clean the whole flat including dust under the furniture, make home bread for an army, translate 50 pages a day (of a novel I haven't received yet), run 60 miles in 8 hours with my rucksack and a broom that looks like a rifle, go look for four leaves clovers, plant strawberries...
Or someone kill me and give me peace. :S
lol

No, I haven't got an FB account, nor will I ever have one. I know I'm a little weird, but I am very jealous of my privacy and only like to talk about myself with selected people. I know I could go there and be sort of anonymous, but it would defeat the object, wouldn't it? ;)
You must have learned a lot of interesting stories from your grandparents - and even parents - too. Cherish them. Sometimes I regret not having asked more until I had the chance.

To go back to lighter chit-chat: I wrote a comment in the Rooftop Prince thread. Please, Violet, don't hate me!!!!! :D

Forgive me for turning this into such a serious conversation. It's just not easy to find discussion companions on so delicate a subject. :)

I know a little of the history of Armenia, but I know it once was part of the USSR. I also know of the Armenian Genocide and I wish it would have more weight in the decision to have Turkey enter the EU - which I'm personally very skeptical of, but that's probably too complex an issue to discuss on a forum wall.
This said, my grandparents (all died now, alas), were living testimony of two faces of the same medal: my grandmother from mother side, who was Austrian (I'm half-austrian myself), was a string opposer of Nazism and risked her life in more than one occasion to hide refugees in her attic. My paternal grandmother, the Italian one, was a member of the Fascist party since both her and her husband worked in the public administration.
Both grandmothers have had a huge influence on my life and views. I'm happy I got to know them both. Their memory is a priceless treasure for me.

Yes, you're right, we haven't and I'm proud of it too. I wish my country would become neutral once and for all. No matter the cause, wars are always plain wrong, period.
As a matter of fact, this drama is touching me for more than the mere pleasure of watching a good show. It touches issues like communism vs. liberism in a way which is not - as it often is - patronizing. It aims at showing the weaknesses and values of both. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an apologue of communism, not in the way it has been applied in countries like east Germany, north Korea or Cambodia. But I hate it when they are simply described as stupid boars with no conscience, or silly nitwits only wanting to flee to richer countries.
I like it that through the eyes of Jae Ha - who embodies the values of capitalism - we as viewer are shown the other side of the medal too.

Love love love your review as always. Sometimes I wish we could respond to those, haha.
Yes, the queen mother is breaking my heart every single time. The actress is doing such a fantastic job, I can't stop praising her. She's like the epitome of every mother around the world, while on top of it all she has to hold a front as a queen mother. Every interaction with his son has been brilliantly portrayed by both.

And Italy, hahahaha. I must say I had to grit my teeth since it was mentioned as being one of the weakest teams, LOL. How dare they??? Just kidding. By the way, I may be the only person who noticed that the football game Jae Ha and his brother watch together (the one he remembers and then finds out the password) was South Korea vs. ITALY, in the World Football Championship in 2002, when Korea won at the very last minutes of the extra time!

That's the price to pay when you live in a tropical country, I guess. ;)
I couldn't access the page for almost 2 days. There has been a server problem, but apparently it was a problem only for some of us, as I see many kept on posting without problem.
To go back to the Philippines, the reason why I want to visit it is because I've met many Philippinos and think you are a very friendly folk. When deciding on a vacation destination, the people is always what attracts me the most. :)

Hi Violet!!
So you could access MDL? I was cut out for almost 3 days, and the same happened to a few on DC. :S
The place must be fed up of my comments on K2H, lol.

Please forgive me for never replying, but I couldn't access the MDL page for almost 3 days. I wasn't the only one, but I see others were here? Funny.

However, here's my guess: an island in the Caribbean. :D

I don't know the type of j-dramas you may like best, however, from your list and the rating you gave to some dramas, I'd recommend some of my favourite:
Tatta Hitotsu No Koi
Orange Days
Nagareboshi
Love Shuffle
they are all romance dramas, but played in a very delicate, suave way, very well acted and touching.
If you like detective dramas, or more... "daring" things (meaning strange, not hentai, lol) I can recommend some, but perhaps you first want to try those and then see. :)

Uh, I'm from Italy. And you? :D

Oh, you will soon find out that my list pales in comparison with some people here who have seen more than 200 dramas, lol. Don't ask me how they do it. I've started hmmmm... 5 years ago with Japanese dramas which are a lot shorter, so it's easy to make the count go up. :)
You, on the other hand, have started with some of the best, and it looks like we currently share a common passion, ;)
I hope you'll write something in your bio: I like to read those. :D

Writing a bio on this page is the most difficult part of this profile creating... better be light about it. ;);)

Ahhh, you were in Italy?:) I'm so glad you liked it. I have a love/hate relationship with my country, but I can't deny of being deeply touched when someone from outside appreciates it. I live between Milan and Verona, but Siena and whole Tuscany has got a special feel to it, some... perfume which I connect to the idea of home. I wish I had the chance to visit your part of the world too. I don't know many people who have been to Armenia - well, perhaps I know none - but I've always found it alluring for some reason. I imagine it as a country of harsh beauty, where you just stare at the open spaces and feel... tiny.
Any intention to come back to Italy any time soon? You now have an official guide through Lombardy (and not a bad cook, lol).
So, should you plan a visit, let me know!!! :D

I am, thank you. :) I had dinner, my never relinquished coffee and now I'm even ready to watch something, although I don't know what. :P
The fascination for the Orient is another thing we share. I lived for a while in Malaysia and have travelled extensively through all South East Asia. That is a part of the world I still miss, I think I've left a piece of my heart there. But I've never been to either Japan or Korea. Have you? :)

Please forgive me for disappearing so suddenly earlier. I had a headache and lied down for what I wanted to be 10 minutes but ended up being 2 hours! I wish you a great Saturday night, and hope to revive the always pleasant conversation with you very soon. :D

Oh, economy/legal related documents are a torture, as you rightly say. I just had to translate an agreement into German for a sort of friend and it was horrid. You know, all those legal language structures which say everything an nothing. I racked my brain all the while thinking: why be simple when you can be so complicated? :P
But aside from those instances where the language is a simple communication tool, I love the deeper meaning of translating, that subtle feeling of transmitting the thoughts and feelings of someone for others to appreciate.
What would you like to do when you're finished with your studies?
